Welcome, Baby Shaker card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Hello and welcome to my latest inspiration for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #334.  I made a welcome card for a baby.  I spent my time decorating with The Robyn's Nest drops, although they don't look that straight in the photos.

Here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts challenge blog.

I created this card with the following steps:
  1. Cut a window with double stitched rectangle dies leaving a nice stitched window.
  2. Cut the patterned paper background 4.20" x 5.5", with just a little room inside for the fold.
  3. Layer acetate behind the window.
  4.  Layer foam around the inside edge, add confetti and adhered the patterned paper.
  5. Cut the sentiment with Cricut Maker and adhere across front of window.
  6. Arrange drops around outside edge of window.

A close up of the card.

Grandparent's Day with Bitten By the Bug 2

Hello and welcome to Bitten By the Bug 2's Grandparent's Day Challenge.  In looking at photos for this challenge, I found this great old photo of my grandparents at the beach...so 50's.  So images from the Suburbia Cricut cartridge were perfect!  I used the man and woman in swimsuits, the surfboard, the beach title and the retro glasses.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

I punched card stock a couple of times and layered to create a shadow for my shape.  The first time I cut the man's suit and towel in the patterned paper but it was too busy.  I switched up and used this dusty blue Distress Core'dinations card stock.

The sunglasses were my favorite part to cut.  I must admit I lost one of the tiny details.  So I cut it several more times, now I have a few pairs for the next project.

Ingredients:
Suburbia Cricut cartidge
The Storytellers Club papers and die cuts
Stampin Up Badge punch
card stock including Bazzill and Core'dinations

My family doesn't go out to the movies very often, but I do love to watch a good movie.  My husband makes fun of all the old black and white movies I watch, asking why I like all those TCM movies.  My love of old movies began when I grew up outside of Atlanta watching TBS, basically these same old movies on the weekend.  My favorite was always Some like it hot.  I actually own it so I can see it any time.

To create my layout I took the following steps:

  • Ink edges of all pieces to start as as you go along
  • Layer Movie acetate over 12x12 white card stock
  • Cut Starring Role paper into strips, I cut the film roll and the starring role strips, also a tiny strip of film roll numbers for vertical layer
  • Fussy cut stars from Starring Role paper
  • Layer photo on white card stock with 1/8" border
  • Cut 10" white strip to layer behind photo and use as journal strip
  • Place strip of black bling along bottom of film strip paper across top of page
  • Pierce holes for fancy brads
  • Scatter multiple sizes of clear bling to highlight photo and star cluser

Here's a photo of my cluster:

A close up of my journaling.

Creative Memories Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Time for my next inspiration card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I have a few weddings coming up and I have used up most of my stash.  I used the Creative Memories Enchanted Power palette as part of my wedding album and find the colors have a fresh bright elegance.

Here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This week I turned the sketch to suit my design.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Stampin Up using white ink and powder on black paper.  I used the coordinating punch for a precious cut.  I layered three flowers from the CM collection.  The sticker border was also part of the CM collection.

My card is A2, therefore, I cut my base patterned paper to 4 1/8'x5 3/8" leaving a small white border, I inked all my edges so it is no longer exactly white.  I layered my sticker border and washi tape on the background before I adhered it to my card base for a perfect fit.  It is so easy to snip off any excess prior to adhesion.  I layered the flower and placed a gem in the center.  I inked all the flower edges, too.  I used pop dots behind the sentiment.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Enchanted Power Palette including papers, sticker ribbon,  and flowers
Stampin Up Label Love sentiment and coordinating punch
Recollections Snow embossing powder and gem
washi tape from my stash
Quick Quotes Midnight Confessions Powderpuff Chalking ink

Miss Kate Cuttables-Get Outside! Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge

Welcome to Bitten By the Bug 2's latest challenge, today in the United State we celebrate Labor Day.  As most American's celebrate the day off and the extra long weekend with some outdoor festivities, the challenge for the next two weeks is to use your Cricut machine to Get Outside!  This theme leaves a lot of room for variety such as camping, hiking, swimming, boating, outdoor sporting events or concerts, a picnic or BBQ, or family reunion.  In Cincinnati, we have an annual fireworks display on Sunday night before Labor Day.

I have created a card using some Miss Kate Cuttables images.

The bear was just too cute to put in the tent.  I had to cut the outline three times with different papers until I found one that stayed strong, Bazzill.

Ingredients:
Miss Kate Cuttables  Mountain Range and Bear with tent
Stamplorations die cut Be Kind
Our Daily Bread Designs stitched rectangle dies
Cosmo Cricket S'more Love 8x8 paper stack
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks
misc card stock including Bazzill

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to play along with Bitten By the Bug 2 for the next two weeks.
