Happy Halloween! Washi Pumpkin Card with Graphic 45 Happy Haunting

Just a couple of days ago, I was looking for something and ran across several sheets of Graphic 45 Halloween paper!  Oh my, how could I have not used this yet?  I had to whip up a card with this great paper.  I loved the witches on the Pumpkin Time paper and went from there!  I also wanted to create a die cut with washi covered paper.  I meant to use the Tim Holtz movers and shapers face to go inside the pumpkin but in the end, I was happier without the face.

I found this sticker that matched the rest of the colors great, but it needed to pop, so I misted a doilie with Ditto black spray.

I also found this glittered acetate cat element from Recollections that seemed to fit.  I made another washi covered pumpkin out of black and white washi so I spritzed it with Heidi Swapp peach spray and a bit of Smooches pumpkin.

Ingredients:
Graphic 45 Happy Haunting Enchanted Garden & Pumpkin Time
Recollections glitter die cut
 washi tape
Heidi Swapp spray ink (on small pumpkin)
Smooches pumpkin spray ink
Sizzix Tim Holtz dies
peach shimmer card stock
brown velvet paper
misc sticker
doilie with Ditto spray ink
black card stock

Kiwi Lane & Authentique Spirited Collection

Good morning!  Alicia here for Kiwi Lane!  This month I had the most fun working with Authentique Paper!  It is such beautiful paper I don't want to cut it!  But that is best part of working with Kiwi Lane,  you can pick out the "prettiest" parts of the paper to use!  Which I did while making this very fun card in a box.  You can find many instructional videos on youtube to make this card or check back to my post from the first time I made one for more specifics.

I will admit that this box does not fit in an A2 envelope, but I intend to use it as a piece of home decor.  I used the Halloween templates for the ghost (1) and the large pumpkin (3).  I added doodles and "stitching" to all the cuts.

See how I cut the owl's wings from the lacy side of the wood paper?  I love how she turned out!  I used a Stampin' Up Raven lace for the eyelashes which I thought went perfect with the "lacy" wings and pumpkin.  I used Autumn 5 template for the owl.  I also used it to make the "wings" by tracing the outside, placing the point on the other side of the template and tracing the other "side".  I hope that makes sense.  Then I popped them up on pop dots.

On each side of the box I used a different shape,on this side I used Tiny holiday 2T for the leaf.

On the pumpkins, I did the same thing as the owl wings...I traced just part of the template to make a stem out to the wood grain paper. I also hung a cute brass charm from this pumpkin!  I used Tiny holiday 4T for the small pumpkin.

For the acorn,  I used the new Autumn 2 template with the Authentique paper that looks like wood (again) with doodles.

I added a little Delight! (4) to the bottom of the base of the box to dress it up a bit more.

I also added some Authentique Spirited stickers to the back.  Every thing is edged with Quick Quotes Midnight Confessions.

Ingredients:

Authentique Spirited Collection 6x6
Black Card stock
Kiwi Lane templates: Holiday 2T&4T Halloween 1&3, Autumn 2&5, Delight 4
Misc charm, bling and twine
Stampin Up raven lace

I also made a couple of cute cards with the Authentique Spirited die cut paper.

Ingredients:
Authentique Spirited Collection
Kiwi Lane templates: Delight 1 & Bracket 4T
charm, pop dots, fiber
black card stock

Ingredients:
Authentique Spirited collection
Kiwi Lane templates: Holiday 5T, Delight 4, 5, 6
miscellaneous charm, brads & twine
black card stock

Witching you a haunted Halloween with Lacy Sunshine's Kenna Wicked Witch Card

Today I have tried my hand at coloring a Lacy Sunshine image I won.  I don't think I am very good at it but Kenna the wicked witch is so cute!  I made this card for one of besties for Halloween.  I used American Craft alcohol markers and Wink of Stella gold and clear to color her.  I put her inside a Sizzix jar die cut with a run through the embossing folder that matches.  The bottom layer is vellum with a few sparkles and the top layer is acetate.  I also used some DCWV metallic silver card stock for the accents on the jar.

The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set, I stamped it on the same metallic paper using ditto purple ink and Recollections eggplant pearl embossing powder.  I punched it out using a Stampin Up punch.  I used the same jar die to cut a piece of white card stock for the rest of the Stampin Up sentiment inside.

I used a metallic silver pen to "drop" the spider down from the glossy sticker web.

Ingredients:
Lacy Sunshine digital image Kenna
Graphic 45 paper
DCWV card stock
vellum, acetate, black & white card stock
various washi tapes
Recollections ribbon and flower
Miscellaneous stickers and bling

Disney Blog Hop for Rett Syndrome

Happy Saturday
and
Welcome to this year's Blog Hop for...
Rett Syndrome Awareness

In this hop we will be showing you many Disney themed projects while sharing with you about
Rett Syndrome.
If you have just stopped by my blog to visit with me, thank you and welcome, but please start at the beginning of the hop with our
Hostess, Robin from
Create-A-Latte.
We would not want you to miss any of these wonderful projects.

So, grab yourself a Latte', sit back and hop along with us as we share our projects with you.
October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month, so I wanted to help get the word out and what better way to do that than with a blog hop.

Rett Syndrome strikes without warning. A girl with Rett Syndrome usually starts out as a happy and healthy baby. Then something goes terribly wrong. She loses the ability to speak, she can't use her hands to play with toys, or to even feed herself, and she may lose the ability to walk.
Despite their physical disabilities, girls with Rett Syndrome are believed to be functioning mentally at a much higher level than previously thought.
Rett Syndrome is caused by a mutation of the MECP2  gene on the X chromosome.
Rett Syndrome is found in all racial and ethnic groups throughout the world, and in every socioeconomic class.
Rett  Syndrome affects in 15,000 female births.

*Symptoms of Rett Syndrome...

Rett Syndrome is a genetic neurological disorder that affects girls between 6 and 18 months of age. This regressive disease leads to lifelong handicaps, including loss of speech and voluntary muscle control, and is often misdiagnosed as Cerebral Palsy or Autism. Symptoms range from mild to severe, and almost always include...
*Developmental Regression or Plateau
*Near constant hand clasping or wringing
*Severe communication impairment
*Breathing problems
*Digestive issues
*Floppy arms and legs
*If able to walk, then with a shaky, unsteady gait, or toe-walking. But most do end up using a wheelchair for the most part.
*Scoliosis
*Seizures
*Slowing head growth
*Abnormal sleep patterns
*Transient loss of social engagement
*Poor circulation that can lead to cold and bluish arms and legs
*Anxiety

Many individuals with Rett Syndrome live well into adulthood, although there are some that do not get that chance and end up losing their battle to Rett Syndrome at a very early age.
Most people including Doctors are not aware of Rett Syndrome, so, please help me get the word out about Rett Syndrome and hopefully the more that know the faster we can help in finding a cure.

Without further ado...Our Disney Projects.

I created a scene from Alice in Wonderland.  I started by creating a background with inks and daubers.  I used a cloud stencil for the sky and a grass for the lower half but that all got covered up by my Kiwi Lane cuts.  I cut several pieces from white card stock using my Kiwi Lane templates and spritzed and spray for some lovely colors.  Then I layered with some chunky glitter and pieces of round punched paper.

The caterpillar is cut from the Classic Disney Cricut cart,  as is one of the mushrooms.  The mushroom "set" was cut from Freshly Picked.  I used a variety of papers:  bazzil card stock, foil, glitter and shimmer papers.

I doodled a bit on the "bread and butterflies".  I also used my brand new Joy craft die for the mushroom border.  I made several cuts and layered them.  I also painted my "bargain" ceramic mushroom from Michael's to match.  I plan on displaying them together in my new craft room soon.

Ingredients:

Cricut Carts: Disney Classic & Freshly Picked
Kiwi Lane Designer Templates:  Nature 1T, 2T, 5T; Floral 1T, 3T; Paradise 6
Joy Craft Mushroom landscape die
Kite stencil: Puffy clouds
Colorbox Blue lagoon, Lemongrass & Citrine pigment inks
Tattered Angels, Dylusions, Ditto & Ranger Spritz and Spray inks

I hope you enjoyed my bright Alice page!

Kiwi Lane Owl Card

Today's card uses another one of my Judikins Mica Gloss back grounds.  It is fall colors on a black glossy card stock...I thought it would look good as the owl's body.  But I wanted something to perk it up and I ran across a package of sequins I purchased a month or so ago...I had never used sequins.  First I used them in place of brads on yesterday's card and on this card, I spent a bit more time layering different colors for the owls belly.  I don't think you can tell at all the time I spent glueing those suckers down in a pattern!

I used paper for the nose and lace for the eye "lashes". The owl, tree branch, moon and tag are all cut with Kiwi Lane templates.  I embossed the background with a Sizzix starry embossing folder.  I don't think the pictures do this card justice.  The moon is an old Creative Memories gold paper and is very reflective as were the sequins, paired with the dark brown old and background paper, the camera just didn't get the colors well.

Another teaser...can't wait to show you my Kiwi Lane DT post this month!

Ingredients:
Kiwi Lane templates:  Tag 6T, Ring 2, Autumn 5&6
Judikins Mica gloss
Sequins
Amber & Bronze metallic card stock
glitter paper
Stampin Up Eat, Drink & Be Merry sentiment
Mix'd Media black ink
Judikins black detail
Stampin Up raven lace
Authentique Spirited paper

Sizzix stars embossing folder

Sisterhood of Crafters Step Sister (Guest Designer) Post Fall Colors

October 2014

I am so excited about my second installment as a Step Sister @ The Sisterhood of Crafters!  This biweekly challenge is fall colors.  The possiblities are endless!

I started my project with a Cricut cut from Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons.  I used some pretty fall colored papers and was very excited to use my orange foil paper, you just can't see the beauty from the picture.  I used the same paper as the outer layer to make those shiny leaves pop!  I also used 4 orange sequins instead of my go to brads.  This was my first sit down with sequins...this was simple. I am really excited about my first "sequin project" that I also finished during this sitting, be looking for that post soon!

I used the same papers for the layers as the die cut but I needed something else...I found this orange meshy paper...it was exactly what this project needed!

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons Cricut cut
W R Memory Orange wash paper
Orange foil paper
Assorted other papers
Sizzix Marakesh label die
sequins
