Back to School layout

Recently,  my mother gave me a container full of old pictures and I took the opportunity to spend a few hours on photo organization.  This photo was a random that was left  on my desk so I decided to scrap it.  After I completed the layout I had to research my digital files to confirm it was my son's first day of school last year, his senior year.  He had this bike for two years, so both Junior and Senior year pics include it.  He recently sold it but not to worry he still has three bicycles and that is still his mode of transportation.

Here's the sketch I used from Sketches in Thyme.

I used this bicycle once before because it looked so much like his.  I ended up putting it on a pop up card.  I don't think I ever blogged that card.  The image is from the Creative Memories Traveler cartridge.  I am sure I will use it again, but his primary bike is black so I will use different colors.

I love these lockers, they are on a currently free cart in Cricut Design Space called Makin' the Grade.  I added some metallic embellishments to the front of the lock.  It really adds to the cut.

Finally, my son attended a performing arts school, so I included some different images in this banner.  He was a technical theatre lighting major hence the tragedy and comedy mask with the light bulbs.  The light bulbs were neat to make from vellum and metallic card stock. I am sure to use that cut again in a larger size.  They are from the Close to My Heart Artistry cartridge.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Color My World papers, blue and green card stock
misc card stock, metallic and vellum papers
metal embellishments
Cricut images from the following carts:
Creative Memories Traveler
Makin' the Grade (currently free)
Autumn Celebrations
Close to My Heart Artistry and You are Here

Flower Unicorn from Miss Kate Cuttables

Hello readers, I been scrapping a lot lately but I have also made a few cards.  This one for my cousin's baby gift.  She had a girl.  I wanted to put this on a onesie but I didn't have the skills yet.  Now that I have watched a youtube video or two I am going to give it another whirl.  For now I think the paper version is perfect for the gift card.  If you want to see the gift, click here.

Here'a a close up of the cut from Miss Kate Cuttables.

Quick Quotes Far and Away layout

Good morning Quick Quotes readers, Alicia with you today.  I have for you a layout from my vacation to Jamaica earlier this year.  I love the prints on Quick Quotes papers so much I hate to cover it up.  So for this layout, I created some simple circles to provide a mat for the photos, that way a lot the pretty flowers, quotes and printed images are still visible around the outside of the paper.

I cut several pieces from the Quotes and Phrases pages.  I inked all the edges in Cool Gray Powderpuff chalking ink for uniformity.  I used a circle punch for the coin pieces.

I added some banners from Far and Away Quotes and Phrases 600 to the top.  I cut my title from some older Quick Quotes papers and inked it generously as I did all the pieces.  It is hard to see in the photo but I added over a dozen teeny tiny sequins to dress up the layout.

Quick Quotes Products:
Far and Away Paper: 101 and 105
Powderpuff Chalking ink:  Cool Gray

other products:
font:  Cricut Signature Script Fudge
circles:  Creative Memories large circle cutter and circle punch
sequins

Authentique Thank you so very much with Atlantic Hearts Challenge sketch

I really love this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts Challenge.  It was so fun with which to work.  The hardest part was finding a two part sentiment.  After which the rest was easy peasy.  I used some scraps for the bottom layers.  I die cut the sentiment and punched the flowers.

Here is this week's sketch.

Ingredients:
Authentique Harmony paper
Frantic Stamper cut corner rectangle dies
Queen & Co pearls
Quick Quotes Midnight Confessions chalking inks
Close to my heart Just to say stamps
Ranger Raven dye ink

Puppy love...Tim Holtz Dog Talk

Hello, today I am sharing a gift I made for my friend.  His dog has cancer and is crossing the rainbow bridge today.  I grabbed a pic from FB and made this precious necklace for him.  I also made this cute little gift bag for it.  I stamped, colored and die cut the Tim Holtz Dog Talk.  I layered it on a diecut on a die cut bag.  I used a masculine striped paper and added a twine handle.

Another angle.

Creative Memories Vintage Chic layout: Happily Ever After

I found this sketch on the The Scraproom Facebook Group.  They have several different monthly challenges.  I am fond of the Freaky Fast Formula challenge, you will have to request membership, but its a fun group and worth it.

Here's the sketch.

Close up of some of my elements.

I cut the tags with a punch and found this snippet of green satin ribbon on my desk.  The gold paper for the tags and banner is the same I used on my wedding invitations and decor.

I generously inked with gold the background paper to enhance the embossed details.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Vintage Chic Power palette
Jolee's title
Little B's resin claddaugh
K & Co bling flourish
vellum, ribbon and artic gold shimmer paper

Hooked...Quick Quotes Navigator Layout

Alicia here.  Today I am scrapping my nephew's first fish.  The new Navigator Papers are perfect for the occasion or any summer outdoor activity or travel.  I like to use the print in the paper to convey the mood and that's just what these papers do.  The blue waves of the Far & Away 102 paper make the perfect background.

A fun element I like to use is fussy cut fish on pop dots.  I simply cut out the fish that appealed to me and inked the edges.

I used actual fishing line to attach the fishing lure piece to the pole.  It's a super neat detail that make layouts pop!

Don't forget if you have a critter on your project, enter it in this month's Quick Quotes challenge until August 25.

Quick Quotes Products:

Here is a trio of projects I created with the Tropical theme.

First I played with my Distress Oxides.  I used a splatter blot technique on this image.  Then I went back in with some color touch ups on the cherry, pineapple and umbrella.  I die cut the image and layered it on coordinating Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue papers.  Finishing touches include raffia and a button.

Here's a close up of the Oxide play.  For the final touch I added glossy accents to the glass.

On card number 2, I used a couple of green Oxides to color the margarita.  This is the first time I used this sentiment stamp from DRS Designs.  I picked it up at Stampaway last year. I am working in the Judikins booth today, an annual tradition.  So it has taken a whole year, but it is perfect with my brand new Tim Holtz Cocktail Blueprint stamps.

This die may be old, but it is new to me...I picked this up on Craig's List for $5.  I am thrilled, this die was always on my wish list.  I plan on making many more petite purses.

Ingredients:
Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue papers Hibiscus Heaven and Island Jewel
Stampin Up Sizzix Petite Purse die
Quick Quotes Mango Mai Tai  and Midnight Confessions Chalking inks
Tim Holtz Cocktail Blueprint stamps
Colorbox Black ink
Judikins black detail embossing powder
Frantic Stamper Cut Corner Rectangle die

Here's a double page layout using product entirely from the Creative Memories Enchanted collection including the flowers, bling, title, sticker ribbon and papers.

Here is the sketch from Stick It Down.

I used the inside of the large Creative Memories circle template with the red blade to create the circle.

My cake and my bouquet.

The background papers are the same print but actually different colors.  This one is white and the cake page is an off white.

Close up of the flowers, all edges inked and layered with CM sparkling bling.
