Cricut Celtic Heart Mandala with Kindred Stamps Wild and Free

Good morning and welcome to the latest Bitten By the Bug 2 - Fairy Tale challenge. I had so much fun with the Bunny mandala I decided to make another cut from the Multi layer Holiday Mandala image set.

Here is a photo of all my layers before adhering with my fine tipped glue pen.

I loved this sentiment.  I can't wait to make more cards with this stamp set.

Plenty of dimension on this card.

Ingredients:
Cricut Multi layer Holiday Mandala image set
Kindred Stamps Wild and Free stamp set
alcohol markers
misc papers including Bazzill. K & Co patterned and metallic
Momento Tuxedo Black ink

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  Alicia here today for Quick Quotes!  I have used the new Joy Ride collection to create a few side step cards to celebrate the holiday!  My first dilemma was 3 leaves or four?  I made a version of both, however, it did prompt me to do a little research on the subject.  I found that the shamrock is the three leaf version and is the official symbol of Ireland.  The shamrock refers to one distinct variety of clover.  The four leaf clover can be found in all varieties of clover and is very rare compared to the shamrock and therefore, is a symbol of good luck.

Basic Instructions for the side step cut:
  • cut paper to 8.5"x 5.5"
  • make a cut 3" from the long edge that starts at 1" and goes to 6.5"
  • on the 3" side score at 1"(where the cut begins), 2", 3.25", 4.5" and 6.5"
  • on the 2,5" side score at 4.25"
  • fold the 3" side accordion style and use a bone folder to sharpen creases

I made this version with four leaf clovers cut with my Cricut.  I cut Joy Ride 400  and then colored it with both Seafoam PowderPuff Chalking Ink and Evergreen PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  The small details really add to the card for instance the floss in the buttons.

The shamrocks are made with heart punches.  I punched 6 hearts and folded three.  I fully adhered the bottom layer of three and only put adhesive on half of the folded hearts to create a three dimensional shamrock.

How’s that for blog candy?? Without further ado.. here’s my project:

I am using a new center step fold.  This was my first attempt, I used my new Stampin' Up Gumball Green paper and inks.  I used SU Celtic Knots stamp set for the long knots from years ago and Amazing Arts Green Man, sentiment and Celtic knot.  I punch the sentiment with a SU label punch, the small circles with CM punches and used a Spellbinders circle (cut and emboss) for the Green Man.  I added some flowers from the $1 bin from Michael's and some pearl bling from want2scrap.  And pop dots!  I used a you tube video but altered the measurements for an A2 size.  Cut your 8.5" x 11" in half on the long side, make a cut 1" in from both sides.  Make the cut from 1"-6.5" on both sides of the card.  Then score on the outside 1" strip at 1", 2" and 5.5".  Score the middle of the card at 4.5".  Fold up, then down, then up.  It is pretty easy.

Now do an Irish jig to the next blog: Sarah!

Here’s the line-up should you get distracted by other Leprechaun trying to trick you! Thanks for joining us today and be sure to wear green March 17th so you don’t get pinched!!
