Hero Arts You're a Fungi with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Welcome to my blog today and my latest Atlantic Hearts challenge inspiration card.  I recently purchased this paper pad and embellishment pack.  I can't remember where, Target?  Ollies?  I am trying to think where I was shopping before Xmas.  I loved it, I even got my friends some of this adorable paper.  I adore mushrooms and found this sentiment to be the perfect size to die cut.

Here is this week's sketch.

I stamped the sentiment in Tip Top Taupe and cut it out with a die.  I popped it up to allow for the twine underneath.  Finally I adhered the chipboard sticker to the top of the sentiment.

Ingredients:
Violet Studios 6x6 paper and chipboard stickers
Hero Arts You're a Fungi stamp set
Stampin Up Tip Top Taupe
Stampin Up Sizzix Apothecary Accents die
misc cardstock
Colorbox Chestnut Roan cat's eye ink
twine

A Muse Be Wild with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Welcome to my inspiration for this week's  Atlantic Hearts Challenge.sketch.  I am playing with a paper kit I purchased second hand at Scrap it Up.  I love to shop creative reuse stores, I feel so lucky to have two within a few miles of my home.  Scrap it up is a little bit further and I only get up there about once a month on Saturdays.  I also purchased the A muse stamp and die set second hand at a crafty yard sale held semi annually in my city.  It seems like I hardly purchase anything new, although I have some holiday hauls on the way from Scrapbook.com, Heartfelt Creations, Office Supply.com and eBay but I guess some of those are second hand as well.

Here's the sketch.

Suffice to stay, since this is a second hand paper kit I don't know the brands.  The reverse of the owl paper is the woodgrain.  The card base was also a piece in the kit, it was a nice thick embossed dot single sided card stock with white inside, perfect for a card base.  I did find the coordinating green paper in my own stash.  However, as I write this post I realize all the green owls are cover up!  I matched the paper before I die cut.  I should have matched the blue owls.

Ingredients:
A muse stamps Be Wild stamps
Stampin Up Close to Cocoa ink
Spellbinders Classic Square dies
Colorbox Chestnut Roan cat's eye for edging
paper from my stash
pop dots

You have until Sunday night to play along with this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Challenge.

Thanks for reading my blog today.

Tim Holtz Paper Dolls with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Happy New Year!  I brought in the new year with great friends and I was inspired to create a retro friend card.  I used some Graphic 45 and Tim Holtz while leaning on a good ol' Stampin Up sentiment.  I friend got this SU set for me at a resale shop recently.  This is the first time I am using it.

Here is this week's sketch.  I chose to cut a piece of paper and rip it into 3 pieces instead of 3 different papers.  I did take a few millimeters of paper out to allow for some space.

I colored the paper dolls with my finger tip.  I didn't care to be precise.  I was going to spray with a mister anyway.  I went behind with a dry paint brush to take the ink off the skin areas.

I stamped the background image and distressed with Brilliance Lightning Black which had a metallic hue when hit by the light. The stamp was an afterthought...the card seemed to "flat" and not distressed enough for me...so I removed the dolls and sentiment stamped the cool image very lightly and readhered the elements.

Ingredients:
Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk paper
Tim Holtz Paper Dolls
Stampin Up Special Reason stamps and dies
Tim Holtz Ripe Persimmon Distress and Distress Oxide and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide inks
Momento Tuxedo Black ink
Rubber Stampede Travel Map stamp
Brilliance Black Lightning ink
black pen
charcoal card stock
pop dots and tape runner adhesive
