Speaking of School Cards-Bitten by the Bug 2's School challenge

Welcome to the latest Bitten By the Bug 2's challenge~Speaking of School.  The challenge is to use your Cricut machine to create something school related.  School is definitely a new experience this year whether you or your student is going back in person, virtually or a hybrid version.  New routine's are being introduced but hopefully, the kids still meet new friends, learn and play.  Let' create something to assist. Your project could be something for your student, your student's teacher, or something to help you educate at home.  The possibilities are endless.

I made a series of cards using Cricut Speaking of School to spell my nephew's name.  I plan to send him one at a time.  I enhanced the ruler cuts with an ink pen on the ruler and protractor D.

The "R" is just adorable!  I also enhanced the little boy with a black ink pen.

The pencils of the "E" are the most detailed of all these cards.  They were still super easy to assemble.  I used some metallic card stock on the pencil top that I have had for years.  It was a 25 count pack of a metallic silver. It's not super shiny, it's kind of brushed and has been the best product ever! I am sad that I am down to my last couple of sheets.

The crayons of the "W" was a little simple.  I altered the wrapper of the crayons to be a shade darker and hand wrote "crayon" on them for added detail.  Since these cards weren't quite square I made all the matching envelopes.

Ingredients:
Cricut Speaking of School images
misc card stock from my stash-years old
Zig black pen

Graphic 45 Sunflowers~A Little Something to Brighten your day

I was in need of a special card for a special friend who likes sunflowers.  I found scraps of this Graphic 45 paper on my desk, checked Paper Playful for some challenges and just like that a card is born!  And it is already in the mail with special postage, of course, for the bumpy brad.

I am on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge design team, however, this is not my week to post, I just happened to see this sketch and fell in love with the versatility..

I also finally tried a long time pinned idea on Pinterest to create a shadow layer for this Stampin Up punch.  I have tons of great punch ideas pinned HERE,

I have had this set of brads for a long time.  The are beautiful, I am not sure if I have been hoarding them or they really just don't work with anything...but this one definitely works here.  I didn't want to bring too much brown into the mix since the paper has black.  To accentuate this I also stamped and embossed the sentiment in black.

Ingredients:
Graphic 45 Happy Haunting Enchanted Garden paper
Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin June 2020 sentiment
Colorbox Black pigment ink
Judikins Black Detail embossing powder
Stampin Up Decorative label punch
Brushed yellow gemstone brad
goldenrod cover and card stock
Quick Quotes Midnight Confession chalking ink
fabric flowers
twine

Cricut Watermelon challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2

Welcome to the latest Bitten by the Bug 2 Use a Watermelon challenge.  I used the Anna Griffin Pop Up Card image set.  I loved all the sweet fruitiness of this card.  I found a great sentiment to match from Close to My Heart.

I stamped and embossed my sentiment in the front corner of the inside of the card.

I used several different papers to create the different layers of the fruit.  I inked all the edges for more dimension.

Ingredients:
Anna's Pop Up Cards Fruit Cricut Access

Sorry you're feeling ruff...Frantic Stamper Oscar card

I have a friend who is under the weather so I made this precious doggie card for him.  I love this die from Frantic Stamper.  It pairs great with the sentiment stamp that I just purchased.  I was inspired by the cute dog inspiration from The Card Concept, although I think the sentiment and recipient deemed a more masculine color palette.

I found the plaid paper in my stash and it wasn't labled.  I used a couple of brown papers to stamp the sentiment and emboss the paw prints.

Ingredients:
Frantic Stamper Oscar die
Creative Stamping Furry Friends sentiment
Darice 12" border pawprint embossing folder
Quick Quotes Milk Chocolate Powderpuff chalking ink
Stampin Up Glossy Glaze (eyes and nose)
misc papers and card stock

Just because...here's a pic of my beautiful boy.

Sailing on Salem Sound-Summer Fun challenge for Bitten By the Bug 2

Welcome to the Bitten By the Bug 2's Summer Fun challenge.  I scrapped a pic from a summer trip to Massachusetts a couple of years ago.  We took a ride on a frigate and learned about the maritime history of the region.

I played around with several anchors and settled on these two. One from Close to My Heart Flower Market and the skinny one is from Stand and Salute.

The waves were super fun to play around with and easy to create a 12" border without pulling out the 24" mat.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes Adventure Awaits papers and Powderpuff Chalking inks
Cricut cuts-
Anchor-Close to My Heart Flower Market
Anchor (skinny)-Stand and Salute
Waves-Life at the Beach
Blackletter Original font
