More Quick Quotes cards with Ombre feathers

I made several cards for my Quick Quotes Ombre card post.  I wanted to show off all of them!

This card is made with  Celebrate 300 and Celebrate 200 paper.  The ombre is Quick Quotes Sky Blue and Hydrangea.  I also used K & Co stickers on almost every card.  This one has a butterfly that says Hope which is the word with which the Quick Quotes vellum quote begins.

I went to Catalina Island collection for this one just like I feature in my primary Quick Quotes post.  I used a fancy brad instead of the K & Co embellie.  I also used several of the "oranges" in the Quick Quote family of chalking inks to color the chipboard die cut.

On these next couple of cards, I used  the Gypsy Road collection. The ombre inks are Peach Tree PowderPuff Chalking Ink and Sunset PowderPuff Chalking Inks.  I used American Craft ribbon on the first one and Stampin Up Crumb cake on the second.

Finally, I have the first few cards I made.  I used Joy Ride 300 and Joy Ride 100 paper.  I chalked the chipboard in Warm Sand PowderPuff Chalking Ink, they are very similar colors.  The ombre colors are Warm Sand PowderPuff Chalking Ink and Evergreen PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  The fiber is Stampin Up Crumb Cake sheer scallop.

The difference in this card is instead of warm sand I used Seafoam with the Evergreen chalking ink. I also used a burlap chevron on this one.

On all the cards I used Stampin Up Banner framelit to frame the Quick Quotes vellum sentiment.  And most of the cards I used Spellbinders Grand Label One's.  Also all the cards are made on a 6x6 square format.

Ombre Technique with Quick Quotes 2015 Inks

Hello Quick Quotes readers!  Alicia with you today to present you with some samples of an ombre stamping technique.  I had so much fun playing with the new 2015 PowderPuff Chalking Inks. I tried to use all the colors!

The Sunset and Sky Blue PowderPuff Chalking Inks worked perfectly with the Catalina Island papers!  This is actually the last card I did with my ombre feathers I made and I liked it best.  I not only used the inks to stamp the images and distress the edges but to color the chip board element as well.

Close up of the gorgeous feathers:

Quick Quotes Products used:

Other ingredients:
American Craft sheer ribbon
Stampin Up Four Feathers and matching dies
Chip board cut with Stampin Up Banner framelits
Spellbinders Grand Nestibilities Label one

So here is how I created the ombre effect using Hydrangea and Sky Blue PowderPuff Chalking Inks:

  1. Ink with the lighter color first
  2. With a cloth wipe away some of the first color as to create a blending effect
  3. Tap the uncolored portion of the stamp with second color lightly in the overlap area and more in the uncolored space
  4. Stamp your image
  5. Repeat

Here are more examples that I created with all the feathers I made:

Congratulations! Stamped and embossed with The Paper Loft Shades of Gray

I created this love/wedding themed card for a card swap.  I wanted to use a variety of techniques and textures.  I embossed the silver hearts and the silver sentiment.  The top note layer is stamped with a large stamp going "off the edge".  I used die cuts and fussy cuts generously inking all the edges for plenty of distress.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  Alicia here today for Quick Quotes!  I have used the new Joy Ride collection to create a few side step cards to celebrate the holiday!  My first dilemma was 3 leaves or four?  I made a version of both, however, it did prompt me to do a little research on the subject.  I found that the shamrock is the three leaf version and is the official symbol of Ireland.  The shamrock refers to one distinct variety of clover.  The four leaf clover can be found in all varieties of clover and is very rare compared to the shamrock and therefore, is a symbol of good luck.

Basic Instructions for the side step cut:
  • cut paper to 8.5"x 5.5"
  • make a cut 3" from the long edge that starts at 1" and goes to 6.5"
  • on the 3" side score at 1"(where the cut begins), 2", 3.25", 4.5" and 6.5"
  • on the 2,5" side score at 4.25"
  • fold the 3" side accordion style and use a bone folder to sharpen creases

I made this version with four leaf clovers cut with my Cricut.  I cut Joy Ride 400  and then colored it with both Seafoam PowderPuff Chalking Ink and Evergreen PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  The small details really add to the card for instance the floss in the buttons.

The shamrocks are made with heart punches.  I punched 6 hearts and folded three.  I fully adhered the bottom layer of three and only put adhesive on half of the folded hearts to create a three dimensional shamrock.

Picture Perfect Blog Hop

Welcome to the Picture Perfect Blog Hop! We encourage you to take a moment this week to print out those precious memories that are stored away in our phones and computers. With digital photography, I have taken tons of pictures but am so far behind on my scrapbooking. Printing them off will not only preserve them but encourage me to go ahead and tell the story of my life events.

In appreciation of your visit today, I am giving away this little bundle of blog candy! Simply visit, comment and follow each of the blogs below to be entered to win! Check back right here on this post Wednesday March 18th to see if you are the winner!

I recently updated from the old Creative Memories software to the Panstoria versions:  Artisan and Historian.  Panstoria is the original creator of the CM software.  I have a Pixels2pages membership and I downloaded the last few months freebies and caught up on my digital organization.  I used this wonderful picture of my grandmother that I scanned and a free kit Vintage Memories from Panstoria!  I love it and it was free!!!

Ingredients:
Panstoria Vintage Memories kit (free)
AR Decode font
Cottage Arts scrapedge lace
Creative Memories grunge overlay

I will be printing this as I have an Epson R2000 that prints 12x12, a splurge I made a few years ago with which I have been nothing but happy!  I have especially liked it for such projects as above when my family sees this they will all want copies and it will be so easy to print!

Thank you so much for taking the time to hop with us today. Your next stop is Shavon!!

Sketch N Scrap Twistback Thursday Sketch Challenge

I love the sketch for Twistback Thursday at Sketch N Scrap, I love my pictures and I love where I drew my inspiration for the colors but I am not sure I am happy with the end result.  The twist this month is to use ONLY white card stock but you can color, ink or paint it any color you want.

I drew the inspiration for the colors from the daily soup signs that would hang in the doorway at Myra's.  Myra's Dionysis was a little veggie friendly restaurant in my neighborhood within walking distance.  Her made from scratch soups hit the spot on a cold winter day.  So many times lately I have wanted to go there but alas Myra had to retire someday...some former employees are trying to open back up in another location.  They are planning on publishing a recipe book of her delicious soups!  I can't wait.  My favorite was Curry Peanut and my hubby's was Veggie Miso.

I loved inking up my veggies from Freshly picked.  I really like how they turned out.

I liked my little gnome lady, too, I made her hair gray like Myra's.

Here's the sketch:

Ingredients:
White card stock
Radiant Rain Autumn leaves
Ranger butterscotch
Quick Quotes powder puff chalks:
Soft sage, green with envy, evergreen, purple passion, plum crazy, rusty nail, creamy cocoa, antique linen, brandwine, feather gray, latte, warm sand, red hot, fuscia, sunset, mango mai tai, buttercup

Recollections vintage black ink
Close to my Heart:  Alpha D1418 & Illuminate

Quick Quotes Catalina Island Honeymoon layout

Alicia here today, dreaming about sun and sand.  I am so over the snow!!  I am using the new Catalina Island from Quick Quotes to show off my honeymoon pics at Sandals in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  I am so excited, we are getting ready to go back in April and  I cannot wait!!!

I love fussy cutting, it can be tedious but worth the effort to get matching embellishments.  All fussy cuts look so much better edged with Quick Quote chalking inks.  I think these flowers turned out beautiful cut from Catalina Island 100.  I popped them up with dots.  I also love how the chevron border turned out by fussy cutting Catalina Island 300.

I used some of the Catalina Island 100 scraps that were primarily white to layer the Catalina Island Die Cut Stickers and pop them up, too.

Ingredients:

other ingredients:
Queen & Co orange gems
misc gems and flowers
