Karen Burniston Snowman/Soccer Pop Up card

Good morning, Alicia here today, getting geared up for school and fall sports.  My son has played soccer since he was 3 so this card will be for him.  Last month I purchased the some of the latest Karen Burniston die sets.  I am so pleased with these sets.  Of course with any new die, I cut all the pieces first on plain white card stock.  This tip is especially helpful with a pop up die to familiarize oneself with the mechanism.  It is really so awesome to have such a handy pop up in a die. I can't wait to create more fun cards with this set.

So this die set contains all the elements for a snowman, but it is basically just circles with a few snowman accessories.  As soon as I saw it in person, I knew a soccer ball would work great in the pop up.  Isn't so fun?

The set comes with plenty of circles for layering.  I used a soccer ball shaker sticker in the center layer on a circle embossed like soccer netting and finally layered a stitched die of "grass" and one more black layer for pop!

The  Die Versions Soccer border die is no longer available (it was one of my first purchases from Dies R Us). I do have some helpful tips that would work with any number of dies.  This is only one die but I created a multilayered piece.  I did this by cutting the die several times in different papers.  No need to waste paper, when I only need the cones, I placed a small piece of orange paper just large enough to cut out the cones.  Same with the tiny sliver of "reflective" tape, with these tiny pieces I put them in place and used a tape runner on the back side to hold the slivers in place.  Once I was done piecing the cuts back together, I popped up the cones and ball on pop dots for extra dimension.

Fall Soccer Scrapbook layout with Quick Quotes and Kiwi Lane

Alicia here today with a two page layout using several different Quick Quotes paper collections. They all coordinate so well together.  I started with the brand new lines Honeycomb and Earth, Wind & Fire available exclusively at QQ Private and Mini Reserves.  I also added some Whistlin' Dixie and 49 Shades of Grey.  They all come together to make a great fall layout.

Here are the individual pages.  I used both fussy cutting with templates and electronic cutting to create the titles and shapes.  I crumpled the leaves and grass to add some dimension to the layout without adding pop dots.  I love the texture it added but still remains basically flat.

I cut the blue paper with a template and used the reverse on the opposite page, I measured to have them meet perfectly at the seem.

And a close up seem of the pages, I love to have a little bit of "overlap" for continuity.

Play On! FC Cincinnati Spirit wear

Just a little quick post...I saw the challenge this week over at Bitten by the bug 2, very cool challenge btw.  But kind of out of my wheel house.  I happen to be cutting some soccer images for another project and these glasses popped up as an image I owned.  Since I was already cutting some soccer balls I found some orange and blue papers for FC Cincinnati my son's favorite minor league soccer team.  He has only missed one home game since we live within walking distance.  They play at Nippert Stadium on the UC campus.

I thought they turned out cute and were super easy!  I will probably make more of these glasses and props from the Life is a Party! cart.

Ingredients:
Life is a Party Cricut cart
Quick Quotes 49 Shades of Grey paper
Creative Memories card stock

Soccer layout with Sketch N Scrap Layout Sketch

I haven't scrapped in a few weeks, I have been working on Holiday cards for the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop.  I have just a few pages to complete for the year 2011.  I saw this sketch at Sketch N Scrap and thought it would work great for a soccer layout I still needed to finish.  I also used up the final papers from a soccer collection.

Here's the Sketch N Scrap layout sketch:

Close up of the title.  I sprayed the white tag with Heidi Swapp Navy spritz.  I also used up some old Creative Memories stickers.

Soccer Seasons Over...

Soccer Season is over...and I need to make a couple of thank you's for the coaches.

I used up some really old scraps of Creative Memories Everyday collection.  These were literally scraps.  I had no pieces bigger than 4x6!  I used some old Primary soccer stickers, too!  New items include The Paper Studio bling, Hampton Arts soccer clear stamps, Versacolor Royal blue ink and 7 Gypsies paper tape.

The second card everything is "cut" instead of torn.

Soccer Layout using Sketch~N~Scrap Challenge #36 & Blog Candy Winner

Happy Day!  I have visited random.org and have a winner from Saturday's Blog Hop,  Mary Jaminski!  Congrats!  Please send me an email with an address to send your prize!

For my post today here is a Sketch~n~scrap challenge layout:

When I see a new sketch challenge, I try to print out a picture of the sketch and tape it to the wall in front of my work space.  I have several taped there currently.  I then go through my current album that is organized according to the Creative Memories Power Layout method and using CM Power layout guides.  I will blog about this method of album organization later, but suffice to say I can flip through and find layouts that will work with say the 3 picture sketch provided by Sketch~N~Scrap.  I found several but this is the first one I completed.

I am not sure of the base paper because of my "Tiffanized" organization* but it was in my "green" bin and perfect for this layout with the fence like pattern.  The green and blue papers are Creative Memories.  The diecuts are from The Storytellers Club.  I used to belong to their monthly club and have tons of stuff that needs to be used.  I found these in my "soccer/sports" organized area.  I had already used the papers and other diecuts and since these were the only pieces left...they were lumped in with soccer.  It all came together perfectly. I elected to "double" the ribbon to add more black to the layout.  I also popped up some of the elements on pop dots.  I used the old CM small star punch for the stars.

Well,  I had to make page two match!

I love to complete!

This is  a miscellaneous soccer paper I had, I like how I made the photos like the balls bouncing across the page as in the print.
This is Close to my Heart Rock Star paper.  I also used the Creative Memories custom cutting system hex shape to make a page size ball.
