Quick Quotes Sunset layout

Alicia here today with a sunset layout from my recent trip to Jamaica.  I thought the beautiful peach papers in the new Windsong Paper Pack highlighted the glowing sunset at the beach.  I added several different papers and used various border makers and cutting templates to create interesting shapes while still focusing on my photos.

I used an ombre technique on the grunge board letters.  I started with the lightest Desert Sun PowderPuff Chalking Ink, next I chalked with Peach Tree PowderPuff Chalking Ink and finally the darkest Sunset PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  The effect is very sublte as are the shades in the Windsong Paper Pack.

Creative Memories Virtual Crop projects

On Saturday I played along with the Creative Memories Virtual Crop.  I completed all 6 of the challenges.  You can find the specifics here.  This first layout uses Kiwi Lane Designer templates and the Creative Memories Peacock Power Palette.  I would like to enter it in the The Studio Challenge (open until 4/9) to cover half the page with patterned paper.

I completed several pages in my honeymoon album.  These two using Creative Memories Peacock Power Palette.  The end is in sight!

I would like to enter the layout below in the following challenge:

I won top 3!

I was pleased the least with this card.  The stamp messed up a little even with my Misti.  I needed to post by the timed deadline so I left it.  I have thought about stamping again and putting on top with pop dots to fix the problem.

This challenge was for a border, I turned it into a layout that I will reveal soon.

This is the one layout that is not from my honeymoon album.  The challenge involved pinwheels and I already had these red, white and blue ones made from a Quick Quotes monthly kit last year.

Back to my honeymoon and this challenge was a sketch with the twist to create a custom made background.  I used some very old papers and a hex punch.  I would like to enter this layout in the following challenge:

Thanks so much for taking a peek at some quickly made projects.  I feel like I accomplished a lot!

Life is better with friends

Alicia with you today with more of the Frantic Stamper doggy dies.  I used Trixie and Spot on this card. I used  Frantic Stamper Dies Stitched Grassy Hills and some Avery Elle Pierced Clouds to finish off the scene.

Instead of coloring the dogs, this time I used paper and chalk to create some shadows.  I did color Spot's spots, the tennis ball and the dog collar.

I used alcohol inks and colored the peacock layer after layer.  I cut my leaves out of vellum and inked on the backside of them.  I added some yellow distress glitter to the center of the flowers.

Thank you card using Paper Play Sketch #38

Happy Day!  Here's a second card using the same card kit as yesterday. I used a current sketch challenge from Paper Play Sketches and created this sweet card.

Here's the sketch I used:

I received almost all the materials in the card from Cheryl Phillips in a card swap kit.  The sentiment is a Cricut cut from Baby Shower.  I used my own vanilla textured card base and some ribbon from Quick Quotes.

A birdie hello with Freshly Made Sketch #279

Happy Sunday!  I had a chance to play a bit this weekend.  I am not able to lift or move around much so I had some card kits handy on my desk to play with when I felt well enough.  I thought this turned out pretty.

Here's the sketch I used:

Most of the ingredients for this card came from a card kit swap I received from Cheryl Phillips.
I added them to my own vanilla textured card stock base.  I added the ribbon and the wood embellishment.  I colored the hello with Quick Quotes Carribean Blue chalking ink.

Quick Quotes Beauty in bloom

Good morning Quick Quotes readers!  Alicia blogging today with a long and lovely spring card.  The new Mulberry Paper Pack has the most versatile papers.  This beautiful floral print was the perfect starting point for a spring flower card.

I used three dimensional dies to create these flowers. Here's the steps I took:
  1. Cut paper with various dies
  2. Ink edges with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks
  3. Roll the flower around a skewer for these tiny flowers
  4. Use a drop of hot glue at the base to keep the flower in place
  5. Allow to cool and shape the petals with your fingers
  6. Ink edges with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks again!
  7. Insert a drop of glue and pearl bead in the center
  8. Adhere to project with glue dots

Here's an even closer look at these flowers.  They are so much fun to make, I get carried away and have several left for another project.  I also added a pearl to the center of Unique Rustic Patina Metal Embellishment flower.

The Sky is the Limit

Good morning!  Alicia with your inspiration today.  I have a created a Spring scene with several dies from the Dies R Us store.  I started with Lawn Fawn Stitched Kite dies and designed from that element.

On my first card, I cut my kite out twice, once in silver and once in a stamped image.  I then inlaid the stamped version in the frame of the silver.

On this second card, I used a stamped frame from one die and a solid kite background from another die.  There are so many options with this set.  I kept a little bag of extra parts for the next time I play with my kite die.
