Tim Holtz Funky Foliage Thinking of You card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Hello today.  I am showing my latest inspiration for Atlantic Hearts challenge,  It's been quite a while since I really got to do some intricate paper piecing.  I had carpel tunnel surgery on my left hand in June and will be doing my right in November.  Therefore, my crafting has suffered.  I expect to be so much better after it's all over!  Anyway I locked myself in my craft room over the Labor Day weekend and really had a great time playing with this die set.

Here is the sketch.

Here is a side view of my cluster.  This die set has several layers to each image.  I used two different ivory papers, two different reds and three browns.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment on kraft card stock after die cutting into a pierced oval.  I finished the project with adhesive brown pearls.

Here is my project with some of the products I used to create it.  I purchased most of these items second hand.  Surprisingly, the two inks came from my favorite store Indigo Hippo.  You do have to be careful purchasing second hand inks.  I also purchased the stamp set there a couple of years ago. It's been a good one.

Ingredients:
Hero Arts Thinking of You clear stamps (over a year old)
Versacolor ink Bark
Judikins Chocolate Twinkle embossing powder
Versamagic chalk ink Sahara Sand
Tim Holtz Sizzix Funky Foliage
Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Ovals
Queen & Co Bubbles Brown
misc papers and cardstock including Bazzill, kraft and pieces I treated with shimmer spray

Poppystamps Playful Faeries

Good morning! Alicia here today with a Playful Faerie card using several Poppystamps Faerie Die sets. I just love playing with these dies, there are so many combinations but on this card I decided to cut all my faeries out of vellum. I liked the whispy look with the water color background.

To create this scene I first began with inking a background. I also inked an extra piece of 5.5" x 3"ish piece for the grass layer that I would later die cut. I used lots of water on the ink so I used my heat gun to dry it a bit and let it sit for a while until it was completely dry before die cutting.

I die cut my kraft paper frame and adhered with pop dots.

I then went about cutting, several faeries with wings out of vellum. I also stamped, embossed then water colored my mushroom images. Oops, I almost forgot the vellum cloud! Then I went about adding the die cut pieces to my scene. Finally, I added a touch of clear shimmer pen to my faeries.

Monochromatic Peach with Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch

I had a brief moment to play around with some sketches.  I purchased a large pack of doilies from Michael's this past weekend.  There were about 8 colors included and this peach on just screamed to be matched up with the peachy papers I scored at Tuesday Morning. Don't you love it when you just look over your work space and your new scores just happen to sync up perfectly!  Or maybe I have just been in a peachy mood when shopping. After being home bound for several weeks, shopping is refreshing for once.  I also knew I needed some thank you cards for my doctor and nurses hence this card and tomorrows.

Here's the sketch I used:

Holiday Card Set with Queen & Co A2 die

Good morning readers, Alicia with you today.  I didn't just make A card for you today, I made an entire SET! I had so much fun using the Queen & Co Squares die, I just couldn't stop.  I started with ten sheets of 6x6 Christmas paper so I would have a variety of patterns with which to work.  It was like putting together puzzles.  I played with pairing up the different patterns and chose some sentiment stamps that fit inside the square pieces.  The die is a perfect A2 which made it so easy!

I made three cuts out of white cardstock.  I stamped sentiments on various white pieces.  I also added sentiments that were stamped and die cut from Lawn Fawn Winter Big Scripty Words Dies and Stamps to add some variety to the set.  I inked the edges of all the pieces before assembly. My goal was to produce an entire set without lumpy embellishments to cut down on postage.  I believe I was successful.  I have a collection of interesting cards that were fun and easy to create.  The variety of pattern papers provide interest without embellishments.

In the end I had eleven cards.  I made one card with a white frame to use up the majority of the remaining patterned pieces.  After all was said and done I had a few random pattern pieces, several white ones and two white frames.
