Hi! Alicia, here, for today's Kiwi Lane design team post. I had so much fun working with the products from Mon Ami Gabby. At first I was a little challenged to use their products with Kiwi Lane templates, but it turned out so well, I did two projects!
My first project is an altered letter A. I was gifted this paper mache letter from Hobby Lobby through a secret sister program, I can't wait to show her how it turned out! I painted a couple of coats of white despite the fact I was covering it with paper and I am glad I did. For instance the "triangle" inside of the A was a bit tight, I could have lined it with paper but was I happier leaving it white. I did, however, cover the bottom, sides, top and the underside of the "triangle" with a Recollections paper pad called Pretty as a Peacock. I try not to purchase too many paper pads these days, but I "had" to have this one especially when it was half price! I love peacock feathers, embellishments and paper but really haven't used it because it is too pretty. I know I have had it for at least a year. Well, since this is MY letter and I can look at if forever, so I used that pretty paper!
For the Kiwi Lane product I used the featured Playtime template set. Playtime 4 was the first template that I was dying to use because I love dragonflies so much, but I had not had the occasion to use it yet. I also used Nature 1T for the leaves and since the flowers were green I made the leaves blue!
One of my favorite things about the Kiwi Lane designer templates is that you can select exactly which section of paper you want no matter where it is on the page! Here, I have placed the template so that the peacock "eyes" are in just the right place!
I also doodled a bit on my dragonflies to give them more dimension. And I crumpled and chalked the leaves to "pop" them up.
Ingredients:
Kiwi Lane: Playtime 4 & Nature 1T
Mon Ami Gabby: flowers and gem twigs
Paper Studio paper mache A
Recollections Pretty as a Peacock paper
Jolee's blue puffy flourish stickers
Recollections frosted dots
Blue gelly roll pen
Queen & Co pearls
Quick Quotes Blue Jean chalk
Colorbox Lime pastel ink
Adhesives: glue dots, ATG, pop dots
My second project is a TPC Chipboard frame that I turned into more of a shadowbox. I was hesitant to use the butterflies on a "boy" project, but since they were brown I figured it was okay. I think it turned out awesome! The pictures are a few years old but these are some of my favorite pictures of my son ever! I have also made a pendant out of the small picture that I wear often. I think the plaid CTMH paper lends a masculinity. I also distressed most of the embellishments. I crumpled and inked all the Kiwi Lane cuts to distress them. I made the background the pictures are on from the Celebrate 7T cut from many of the CTMH papers then spritzed it generously. I also spritzed the flowers and crepe paper to dull them up and be more boyish. I think I will elaborate more on this project in another post. I really put a lot of work into it.

I used Clara lane 3B on the crepe paper while bunched up and Celebrate 6T for the banners out of two different papers.
