Hello and welcome to my next layout.  I was on a roll this weekend after the Creative Memories Virtual Blog Hop.  I found a sketch to highlight my next photos in my wedding album.  I have also been using Dear Zae monthly challenge round up as a resource for scrapbook challenges.

Although the challenge has expired I loved the sketch I used:

Lasting Memories November Guest Designer: Creative Memories Reminisce Family layout

Hello, today I am guest designing at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge blog .  I am still working on my wedding album.  With this layout I honed in on my mother's dress and used rich warm colors, it was an October wedding after all...

I found this Maya Road chipboard over the summer at Tuesday Morning, I believe.

I used Spellbinders ribbon/buckle charms to cut these shapes out of chipboard.  I then inked them up and heat embossed them for a shine and sturdiness.

Here's my wood veneer, I also inked it up a bit.

Good morning!  Today I am guest designing at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and the challenge is R is for Remember.  I have chosen to create some Veteran's Day cards with my Cricut.

Here's the front of the card.  I used the negative cuts and the original cut a s a template because it was just too pretty to waste in the luxurious gold paper.

Here's my second card.  I decided not to cut the traditional version of this but the pocket card.  It is really neat and already in the hands of a Vet.

For my project I turned on my trusty Cricut.  I haven't often used the writing feature but since this turned out so nicely, I think I will be using it more in the future.  If you are not in the "know" any American Craft pen will fit in the Cricut Explore perfectly for the writing feature.

Karen Burniston Happy Home Pop Up card

Hello and welcome to my Happy Home!  Alicia here, I had such a blast creating this little scene.  I love working with all of the Karen Burniston dies, they compliment each other so well.  Here I have used the latest House & Fence Pop Up with the tree and leaves from Tree Pop Up.  I also used the Happy from Word Set 3 Holiday. I used Frantic Stamper Stitched Waves as the clouds across the top.

I followed my own advice and created the mechanisms of this card in basic white card stock first.  I find it so helpful to learn the folds and make any mistakes on plain card stock before I use my good stuff.  I did begin with white card stock.  I inked one side with blue ink to create the sky background.  I layered my clouds across the top.  I used green card stock for my floating platform to make a nice green yard.  I cut and embossed the house highlighting the embossing with some chalking inks to make the stone and siding pop.

Here's a closer view of the house.  So many little details really make for an exquisite card.  I am sending this out to my sister who recently moved.  I tried to use the colors of the home she purchased.  I was just winging the sold sign.  I used some of the left over flocked leaves from my last project to sprinkle in the tree and a few on the ground.  I used a little more of the flocking on the wreath on the door.  I also used a chipboard die cut behind the tree since the wood grain paper I used was paper, not card stock, my tree needed some extra sturdiness.  Finally I inked just a little yellow in the windows to simulate glowing lights.

Super Hero Birthday Card

Hello there!  A second post in one day!  I had a chance to use my Cricut this week and play along with Bittenbythebug2 challenge.

Here's a close up of the pop up, it worked so well!  Sometimes I forget I have the scoring tool which is essential to these intricate cards.  I also had to re cut the super hero cape.  I used a decent size card stock but it didn't cut nicely so I substituted a small scrap of photo paper for a nice shiny and clean cut cape.

Quick Quotes Mini Reserve in Atlanta

Good morning Quick Quotes readers, Alicia here today with a recap of my experience at the Quick Quotes Mini Reserve in the Atlanta area.  I usually attend the event in Toledo which is closest to my home.  However, this year I went to the Atlanta event.  I am from Georgia and this location allowed me to have a weekend getaway with my sister.  It was even more fun that usual with her and now she is hooked! She plans on going to the one day event at the same location in the spring.

Check out all the Quick Quotes kits from the weekend's classes.  Quick Quotes Page kits are awesome but I always look forward to the altered kits.  I have taken a picture of each one of these unique and beautiful kits and one of the full size album and layout kits.  I was thrilled to use the die cut from the album insert project to create a template (Patsy's suggestion) for a paper cover for the three hole side of pocket pages!  I plan on using this again and again.

As mentioned above I was lucky enough to take my classes from Patsy Gaut, the creative mind behind Quick Quotes.  I had taken classes from her years ago before I joined the design team.  She is amazingly funny and informative.

My sister has been a crafter for quite a while but as we all know family prevent moms from pursuing their own interest, sometimes for years.  That being said my sister had not been to an event in a very long time but she got right back into the groove. Check out our different versions of the page kit.  She has all girls so she decided to ink up her chipboard lighter.  I love how versatile Quick Quotes Page kits can be once assembled.

Here are some photos of my sister and another alternative version of a page kit.  Also photos of us, our table mates and the volunteers.  These classes can't run with out these ladies, if ever you want assist with an event, Quick Quotes makes it worthwhile.

Mai Tai Tropical layout

Hello dear readers, today I am showing off another layout for  The Awesome Ladies Project.  This one is about food inspiring your layout.  I just took this photo last month...looks so tropical doesn't it, it's amazing what 3 weeks will do to the weather.  It seems like it is nothing but cold and rainy now.  So the perfect day to revisit this lovely drink and dinner outside on a warm October evening.

 

I pulled out some really old papers from The Storytellers Club.  I found some glittery "orange" bling (aren't they cute?) and regular orange bling.

The die cuts and journal card are from The Storytellers Club collection.  I was a member for a couple of years, so I have quite a stash.  I had this collection organized in my food section, so it a breeze to find.  I am using some seriously old letters, too.

Lasting Memories November Guest Designer

Hello, today I am guest designing at Lasting Memories Layout Challenge blog .  I am still working on my wedding album.  I was very pleased with how this layout turned out.  The vellum was a delicate addition for a bridal layout and white sequins were a perfect touch.
