Karen Burniston Triple Flip and Happy Hours Charms for Dies R Us

Hi there, I tried my hand with the Karen Burniston Triple Flip card using more Karen Burniston die sets to compliment the card.  I used some bold pattern paper to create a "happy" hour kinetic card.  I followed Karen Burniston's Triple Flip assembly video even though I have previously used this die set. I find a refresher of the details are helpful.  The front panel needs to be 5.5" so I used an A2 size card base.

I enjoyed creating the tiny drinks.  I used acetate for the glasses and white card stock inked as the contents.  The little olives are adorable and so easy to make.  Just cut and then use the stencil feature to color in the black with a pen.

And now for the flip...I used cut the word into three equal parts freehand and spread them across the three panels.  I cut simple ovals from the Karen Burniston Memory Charms to really make the sentiment pop off the page.

A closer look of the sentiment.

Here are some of the dies and cuts I made prior to inking.

Thinking of you for Mother's Day

Hello dear readers, I waited until the day after to reveal the Mother's Day card I sent to my mom.  I thought the butterflies were perfect for this holiday.  However, this could be a great pick me up card for any occasion.  Any PIvot Card Die set can help you create a wow factor card easily. This die cut mechanism is just about the simplest to make, just line it up on your crease with one pass through your machine.  All this is left is to decorate.

I used the complimentary Elizabeth Craft Designs Butterfly Accessory dies to help accessorize the card. I used a flourish stamp to lightly add some interest to the shimmer cover stock I used for the base.  The thicker the base the better the pivot mechanism will endure.

I added bling to the antenna and the centers of the flowers.  I used more shimmer paper and pretty prints for additional decorative cuts.  I finished off the card with a die cut sentiment.

Products from the Dies R Us Store:

other ingredients:
My Mind's Eye Enlightened flourish stamp (yep the same stamp using bits and pieces)
Quick Quotes powderpuff chalking ink
shimmer papers
Creative Memories printed paper
glitter and misc card stock
gems

Karen Burniston Triple Flip and Amy Design Friendly Frogs for Dies R Us

Hello dear readers, I was so excited to get a new die set with movement that I began working with it immediately.  I recently received the Karen Burniston Triple Flip die set.  I have all sorts of ideas swimming in my head but I started with my other new dies from the Amy Design Friendly Frogs collection.  There were so many frogs from which to choose, it was easy to fill all the panels on the triple flip.

I found it super easy to assemble with the help of  Karen Burniston's Triple Flip Assembly video.  One of the tips I took from the video was to use foam tape to back the flip panel.  This allowed for plenty of room for the flip to happen behind the scene.  I also cut and inlaid the arrow from a scrap piece of the patterned paper. Another option is to add washy tape between the layers instead of leaving an empty arrow.

I used the same scalloped frame in each panel but the set has a few different combinations from which to create.  The smaller frogs are from the Amy Design Friendly Frogs - Frog Frame die set.

I used the Karen Burniston Party Border Blends to add interest across the top.  I also sprinkled some jewels in the border.

I stamped a one of kind sentiment with an alpha stamp set.  This card is already in the mail to my nephew whom we plan to visit later this month.  Adults are impressed with kinetic cards but I have a feeling my nephew will play with this card.  Good thing it is designed with reinforcements in all the mechanical areas.  I think it will last through hundreds of flips.

I stamped the water across the bottom using the Amy Design Friendly Frogs-Clear Stamps.

Bling on the Turkey! Karen Burniston Pop n Swap for Dies R Us

Happy Thanksgiving, Alicia here today.  I don't know about you but this holiday just won't be the same without the large gatherings for food and fellowship.  I hope sending this card will brighten someone's holiday. At first glance it's a nice enough card with a neat cut away but wait for it...

Wow!  the Karen Burniston Pop n Swap die set really packs a punch.  The top turkey is just fine but as he disappears the bottom turkey appears all blinged out with glitter and other specialty papers.

The mechanism works super smooth, however there are a couple of tricks and tips to keep in mind.  The top pop up has a limited field of movement, be sure and test before adhering permanently.  I had to trim the bottom of the top frame.  Always check any movement for catch points before finalizing placement.

I basically followed Karen Burniston's instructional video for this mechanism.  I even rounded the corners of my card.  I found that the best method for my first time working with this die set.  I can't wait to dream up more fun uses for this one!

I used the following products in my card:
Quick Quotes Autumn Blessings designer papers and Powderpuff chalking ink
Inside sentiment-misc fonts cut with a Cricut
misc papers
sequins

and from the store...
