Kraftie Kre8ations Speedy Sketch Challenge

Whew!  that took about 45 minutes!  I had to hurry so I can go make dinner.  Today was a speedy challenge on the Kraftie Kre8ations website http://www.kraftiekre8ations.blogspot.com/ and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/kraftiekre8ations/589982407690969/?notif_t=group_activity.  Rules include keeping the sketch as true as possible, use the color light green, and use a stamped sentiment.  I am using a Stampin Up paper as the base.  The red paper was cut with the Creative Memories border maker system as was the music paper.  I used two lengths of black satin ribbon adhered together with musical washi tape to achieve a wider ribbon.  I have real postage stamps from the Netherlands I purchased off of ebay.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's Glee and the "cancellation"~ish stamp is from Close To My Heart's You Rock.  I inked with chalk to continue the soft shabby look of the stamps and music paper. This challenge is open until 9:55 PM if you want to give it a go!

Kraftie Kre8ations Card Sketch & Pretty Pink Posh Color Palette Challenges

Today I played with sketches and challenges.  It was fun!  I also managed to fit in a visit with a friend who gifted me some new stamps!  Thank you Sheila!  For these cards I was trying the Pretty Pink Posh 10 Minute Craft Dash.  This first one did not make it in time but it is my favorite.  I followed the Kraftie Kre8ations' current card sketch.  All of the cards use Bazzil Leapfrog, Stampin Up Bayou Blue & Groovy Guava.  I also used those SU inks along with Memento Dew Drop Dye Inkpad in Bamboo Leaves.  I chalked with Quick Quotes Mango Mai Tai Powder Puff.  The pearl paper is Graphic 45 Le Romantique My Beloved.

The stamps used on this card are Stampin Up Fish Frolic.  Fiber and sea shells.

These two cards made it under 10 minutes.  Actually, they both took 7 minutes and 22 seconds.  The greeting is SU Sassy Salutations.  Fiber and K & Co flower.
The stamp set I used on this card is Heidi Grace Day Dream Believer.  On these two I used the Creative Memories border maker system to edge the Graphic 45 paper.cd_22_long

Soccer Layout using Sketch~N~Scrap Challenge #36 & Blog Candy Winner

Happy Day!  I have visited random.org and have a winner from Saturday's Blog Hop,  Mary Jaminski!  Congrats!  Please send me an email with an address to send your prize!

For my post today here is a Sketch~n~scrap challenge layout:

When I see a new sketch challenge, I try to print out a picture of the sketch and tape it to the wall in front of my work space.  I have several taped there currently.  I then go through my current album that is organized according to the Creative Memories Power Layout method and using CM Power layout guides.  I will blog about this method of album organization later, but suffice to say I can flip through and find layouts that will work with say the 3 picture sketch provided by Sketch~N~Scrap.  I found several but this is the first one I completed.

I am not sure of the base paper because of my "Tiffanized" organization* but it was in my "green" bin and perfect for this layout with the fence like pattern.  The green and blue papers are Creative Memories.  The diecuts are from The Storytellers Club.  I used to belong to their monthly club and have tons of stuff that needs to be used.  I found these in my "soccer/sports" organized area.  I had already used the papers and other diecuts and since these were the only pieces left...they were lumped in with soccer.  It all came together perfectly. I elected to "double" the ribbon to add more black to the layout.  I also popped up some of the elements on pop dots.  I used the old CM small star punch for the stars.

Well,  I had to make page two match!

I love to complete!

This card definitely included some old product that has been in my stash for a while.  For our "Forgotten Treasures" project we were to include product or tools that have not been used in at least 6 months.  This card definitely contains old stash but I feel it is totally refreshed by the use of current tools and techniques.  I feel it turned out lovely.  The pictures just don't do it justice!

This card was for a wedding recently attended.  I spent a few hours on this one.  I used TPC metallic cardstock for the card base and the border cut with Creative Memories border maker.  I also used the CM Divine Cricut cartridge to cut the glasses.  The Cricut part was the most time consuming.  I made a few different embellishments but settled on the glasses.  I embossed some old (circa 2004) printed CM paper with an embossing folder.  It is a khaki floral.  I think the sentiment stamp is from Anna Griffin layered with black cardstock just like my Cricut diecut.  I embossed the sentiment with embossing powder to make it pop.  I still think embossing makes inked images pop! and I love being "glittery" for the rest of the day.  Definitely have not used the CM paper or the stamp in 6 months.  One newer technique that updates this card is chalking of the edges, well not even the edges, I love chalking my embossed papers, can you see where I inked the top with silver?

I really like the beaded wire I looped into a heart to layer on the border diecut.  I have NEVER used any of this beaded wire that I purchased on clearance at Michael's, I cannot tell you how long ago I purchased it.  I have red, green, gold and clear/silver, it must have been after Christmas.  Since I took The Scrap Rack Organizational Challenge I have ran across many old items that I have now used because of Tiffany's methods.  You can find the source here:  http://www.thescraprack.com/.  This wire is now in with my "whites", I love that all my white embellishments are now together.  When I am looking for another embellishment, it is so easy to find something that matches!  I am planning an upcoming post on Tiffany's organizational ideas.  So become a follower and comment below to win!

Creative Memories Card with Washi tape

I just love to multi-task!  I created this card for a couple of challenges, a card swap and my upcoming blog hop!!  My idea began with wanting to use more washi tape.  I had just purchased this Elmer's 3 pack of these green and blue tapes on clearance at Kroger.  So I pulled out my handy dandy iris boxes marked "green paper" and "blue paper", I sorted through and the best match was the Creative Memories Green & Caribbean Blue.   Now where I pulled out some real oldies are the stickers!  Do you recognize the first Creative Memories stickers, still looking very "Mrs. Grossman"?  Here, I have put them on white cardstock, fussy cut, and put them on pop dots to give them a new look.  I also cut the papers with Spellbinders Hexagons and embossed them with the same.  I also embossed the bottom white layer with Stampin Up Hexagon embossing folder.  As I was designing it, I thought it would pair well with the Sketch~n~scrap current card sketch.

Two versions:

Tennessee, Tennessee there ain't no place I'd rather be...The Paper Loft Easy Breezy layout using the Creative Memories border maker

I love the Creative Memories border system and I am very sad there will be no more components to this system.  I am very happy to say I have all the cartridges!  The wave comes in handy a lot depending on your paper the look can vary.  Here I have used The Paper Loft Easy Breezy collection.

These are not actually MY pictures.  All of these were taken by my brother when he took the boy out on the river.  I love that he shared with me before I even left to go home from that trip.  He knows how important pictures are to me.

I love my brother!
