Paper House Rock Star layout for Lasting Memories

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  I am guest designing for Lasting Memories Layout challenges.  The theme this week is “Time Spent at Play is Never Wasted.”
Lasting Memories challenge #659:  There is a lot of play time built in to the preschool day, in fact, it’s probably the favorite part of the day for most kiddos! This week’s challenge is to create a layout about how you PLAY! Share about a hobby or any activity you enjoy in your spare time.

Those of you who follow my blog will already know my favorite hobby (besides crafting) is seeing live music.  This is my absolute favorite festival in Jamaica. Not only do I enjoy live music, my modus operandi is to wait for hours sometimes on the front row for the music to start and hang on after the music is over and the crew is packing up to get the set list.  I have illustrated all of those points in the layout below.

The large photo is not my own but that of a professional photographer.  I die cut an arrow to point out myself and my husband front and center.

I primarily used The Paper House Rockstar stickers as embellishments.  I thought the row of lights was perfect as a top border.

In this photo you can see where I layered iridescent vellum over the guitar on the printed paper.  I felt like it added an extra level of shiny to the layout.  I am definitely in my shiny happy place here.

Ingredients:
The Paper House designer paper and stickers
Spellbinders You are Here Arrows
cardstock and iridescent vellum

Simple Stories Simple Vintage Garden District for Sketches in Thyme

Good Morning! I am here today with my page inspired by Sketches in Thyme #542 by the sketch designer Brenda Ragsdale. I know lots of folks are shopping today but I am hoping to craft all day!
My inspiration uses a Simple Stories kit I won earlier this year. It is Simple Vintage Garden District. I used papers and embellishments from the kit as well as adding a few sequins and bling from my stash. The photos are of my friends at a very nice dinner in Jamaica.

Here is the sketch.

We will be going back to the same restaurant next year.  It was delicious and the cliffside view is amazing.

Ingredients:
Simple Stories Scrapbook kit: Simple Vintage Garden District
Creative Memories circle cutter
Close to my Heart sequins
additional bling

I hope you join us and play along with the Sketches in Thyme!
The prize this month is a $10 Gift Certificate to A Cherry on Top AND the chance to be a GUEST DESIGNER for the month of January 2023!
We look forward to seeing YOUR take on the sketch. The deadline to submit your layout is November 30th, 2022 @ Noon EST.

Negril Beach layout for Sketches in Thyme

While I have tons of old photos to scrap, I decided to continue with the current year photos.  These are from our January trip to Jamaica.  This was our first trip to Negril.  We spent a lot of time chilling on the beach.

Here is the sketch for this week.  You can now find our challenge on Facebook.

Here's a close up of the cool photos and title.  I haven't used my Cricut in months but I turned it on to cut the circle loop.  It is actually not a perfect circle.  I tucked the wonky edge under the cluster so it's hard to see.

A close up of the transparent cluster.  I really like the feeling I get when I use up old product.  I have had these transparent embellishments for many years. Finally the perfect layout for some of them, I still have many more images.

Ingredients:
Tattered Angels: Seaside Collection Coastal Breeze Screen Prints transparent embellishments
Creative Memories sticker letters
Cricut Circle cut
black shimmer card stock
misc tan card stock
fishing net

Creative Memories Cheerful Power Palette with Sketches in Thyme sketch

Welcome to my month Sketches in Thyme inspiration.  This time around I am scrapping my January 2022 vacation to Jamaica.  This is us with our besties.  The story behind the photos is a fun one.  Would you like to know more about Lance in the Pants?

First, here is the sketch from Sketches in Thyme.

So another friend of ours, found these lovely crocheted pants.  She decided it would be a hoot to get Lance to wear the pants for charity.  He had no idea she had purchased the pants and brought them on vacation. He was floored when he discovered the plot his wife and friends had planned.  He had no choice but to go along.  We took donations and for enough money, one could have their photo with "Lance in the Pants".  I believe we raised over $1000 for Jamaican charities. All in all it was fun day except for poor Lance who had to wear the pants for hours.  He did rock them well!

Ingredients:

Creative Memories Cheerful Power Palette including paper, stickers and die cuts

Creative Memories Peacock Vacation layout

Just a few more days left to play along with the Sketch N Scraps 8th Birthday Bash Crop and I have made a couple of more scrapbook layouts.  For this page I swiped the pic on the left of FB from a friend also on the same trip.  The right is my attempt at capturing the crashing waves.  I really need a new camera.  I was going to get one prior to this vacation but I lost my job and didn't feel it was a wise time to purchase.  Actually, I am eyeing the iPhone 11 with 3 cameras.  I am usually not one to want the latest and greatest but oh! that camera!!!

Obviously, I am not into the latest and greatest, this paper is several years old, I was hoarding it because it was so pretty but I am using it up on this vacation album.

Here is the sketch:

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Peacock Power palette
Creative Memories Blueberry sticker letters
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink~Blue Moon

Jamaica Vacation layout with Sketch N Scrap sketch

For this vacation layout I used a scrapbook page kit I purchased long ago. I think the name of the company was Scrap-a-doo.  I can't find them online.  Anywho...I cut the die cut frame into 4 pieces.  I used the title portion and other segments on the layout.  The Paper House printed paper came with the die cut layer.  I added some die cut palm trees I cut on the Cricut.

The previous Sketch N Scrap sketch I used. After I made the decision to cut the die cut frame apart the layout came together easily.

Ingredients:
Paper house paper
Scrap-a-doo ? die cut layer
Cricut-Beach Life
Bazzill and Graphic 45 card stock
misc card stock
Creative Memories brown pen

Thanks for reading and I hope if you are a regular you aren't tired of my vacation photos yet.

DCWV and Bo Bunny with Sketch N Scrap sketch

This is the companion page to the previous post.  I picked up these papers on my first post stay at home shopping (for fun) trip. My local used art supply store was open for appointments only at this time.  I got off a bit early on Friday and made an appointment when I got off.  I scored a handful of this Bo Bunny green dot card stock.  The flip side is solid but with a little distress which will also come in handy.  This one is clover dot but I snagged a couple of other colors one being wasabi dot.

Here is the sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

I whipped these palm trees up on my Cricut.  I used a printed green paper for the leaves and kraft for the trunk.

Ingredients:
DCWV Tie Dye stack
Bo Bunny Clover Dot
Cricut-Nature Collections
Tutti Scalloped Stitched Nesting Circles and Stitched Nesting Banner
Spellbinders Circle die
Creative Memories sticker sentiment
misc card stock
