Jenni Bolin Mini Deck Vintage Fortune Telling with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Today I present my inspiration for the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch
challenge.  I was cleaning up and organizing my stash when I played with this sketch.  I had reached the bottom of a very old stack of papers and I found this printed paper and the Jenni Bolin cards already paired.  I found a pre-cut green card stock A2 card base and die cut the printed paper.  I added a black nesting die cut for the next layer.  I was impressed how the two pieces quickly became a card.

Here is the sketch:

I dug in my blue embellishment box and found a cabochon and Prima fiber to match the hearts on the card.

I layered  the simple cabochon, button and bingo token for the accent replacing the bow in the sketch.

Ingredients:
Jenni Bolin Mini Deck Vintage Fortune Telling
Frantic Stamper rounded corner stitched rectangle dies
Prima fiber
Green and black card stock
patterned card stock from my stash
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink
bling, button and bingo token

Chief Feathers Listen to the Wind...embossing challenge post #2

Welcome to my second embossing folder post.  This card was my son's idea.  When he saw the arrows embossed on the kraft, he said you need a tee pee stamp.  Well, I didn't have a tee pee but I did have a few Native American choices and this stamp came from the way back...paired with a brand newer sentiment I won from Our Daily Bread Designs recently.  I saved my gift certificate until after I visited their booth at Mega meet.  This stamp set Wander and Dream was on sale on their website.

I thought that awesome sentiment was perfect for this card.  I found the Jenni Bolin chipboard feathers that have been in my stash a while pretty sure they came from Mega Meet years ago, I stamped a couple with versamark and embossed them with clear bark (same as the sentiment) and inked the other with close to cocoa (same as Chief Feathers).  My son is in love, he couldn't wait for me to take the picture so he can have this card.

Ingredients:
Artist Outpost Wander and Dream
Acey Duecy Chief Feathers
Stampin Up Close to Cocoa
Quick Quotes Milk Chocolate
Recollections clear bark embossing powder
versamark ink
Jenni Bolin chip board feathers

Quick Quotes Sympathy for Paris card

Please click HERE for the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop

Hello Quick Quotes readers,  Alicia here today with a card I made using 3 different Quick Quotes collections:  49 Shades of GreyWhistlin Dixie, and Anchors Aweigh.  All of the new collections are so complimentary.  I created this card after the Paris attacks and wanted to express my mourning for the pain and loss.  I cut the Eiffel Tower in the darkest shade of 49 Shades of Grey. I layered it slightly off center from the embossed Eiffel Tower.

I used the Prima button to choose the other colors for the card.  The embossing folder had a harlequin design on the side which I tore off and layered Anchors Aweigh 100 paper stamped with Midnight-Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink and a harlequin stamp.  I added a die cut layer behind the button to make it pop and lots of black flowers and bling.  I heavily distressed the embossed layer with Midnight-Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink making sure to hit the word Paris to make it stand out.

Creating a card didn't help France but it did help me digest and reflect on the tragedies and express my sympathy to the people of France.  My heart and thoughts are with them during this scary time.

Lasting Memories Sketch Challenge with Creative Memories Earthy Outdoors Addition

This is my very last full sheet from my Creative Memories Earthy Outdoor Additions kit.  I have just a couple of photo mats and stickers left.  I thought this last sheet fit perfectly with the sketch challenge at Lasting Memories this month.  Since I didn't have much paper left, I cut a photo mat in half for the blue bottom layer.

Here is the sketch.  There is also a twist to the challenge: use something with feathers!

The sketch came together so easy, I thought I have to do something else though to make this layout pop.  That's when I remembered a blog post I read just Friday over at Unruly Paper Arts about enameling chipboard.  Please forgive, it was my first try at this technique. I used a mixed color ink pad to get different colors on the feathers then I used several layers of glassy glaze from Stampin Up.  My primary problem was that the feathers were so small they kept blowing over from the heat gun.  I think I will do better next time I try and I can't wait!

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Earthy Outdoor Addition kit
CM Sticker letters and leaf sticker
TCP Studio The Great Outdoors stickers
Jenni Bolin Chipboard feathers
Color Box Cocoa and At the Beach inks
Stampin Up Glassy Glaze
Quick Quotes Java chalk
