Reminisce Zoo Friends Layout

This graveyard is right in the middle of the Lousiville Zoo!  I used the Reminisce Power Palette including designer paper, paper flowers and photo mats to make the cricut embellishments.  I used the Reminisce exclusive Creative Memories Cricut Cartridge to create this beautiful embellishments including the "friends" title below.

I love to fussy cut, well, I should say I like the versatility fussy cutting provides.  For instance the stone pillar about takes on a whole new look cut out and popped up.  Here, I didn't want to lose the sunflower shape in the paper so I tucked the journally box beneath the cut.  More cricut made embellishments and paper flowers.

Close to my heart Stamps & Creative Memories Papers Beautiful Cards

I am trying to use up old Creative Memories cardstock and papers.  I used a three color Brilliance ink which I think looks great with the Close to My Heart swirly dance stamps.  I added ribbon and bling to dress it up.

Reminisce used for Autumn Zoo Layout

I used the border maker system, again, it is my new favorite tool!  I used Harvest Die cut Paper on both pages, Reminisce tone on tone paper, paper flowers and paper frames.  The stickers are from the Reminisce Spring Addition. The title sticker is from the Reminisce Autumn Addition.  On the bongos page I used the Custom Cutting System Large Fancy Square Frame.

Yeah, we all make mistakes.  I have learned to live with it.  At least it is my handwriting!

Steampunk Xmas Cards

Last year I waited until the very last minute and stressed out over my xmas cards.  This year I have had some ideas in the works for a while. Now two months before Christmas I have some finished! I purchased this main stamp at Michael's after Christmas last year.  It was a wooden backed stamp which I am trying to avoid for storage reasons but it was so cool, I had to have it!  I used Tim Holtz spinners, american craft buttons, two different Creative Memories snowflake punches, and a new Stampin Up cling set Clockworks to make the gear embellishments.  Ribbon and brads from Hobby Lobby.  Bayou Blue Stampin Up ink and I think an old Creative Memories dusty blue cardstock.  The smallest snowflakes are from a snowflake corner punch I found in my collection.  I had the spinner and tree done for a while it was just today I decided my new SU set would make great embellishments and I went searching for some snowflake punches.  I misted the snowflakes and gears with Ranger butterscotch and a silver glimmer mist to recreate the distress on the patterned paper which I believe is basic grey.

Creative Memories Primary Zoo Addition

I used the Primary Zoo Addition from a while ago.  It was perfect for the primary colors of the playground slide.  I thought it was a cute touch to fence in the animals with the rusic fence cartridge from the border maker system.

More Thank you cards

Anna Griffith Stamp, Colorbox ink, velvet ribbon, American Craft buttons, paper studio powder blue shimmer cardstock, yellow cardstock, black cardstock.  I don't know where the patterned paper came from it was in my "nature/flowers" stack of 12x12 paper. All these pieces just came together for a nice little card!  I also used the special edition Creative Memories corner rounder on all the corners.  I loved it so much I even used the scraps to create a 7th card.

Fabulous Flamingos!

I used the Creative Memories Fabulous Power Palette to create a great bird layout from our visit to the Lousiville Zoo in 2010.  I used the designer print paper, paper flowers, paper photo mats and paper ribbon.  The Toucan sticker came from the Primary zoo addition.  I used the new twinkle border maker cartridge with Fabulous tone on tone paper and the Enchaned epoxy stickers for the center of the flowers.

The paper was already chosen but I was working on this layout during the CM virtual crop and the challenge was to use the word fabulous in a layout.  I also combined two ideas from the Croptoberfest idea sheet to design the ribbon/border embellishment at the top and the layers of twinkle across the bottom.  Of course, I chalked all of this with the new Croptoberfest red brick chalking ink to imitate the darker swaths of pink in the flamingos.  I also chalked the swirly white monogram letters and alpha letters.

Thank you Cards

While volunteering at the CKC in Cincinnati a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to also work for Avacado Arts.  I managed her make and take while she taught a class for a couple of hours.  Of course, I traded for merchandise and got these cute stamps in exchange for my work.  I used two of her stamp sets here:  February 2012: wishes and Kind Thoughts and another unnamed set.  I scraplifted the tag make and take and made it into a card.

The best thing I learned from her make and take was the reverse stamping to "color in" the stamped area as done with the grass and owl.

Here is the original make and take.

Border Maker Ideas

This is a border maker idea sheet I made for a recent crop.  Several ideas were scraplifted.  Running ribbon through the picket fence cartridge is one of my favorites illustrated in purple cardstock and Fabulous paper ribbon.  For the pumpkins I used pop-dots, chalked the edges (all borders have been) and ran an old CM vine sticker between them, too cute!  The waves are layered and the center border reversed.

The entire page. I almost didn't keep the gingerbread cartridge but after seeing some very creative ideas on a CM share page (bottom 3 borders), I decided it was very versatile!  The red and black border is the frame chain border cartridge with black dots glued in between and ladybug dots drawn on the back very cute and makes my mind race with other color combinations with dots in between or sticker flowers...

Updated Studio Photos

I have too much stuff!
The jewelry side...
I took out the second desk that was on this side because it just collected clutter.  I rearranged some containers I already had elsewhere.  I feel I have more room and it looks more organized.  I know it is still very cluttered compared to the neat white rooms in new homes that I see on other blogs.

Cluttered.  I haven't made jewelry since my last show the second weekend of September.

One of the first little projects I did when I moved scrapbooking to this room was color my tinkerbell I had had around for years.

This is the cabinet I was painting in the last set of photos from a few months ago.  I still have to find a longer screw to attach the knob I have picked out.  I bought the jars at Tuesday Morning and put buttons in them.  It held most of my buttons but not all.  The center shelf contains really old buttons at least one jar maybe two came from a friends mother's collection.  I feel honored to be given some of her mother's buttons.  I plan on decorating the outside over time.  I love my glimmer mist on top!  very handy!

Stamping buddies box challenge

Here is a Martha Stewart Glitterable Box purchased at Stamping Buddies on Galbraith Rd to participate in a contest.  One could choose from any of 3 fall themes:  Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  I went very Martha and stayed with simple and elegant.  I painted the box silver, glittered the "bow" and cut up some swirly bling and put it on.  But that is too simple.  I hinged the box and misted the toule and misted an ATC and stamped my holiday greeting.  The project was due September 30.
Prior to starting the project.

Paint and secure, work in progress.
