The Paper Loft In the Zone layout of Luther Dickinson @ Riverbend Music Festival

 

Luther Dickinson is one of my favorite musicians!  This is a concert at Riverbend Music Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2011.  In this configuration, Luther is playing with the North Mississippi Duo which is a variation of North Mississippi Allstars minus the bass player.  He also plays with the Black Crowes of late.

Creative Memories Freedom Card

I really like the Freedom stack pack from Creative Memories.  I was hesitant to purchase it, but it is really versatile.  Pretty Pink Posh's challenge requires you to create your project in 10 minutes and it must include stars.  I took 9 minutes and 56 seconds to create this card.  First of all, I started with TPC brushed cotton navy blue for the card base.  I used two different CM Freedom papers and some white cardstock for the scallop which I punched with a Stampin Up punch.  The stamp is from  SU Say it with Scallops.  I used a CM punch to punch the star border.  I don't know if it is obvious but this card is layered with acetate.  The stamp is Staz On Midnight Blue and is on the acetate.  The pearly white stars (Recollections from Michael's) are also on the top layer of acetate.  Edges chalked and finished with twine to keep the layers together.   You are allowed to gather your supplies first, here is the product I grabbed to start:

Whimsical Card with Graphic 45

Kraftie Kre8ations challenge is to create a whimsical card using an element that is not typically found on a card.  My element is the dangling copper chain hanging beneath the fancy brad.  I felt the scene on the Graphic 45 paper is light and whimsical but maybe not as "cute" as the challenge is requesting.  So I started with a ivory cardstock base then layered Bazzil swiss dot paper, a sparkle green/gold paper and then the Graphic 45 image.  I made several of these cards and this is one of the only one that I did not color the image.  I stamped my sentiment from Stampin Up with an embossing ink and SU olive embossing powder to make the sentiment pop.  I added bling and a paper flower.  The flower is layered with copper metallic accents.  I made an entire series of cards with different pieces of this Graphic 45 paper.  Be looking for more of these "fairy" creations from me.

Pretty Pink Posh 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #21

So I keep trying the Pretty Pink Posh's 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge.  This week's challenge requires stars.  I used some old star paper, white cardstock, red ribbon and twine from Michael's Recollections line, white cardstock and TPC brushed cotton navy blue for the card base.  I also punched an embossed star from a Creative Memories punch from the same card stock.  The SU sentiment is stamped with Colorbox Mix'd Media Ink Red schoolhouse.  This card took 7 minutes and 10 seconds.  I am also entering this card in Frosted Designs Ribbon, twine and washi tape challenge.  You must use two,  here I have used twine and ribbon.

Creative Memories Card using the new Freedom stack pack!

 

Finally, I received my latest Creative Memories order!  Included was the new Freedom stack pack.  I used the diecut and papers from the kit.  I put the diecut on pop dots and used the Spellbinders petite scallop circles to create a couple of cut AND embossed layers.  I used a tonic punch to punch the arrow from white cardstock.  The stars are from Michael's brand Recollections and the cardstock is TPC brushed cotton navy blue.  I tried to make this in 10 minutes for Pretty Pink Posh's 10 minute craft dash but this took a bit longer like over 20 minutes...but I was cranking the big shot and cutting all those strips and chalking them.

Graphic 45 & Tim Holtz Butterfly card

 

I am using some Graphic 45 Springtime paper, a Close to my Heart stamp, and a K and Co sticker butterfly.  I have also layered the butterfly on top of a glitter butterfly sticker from Recollections.  The glitter matched perfectly!  I created the flowers with Tim Holtz sizzix diecut tattered flowers and metallic cardstock from The Paper Company.  I also through in some satin ribbon and glitter brads.

Card Creations by my little friends...

I recently took a family vacation to the North Carolina coast. When I say family, I mean family...including my four nieces.  I took along a tote of crafting stuff to keep us occupied should we have a rainy day.  You know there was a couple of those!  Luckily, the rain never lasted all day but over the course of the week, we were able to play several hours.  Here are the best of the projects my nieces created:

 

Hana really did some experimenting with technique here.  She inked a Tim Holtz diecut which was on textured paper.  That really turned out neat!  She also used a Stampin Up embossing folder on some pink shimmer paper.  On the inside she created a scene with an Avocado Arts set of stamps, too cute!

Briana came up with this idea.  I brought a Colorbox rainbow pad that I have because I thought the girls would enjoy it.  Briana put her little finger right in the middle where the colors come together.  Just adorable!  I told her to use it as her signature on all her cards.  Morgan borrowed the idea here.

The butterfly card below is by Briana.  She stamped and painted the butterflies with Sparkling H2O's.  I used the Creative Memories postage punch to punch them out.  Then she assembled the card and added the glitter glue.  She is seven.

I had so much fun playing with my nieces!  I sure wished they lived closer and we could visit more often.

 

Creative Memories Seasonal Summer layout for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Blog Hop!

 

On this layout I used the Creative Memories idea sheet that came with the paper pack.  It was a recent CM gift.   I added the twine.  All paper and stickers are current Creative Memories product but get it while you can!

The Paper Loft In the Zone double page layout and Polka dot challenge

 

I just love these pictures of my son at Sawyer Point.  This was a rare sunny February day.  I just felt the geometric shapes in the photographs lent themselves to this collection by The Paper Loft.   I toned down the second page of polka-dots by adding strips of corresponding paper that feel like page one.  I also recreated the center target to carry to both pages.  It is hard to see behind the pictures.  The cute quotes and signs come on The Paper Loft's accessory card.

 

I also created some additional dots to accent the page and tie them together.
