Happy thoughts...Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello, I present to you my inspiration for this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  The first product I knew I was picking up was my Stampin Up/EK Success Scallop border punch.  It is a great go to tool.  Then I had to pick a paper selection.  I keep my 6x6 paper stacks on top of a 3 tier cart next to my desk.  I can easily flip through and this stack caught my eye.  I picked it up slightly used at a yard sale.  It has such fresh beautiful colors.

Here's the sketch from  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I pulled out an oldie but goodie sentiment from Avocado Arts.  I went in search of a link but it appears they haven't had a presence since 2016?!?!  I worked a make and take at their booth way back in the day at Mega Meet in Novi, MI.

This Prima pearl embellishment worked wonderfully on top of a fussy cut plaque from the papers.  Both of which are stacked on a piece from the stack die cut with a Spellbinders label die.

Ingredients:
Teresa Collins Tell Your Story 6x6 papers
Prima say it with pearls
Stampin Up scallop border punch
Spellbinders label die
Avocado Arts sentiment stamp
Versa Magic Pumpkin Spice

Cricut Total Sports Golf Layout

Hello and welcome to the latest Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge all about banners!  I used a couple of different kinds of banners on my sporty layout.  First I cut a flag style banner for the title and then I cut several straight banners from the Bits and Pieces cartridge.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

I used the Total Sports cartridge for the cart, title and golf club images.  I used the default sizing.  I do not know where I got this double sided green card stock but it is lighter on one side.  I have found it endlessly beneficial when creating subtle shadow images.

I put a bits and pieces banner behind the title banner for a little extra definition.

The golf clubs were super cute and fun to piece together.  I cut the banners at 5"-6" but ended up cutting them shorter since they were tucked behind a photo.  I found this perfect printed paper in a Creative Memories Sports stack.  It added the perfect pop.

Ingredients:
Cricut Total Sports and Bits and Pieces
Creative Memories Sports printed paper
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink Midnight Confessions
misc card stock

I used my Cricut Explore Air to create this RV from the Simple Pop-Up cartridge.  I added lots of my own details.  First I used pieces of yellow card stock behind the "stripe".  I placed acetate behind the window openings.

I added several layers to the tires.  I used a circle punch to create perfectly sized pieces.  I colored the black portion.  I also inked the luggage rack on top with brown.  I inked all the edges prior to adhering to the card.

I used a printed map paper on the back of the card.

Be sure to hop over to my friend Shannon She has something wonderful to share!

Sketch N Scrap Aloha Card

Hello, today I have a summery card inspired by a couple of challenges.  I was really groovin on the Give the Crafter a Cookie inspiration.  I stamped and die cut a dozen fruits.  I made three of these pineapples which worked perfect for the Sketch N Scrap card sketch.

Here is a close up of my pineapples.  I used a single die but did two cuts one fully yellow and one partial green.  I trimmed the extra off to fit on the yellow pineapple.  I inked the die cuts to provide even more dimension.

I used an ink pen to create the dotted line along either side of the yellow dotted blue paper.

Ingredients:
Fancy Pants Wave Searcher 6x6 papers
Sizzix Jen Long Phrases Happy & Pineapple
Stamplorations Aloha stamp
Distress ink Peeled Paint
Our Daily Bread Designs stitched rectangle die
Quick Quotes Banana Bliss Powderpuff chalking ink
misc card stock

Summer Watermelon Card and Salad Recipe

I love this Little Yellow Bicycle Vintage Summer paper stack so much, I have to admit I hoard it.  But sometimes it is just perfect for a theme.  The papers really remind me of summers as a child.  The watermelon brings back memories of going to the garden to pick a watermelon and bringing to my grandmother to cut.  Boy, did she love to salt it.  I don't care for salt but I will sprinkle it on sometimes for nostalgia.

Making this watermelon card makes me want to make this awesome Watermelon Salad with cucumber, mint and feta.  It sounds strange but it is such a unique combination and completely refreshing!  That is how I prefer my watermelon these days.

The Cheery Lynn Summer Drink die set has so many neat dies.  The watermelon is 2 pieces but the rind cuts into two pieces.  I used a two side card stock with a light side and dark side.  Perfect for the detail of the rind!  I added an extra layer by lining with black card stock for the seeds.  I should have added Judikins Diamond Glaze to the seeds for dimension.  I may go back and do that step.

Ingredients:
Cheery Lynn Summer Drink die set
Karen Burniston Word Set 6-Summer
Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles Large die
Little Yellow Bicycle Vintage Summer 6x6 paper
Quick Quotes Barn board and Green with Envy Powderpuff Chalking ink

This is Living: Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

It's time for new inspiration for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This is another card where everything was lying around my desk.  I purchased some scrap planner pieces from my favorite little store.  If you are in the greater Cincinnati area, you should check out Indigo Hippo.  It's an thrift store for art supplies. The prices are suggested but you pay what you can.  It is a great place to try a new things!  I try to visit about once a week.  Donations come in weekly, so inventory is constantly changing.  I recognized these papers and embellishments from a Recollections collection a few years ago.  I have some matching stamps but found everything I needed for my card on my desk save the strip of washi tape I chose for my dividing strip.

Here's this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

A close up of the sentiment embellishment.  I stacked on top of a die cut scrap of white paper.

Ingredients:
Recollections supplies
washi tape
white card stock
Tutti Cross Stitch Nesting Squares

Anything But a Card Challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2

Good morning, it's time for another challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 Anything But A Card.  I didn't have a problem with this challenge at all...I have been putting off some t-shirt projects, so the timing was great.  I created the first tee for a young family member.  If you follow my blog you would know I created the onesie for his new brother a couple of weeks ago.  I had to make a trip to Joann's for some new tees.  The better are stores are a bit further from my home (more selection).  It has taken me a couple of weeks to make the trip, but I waited until the perfect time!  Blank tees and vinyl were doorbusters this past weekend.

Here are both projects for the boys.  I used the FREE Cricut Basic Shape image for the word Brother and the Creative Memories Be Young font.  Now to get them in the mail!

Ingredients:
Mark Richards Iron On Black and White Vinyl
Creative Memories Be Young-Be Free Font (little)
Cricut Font and Basic Shapes (brother)
Gray Onesie

My second project was a tee for my husband. Frankly, I chose this image to challenge my weeding skills.  It wasn't too bad and it turned out great.  I used the new Cricut gray sport flex vinyl I bought at Joann's although it appears white in the photo.

A closer look at my weeding.

Ingredients:
Cricut Sport Flex Vinyl
Black Tee shirt

I hope I have inspired you to use your Cricut for something beside paper for this challenge. Don't forget to play along with us at Bitten By the Bug 2 for the next two weeks.

Orange you great! Close to My Heart One in a Melon card

Good morning, I have been working in my craft room a lot lately.  I just haven't gotten a chance to take photos and blog.  I created this one first with inspiration from the sketch below.  I then proceeded to create a bunch of fruit with stamps and dies, if you are a regular reader you may see some similar themed projects.  I have not used the orange again YET.

I paired this with some old Creative Memories paper that I picked up at a yard sale recently.  I always liked these bright stripes.  It is super easy to match up with blues, greens, purples, or oranges.  The other papers were scraps on my desk.  I love to use things just lying around.  The only thing I had to dig up for this project was the ink.  Finding the perfect orange was a little hard.  I tried Distress Spiced Marmalade and Carved Pumpkin but went with the Spiced Marmalade.

Here is the sketch I used from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

Ingredients:
Close to My Heart One in a Melon
Spiced Marmalade Distress ink
Creative Memories paper and circle punch
pierced label die
assorted card stock
bling
