April Showers Blog Hop with Scraps by Gracie

April 23

We're so glad you are hopping with us today.
We've got all kinds of great baby and bridal shower related crafts and ideas for you.

You should have arrived here from Jearise's blog.

if you just stopped by, be sure to hop to the Theresa's blog at scrapsbygracie.blogspot.com
to get started and not miss any of the great projects.

Now on with the projects.

I made this mini for my new nephew's arrival with We R Storytime papers and embellishments.  I added a few ribbons and cut with some papers with Kiwi Lane templates and other die cut tools.  Since I started this mini from scratch, I was able to add many hidden pockets, pull outs and tags.  I used 12x12 pages that were sectioned into 6x6's.  So this album is 6x6 with holes punched for rings.  The covers are chipboard covered with the papers, the inside are layered papers.

Page one and two are like an open book!  Underneath the frog was a "happily ever after" so I covered that part with the frog tag.

I love these two pages with a pocket on each side!

and more pages:

Here's a detail of a tag inserted in between the pages:

I just loved the cloud paper and used it on quite a few pages and the insert!

Here's a half page flap, edged with a Kiwi Lane template:

open:

Another simple page but with a tag inside:

I liked my little bird pages:

And the final pages (also an open book).  This time I covered the "once upon a time" and left the "happily ever after" exposed.

And the back cover.  I made this page with the full 12x12 version of the castle and cut it down to 6x6 with the castle in the middle.

So I didn't actually attend a shower. My in laws live a few hours away and since this was an adoption, it went down very suddenly...well, more like a hurry up and wait but we went down to see the new baby during his first month!  Even though I did not give this at a shower it was a gift with that intent.  A fairy tale mini would be a great idea to give the expectant mother or an expectant adoptive mother...our fairy tale ending!  We are blessed!
