Lawn Fawn Big Scripty Falala card for Atlantic Hearts Challenge

Welcome to my blog today.  I have continued to create Xmas cards since "Christmas in July" season, it's always good to build stock.  I thought this latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Challenge really lent itself to scraps of Christmas patterned papers.

Here is this week's sketch.

I stamped and die cut the sentiment. The poinsettia embellishment was premade.

Ingredients:
Lawn Fawn Big Scripty Words stamps and dies
Carta Bella Have a Merry Christmas 6x6 papers
Stampin Up Sizzix Banners Framelits
Stampin Up Gumball Green

Let Your Soulshine layout for Lasting Memories

Welcome to my second installment as guest designer for Lasting Memories.  I am continuing to work on my trip to Connecticut. This was on the train trip.  It was actually nice traveling with everything half full, there was always plenty of room to hang with our friends.  This week's challenge at Lasting Memories is to use "Olympic Rings" or at least five circles or rings on your layout.  I found this series of photos lent itself well to the circle frames.

I found the sun dies already in my stash from a previous project.  I am not sure they were intended to go together and the top sun was white.  I inked it up with some distress ink and popped it on dots on top of the other sun.  A perfect circle embellishment for a circle layout.

I finished off the layout with a large title taken from a song by our favorite band.  We were in Connecticut to see some of them.

Ingredients:
DCWV Stardust Stack
Misc papers and card stock
Brutus Monroe Decorative Details
Robin's Nest Tear Drops
Creative Memories Circle cutting system
Creative Memories sticker letters
Lawn Fawn Out of this world Sun die
another sun die
Tim Holtz Fossilized Amber Distress ink
Colorbox Sepia Black cat's eye ink

Don't forget to play along with Lasting Memories until the end of the month.

Karen Burniston Ms. Claus and Penguin Season's Greetings card

Hello, this is my final card for the Inspiration Team today.  I jumped ahead a season to create this Karen Burniston winter card.  I have always had so much fun playing with her animals and characters.  The first time I use one of her dies, I will go to Karen Burniston YouTube channel and watch her assembly video.  This is my first time using the Winter Animals set so I watched that video.

I very much enjoy her tips such as using the die as a stencil.  I used it here to detail the hat on the penguin with a white gel pen.  I used the same plaid paper for Ms. Claus's suit and the penguin's hat and scarf.

I layered some trees cut from a green patterned paper on white glitter stitched hillside border.  I used the same white glitter paper for Ms. Claus's trim and the penguin's pom on his hat. I colored Ms. Claus's cheeks and cut her glasses from silver metallic paper.  I layered all the pieces on patterned paper.  I layered the the snowy hill cut on the patterned paper then die cut the stitched rectangle for a uniform look.

Karen Burniston Triple Flip and Happy Hours Charms for Dies R Us

Hi there, I tried my hand with the Karen Burniston Triple Flip card using more Karen Burniston die sets to compliment the card.  I used some bold pattern paper to create a "happy" hour kinetic card.  I followed Karen Burniston's Triple Flip assembly video even though I have previously used this die set. I find a refresher of the details are helpful.  The front panel needs to be 5.5" so I used an A2 size card base.

I enjoyed creating the tiny drinks.  I used acetate for the glasses and white card stock inked as the contents.  The little olives are adorable and so easy to make.  Just cut and then use the stencil feature to color in the black with a pen.

And now for the flip...I used cut the word into three equal parts freehand and spread them across the three panels.  I cut simple ovals from the Karen Burniston Memory Charms to really make the sentiment pop off the page.

A closer look of the sentiment.

Here are some of the dies and cuts I made prior to inking.

Karen Burniston and Lawn Fawn Out of this World Slider Card

Hello, today I am here with a slider card.  I began with a Distress Oxide ink background. I used several colors then went over the entire surface with Black Soot leaving some color visible.  I sprayed shimmer spray and used a Wink of Stella pen to create stars.

Next I die cut the center with the Lawn Fawn Slide On Over Wave die  In the meantime, I had already die cut the space ship and alien from the Karen Burniston Space Charms I cut the alien into pieces to fit into the space ship.  I added a layer of acetate on top of the alien there is a special die for this in the set.  I cut the other piece from silver metallic card stock. I added gems in the light holes. I used a pen to color the eyes and lips of the alien and tires of the ship using the embossing area of the die. I used the basic penny method to add the spaceship to the wavy slider cut.

I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Beam Me Up Stamps and die cut it with the banner die from Karen Burniston Triple Flip dies.
