Fly Over the Rainbow! Kindred Stamps

Welcome!  I could not let this month go by without a rainbow card.  However, this one is a bit on the dark side.  I used some darker paper scraps to create this unique rainbow.  I also added used some Kindred Stamps on the inside.

A peek of the inside.

I thought a darker image was appropriate for the inside.  I created the sentiment by using pieces of the sentiments in the set.

Ingredients:
Sizzix Fold-a-long Rainbow card die
Kindred Stamps Journey Home stamps
Various alcohol markers
Versamark black ink

Shining before me like a moonbeam concert layout for Sketches in Thyme

Hello and welcome.  Today I am creating for Sketches in Thyme. I am still working on my Connecticut trip from 2020.  I started with some recent papers I purchased second hand and my Kiwi Lane templates. I thought the sketch called for their wavy templates.  I will also state these are not my photos, they are professional and I left the watermark on the photos.  They were much better photos than I got at this show.  I had front row...well that's a whole story but I ended up on the back row!  So far away but it was 2020, I did NOT care.  I was in my square watching LIVE music!  I was still appreciative.

Here is the sketch I used. This is the fourth sketch of the month. If you are so inclined there are three more to play along with until the end of the month.

I was listening to this show while creating the layout.  I currently have a free subscription to Nugs.net, here is the LINK to the concert. The show is Warren Haynes and Danny Louis from 10.1.2020.  While reliving the memory I heard a song I have not heard before and pulled the title from the lyrics.

I will admit a little scrappy secret.  First you must know I purchased these thickers second hand from one my city's two creative reuse stores, Scrap It Up.  The sheets did not contain all the letters but was pretty full and very reasonable priced.  Now, this is a pretty long title and I ended up needing a couple of letter.  I dug way back into one of the oldest tricks I know and performed letter surgery!  Bonus points if you can determine which two letters I manipulated!

Ingredients:
Recollections Constellations 12x12 paper pad
Kiwi Lane Madison Avenue 1 A & B
Tim Holtz Ranger Distress 12x12 paper
Jolee's guitar sticker
Thickers sticker letters
misc card stock

Scrapbook.com Hello Sunshine for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Today I am playing with my new Scrapbook.com Fruit Slices A2 Decorative die and the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I had fun playing with the fruit dies and background die. I also threw in some inking behind the fruits on the background die.

Here's the sketch.

Close up of my sentiment. I chose to ink the popped up fruit with black to help it pop off the yellow citrus background.

Ingredients:
Tim Holtz Distress Squeezed Lemonade ink
misc card stock and paper

Stampin Up Whiskey Business Father's Day cards

Greetings.  I am posting some recent cards I created for the holiday. I have had this set for a while and this year I was determined to make Father's Day cards with it.  I got my motivation when I recently participated in Justine Hovey's Fearless Card Making challenge.  Although using premade pieces was not an actual part of the challenge I was inspired to do so by the challenge.  Essentially, Justine gave us "deep thoughts on card making".  One of the these questions to think about was what is holding you up?  And I have piles of ideas/half made cards that have stalled because of my indecisiveness.  I was motivated to grab some pieces, stamp and die cut more to create these cards.

The first card began with the idea of using the Whiskey Business set and the embossed and inked wood grain background.  It ripped on the edge and I just added it to my embossed background pile.  Every time I picked it up, I was like ugh...I can't use this.  However, this go round I was inspired to die cut the piece and get rid of the ripped area.  I experimented with Distress inking on this panel.  I wasn't that happy with it but I was encouraged by the challenge to push on through and make a card.

The inside of the card is where I stamped the Father's Day sentiment.

Here is a second card I made with same stamp set.  I colored the pieces the same but here I used a different sentiment.  I sent this one to my friend's father who turned 101 this month.  this one began with the premade card base.  I went with one layer die cut panel.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Whiskey Business stamps and dies
Copic Markers:  B00, Y32, YR18, E35
Spectrum Noir: Bright Orange
Prismacolor: Cool Grey 10% and 20%

Stampin Up Tree Rings with Hero Arts Mushrooms & Ferns for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  I created this beauty as soon as the embossing folder and dies arrived from Stampin Up.  However, they sent me the wrong stamp set, so I had to make do with another sentiment.  I also added dies from Hero Arts.

Here is the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch:

I die cut in primarily white/off white and used distress inks to color the die cuts.

The embossing here is very three dimensional so I went ahead and put a foam dot underneath to keep the dimension.  I also dotted the white dots of the red mushroom with a white gel pen to make them pop.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Tree Rings embossing folder and dies
Hero Arts Fancy Dies Mushrooms and Ferns
Tim Holtz Ranger Distress inks:  Fired Brick, Hickory Smoke, Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo
Brutus Monroe Enchanted Forest stamps
Stampin Up gems
White gel pen
misc papers
