On Wednesday's we wear black... Hero Arts Paper Doll

The wait is finally over and on Wednesday's we wear black!!!  I own ALL the Hero Arts Lifestyle dies series, they are basically paper doll pieces that came in several themed sets.  If you are a follower of my blog, you will know how much I love paper piecing. So this die set is one of my absolute favorites.  I have only used it once. I made paper dolls of my besties that was over two years ago!  I never even posted them. My Wednesday was of course created  in anticipation of today. It's taken way to long to get a second season of this show.

I used hair from two different sets to create her look. I colored the face stamp with ink pens to get lip and eye color different.

The boots are from the Victorian Lady die set.  Most of Wednesday's dress is from the Trick or Treat set but the boots in that set were a bit too "witchy".  I cut the collar in two and manipulated the pieces a bit to create the cuffs. I cut the legs in black to create the tights.

Ingredients:
Hero Arts Fancy dies Lifestyle Forms
Hero Arts Fancy dies Lifestyle Trick or Treat
Hero Arts Fancy dies Lifestyle Victorian Lady
Hero Arts Hero Lifestyle Faces stamps
Kindred Stamps Gothic Vibes 6x6 paper pad

Tim Holtz dogs "Warm & Cuddly" cards as January Double Trouble Crazy Cousin

Welcome to my blog today.  I am guest designing for Double Trouble Challenge blog.  The position is called Crazy Cousin and I am excited about the new format at Double Trouble Challenge beginning this month.  As usual there are three parts to the challenge but the details of each have changed. See below for all the details. I was so excited I may have gone overboard.

Here is my awesome Crazy Cousin avatar including my little dog Sparky.

Here are the details of this month's challenge.  The first part is a 3-2-1 recipe. This week is 3 colors, 2 layers and 1 cuddly image.

This year the Double Dare will be playing along with Try a Sketch On Tuesday every challenge.

I really got carried away and created three cards.  The Tim Holtz set I own comes with three dogs so I had to color all of them!  Out of the three versions this was my husbands favorite.

This is the first little guy I inked up, I wanted him to match the yellows in my paper pack.

I gave this puppy some spots.  I chose the blue background it looks like it makes him happy.

Ingredients:
Tim Holtz Sizzix Dog Talk stamp and die set
Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Nesting Square dies
American Crafts 6x6 basics paper pad
alcohol markers

If you follow all three parts of Double Trouble Challenge play along there and you are most likely eligible to enter in these challenges:  Try a Sketch On Tuesday and Crazy Critters Challenge.

Fly Over the Rainbow! Kindred Stamps

Welcome!  I could not let this month go by without a rainbow card.  However, this one is a bit on the dark side.  I used some darker paper scraps to create this unique rainbow.  I also added used some Kindred Stamps on the inside.

A peek of the inside.

I thought a darker image was appropriate for the inside.  I created the sentiment by using pieces of the sentiments in the set.

Ingredients:
Sizzix Fold-a-long Rainbow card die
Kindred Stamps Journey Home stamps
Various alcohol markers
Versamark black ink

Magical Crystal Ball card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Welcome to this week's magical inspiration for Atlantic Hearts Challenge.  I recently obtained this Sizzix die set and could not wait to play with it.  The first card is always kind of a protype.  I definitely learned some tips to construct my next crystal ball.  I could not find any details on what all the pieces cut.  I will do better next time.

Here is this week's sketch.  It should be an easy one with which to play along.

I had fun selecting the fanciest complimentary papers I could find in my stash.

I had to select a few views since the iridescent papers catch the light different in every photo.

Ingredients:
Craft Smart Stay Magical 12x12 paper
Momenta Alcohol ink paper 12x2
Sizzix Crystal Ball die set
Kindred Stamps Magical word die set
acetate
misc papers and iridescent card stock

Sizzix Fold a long Rainbow card for Spring

Spring is right around the corner so I created a subtle bright rainbow to help usher in the new season.  I love rainbows and I love the wow of special folds.  This made all the more exciting by being a shaped card and all the more easy with the Sizzix die set.

I stamped this sentiment inside the card, but I can't for the life of me figure out the set from which it came.

Sizzix Card Fold-a-long Jen Long Rainbow

Hero Arts You're a Fungi with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Welcome to my blog today and my latest Atlantic Hearts challenge inspiration card.  I recently purchased this paper pad and embellishment pack.  I can't remember where, Target?  Ollies?  I am trying to think where I was shopping before Xmas.  I loved it, I even got my friends some of this adorable paper.  I adore mushrooms and found this sentiment to be the perfect size to die cut.

Here is this week's sketch.

I stamped the sentiment in Tip Top Taupe and cut it out with a die.  I popped it up to allow for the twine underneath.  Finally I adhered the chipboard sticker to the top of the sentiment.

Ingredients:
Violet Studios 6x6 paper and chipboard stickers
Hero Arts You're a Fungi stamp set
Stampin Up Tip Top Taupe
Stampin Up Sizzix Apothecary Accents die
misc cardstock
Colorbox Chestnut Roan cat's eye ink
twine

The War & Treaty Michael layout for Sketches in Thyme

Hello and welcome to this month's scrapbook sketch inspiration for Sketches in Thyme.  I have more photos from my Jamaican vacation.  These are photos of Michael from The War and Treaty.  I began with black card stock, added lots of manual die cuts and a little ink splatter.

Here is this week's sketch by Bev Code.

I spattered Tattered Angels Money Bags shimmer spray around before I mounted any of the photos or die cuts.

I fussy cut the shadow for the microphone die cut.

I used the Sizzix David Tutera Eucalyptus & Flourish Stamp and Die set to create my foliage clusters.  I cut from several fancy papers including vellum.

I inked all the edges prior to adhering to my base.

I cut the Amy Design Music Border die from metallic silver card stock.

Ingredients:
Amy Design Music Border die
Sizzix David Tutera Eucalyptus & Flourish Stamp and Die set
Stampin Up Shaded Spruce ink
Tattered Angels Money Bags shimmer spray
misc card stock including Bazzill Blue Topaz Gemstone and Recollections Blue Swirl
Stampin Up vellum die cuts

Play along with Sketches in Thyme over on our Facebook Group until the end of the month.

Tim Holtz Simple Plaid and Kindred Stamps Make Limoncello for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  I was in a bright and cheery mood when I created this card.  I have a friend who makes limoncello regularly.  This would be perfect for her. I had yet to use my Tim Holtz Plaid die and I thought it would be a great twist on the sketch.  I cut this out of white paper which set the way for a small print pattern paper.  I found this lovely lemon paper in my stash.  I have no idea what brand it is.  I searched my stash (on Evernote) and found the lemon's in this Close to my Heart set.

Here is the sketch:

Here's a close up of the details. I stamped the lemons with Stampin Up pens to keep the yellow and green separate.  I used the green to stamp the Kindred Stamps sentiment.  I then die cut it with a stitched sentiment strip.

Ingredients:
Sizzix Tim Holtz Simple Plaid die
Close to My Heart One in a Melon
Stampin Up Daffodil Delight and Call me Clover ink
Kindred Stamps Sea Monster's sentiment
Kat Scrappiness Stitched Sentiment Strips
papers from stash

Sizzix Fold-a-long Elephant with Prima Pretty Mosaic Papers card

Welcome, I have created a very sweet shaped card today using my Sizzix Fold-a-long Elephant die.  It had been sitting in my stash for a while and I had reason to create a baby card.  I thought this die set would make a sweet card.  This is actually the second card.  This one is for my stash. The original card was in blues for a baby boy.  It was given immediately but I did snap a photo or two.  I will share it at some point.

I scored the paper stack second hand on Facebook Marketplace. I was shopping someone's stash and just fell in love with the lavender prints.  The velvet pink ears are also a second hand purchase.

The dark card stock is much lighter in person.  Here it appears black but it is really grey.  In fact, the eyelashes and tail are the same paper just the lighter side.

Ingredients:
Sizzix Fold-a-long Elephant die set
Prima Pretty Mosaic paper
misc card stock and velvet paper
