The Scraproom's Jumpstart Sketch and Connecticut's Gillette Castle

I had very good intentions with this layout although it went off course and I don't feel it's my best work, however, it's still a page completed!  I feel good about that.  I used a sketch and some older papers from my stash.

Here's the sketch.

Another view.

Ingredients:
We R papers Storytime: Jack, Rapunzel, Frog Prince and Gretel
Creative Memories sticker letters
7 Gypsies Short Base stickers (flourish)

Our Fairytale...Karen Burniston Castle Pop Up and Kindred Stamps

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  I have created a very special card for my husband to celebrate our anniversary.  I used several different manufacturer's products to create a one of a kind work.  The front of the card shown here is actually the last panel I created.  I took a cue from Karen Burniston and used leftover pieces and parts to lead into the big reveal...

The castle pop up!  The center piece of this project using the Karen Burniston Castle Pop Up die set.  I used We R brand papers Once Upon a Time throughout the project.  I did find a nice red for the brick and roof tiles in my Quick Quotes stash.

I am really in love with the castle pop up.  It was so easy.  The hardest part is choosing the papers.

I used alcohol markers to color my ogre's.

And the final result.

I didn't get a great shot of the clouds but some are fussy cut from the paper and some are die cut from the cloud paper with the cloud dies from the KB die set.

I used the same paper collection for the front.  I used a stencil and shimmer mist to create the stars.  I colored the fairy with alcohol markers with a hint of shimmer and glossy accents for eyeglasses.

Ingredients:
Karen Burniston Castle Pop-Up dies
Kindred Stamps Fairytale Swamp and Swamp Sidekicks stamps
Tim Holtz Hocus Pocus Layering Stencil
Spellbinders Foliage Two dies
We R Once Upon a Time papers
Quick Quotes Main Street paper (red)
twine
alcohol pens and Creative Memories gold metallic pen
shimmer spray and wink of stella pens

Dirt Mover with Sketch N Scrap sketch

I spent my long holiday weekend scrapping.  I am sending these to my SIL to add to her album. Young children are so much more fun to scrap.  My grown child won't even let me get a picture any longer.

Here is the sketch I used from Sketch N Scrap.  I made a few modifications.  I only had two photos and I didn't use a subtitle.

I found an assortment of products by various manufacturers but I feel they came together nicely for this very BOY layout.

Ingredients:
We R Inked Rose orange wash paper
TCP Studio The Great Outdoors Compass paper (reverse side)
Little Yellow Bicycle Fern & Forest chevron paper
yellow and black card stock
Autumn Leaves Tailor made boy sentiment ribbon
Creative Memories stickers

Daisy Challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2

Welcome to the Bitten By the Bug 2's biweekly Cricut challenge.  This time around our challenge is Daisy/Flowers to celebrate National Daisy Day.

I loved this simple daisy image from Spring Fling so much I cut it 3 times!!  So I made 3 similar but different cards.  I love making a series of cards.

One reason I like this Daisy image was the "write" layer.  It has another extra pop.  I always try to add a extra layer on cut whether it be some bling or glitter.  One little extra really can bring an image to life.  I also inked the edges for dimension.

A close up of the cut.

Here's my Cricut Explore Air writing with the Cricut yellow pen.

Ingredients:
Cricut Spring Fling image
We R Feelin' Groovy 6x6 paper
Kiwi Lane templates including Mini Madison Ave
Graphic 45 Nature's Sketchbook sentiment
Stampin Up Gumball Green ink and card stock
Cricut Candy Corn Med 1.0 pen
yellow card stock and gems

At the Beach with Scrap the Boys

Good morning!  I am still working on my nephews album and with this layout I was just kind of winging it, no sketch.  Pretty simple and old school but I was trying to bust out as many as I could before Xmas.

My title did not turn out the way I wanted it.  I recently purchased We R thickers alignment templates at Tuesday Morning.  I have the old Creative Memories sets and have used them so much.  The curves looked nice so I decided to try this one.  It is really my fault, I should have used the small version with the same curves and the would have been more curve to the title.  In this case I used the full 12" wave template and it didn't look as good since my title was so short.  Lesson learned.

Ingredients:
The Storytellers Club kit
Creative Memories Sticker letters

Creative Memories Vintage Chic layout: Happily Ever After

I found this sketch on the The Scraproom Facebook Group.  They have several different monthly challenges.  I am fond of the Freaky Fast Formula challenge, you will have to request membership, but its a fun group and worth it.

Here's the sketch.

Close up of some of my elements.

I cut the tags with a punch and found this snippet of green satin ribbon on my desk.  The gold paper for the tags and banner is the same I used on my wedding invitations and decor.

I generously inked with gold the background paper to enhance the embossed details.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Vintage Chic Power palette
Jolee's title
Little B's resin claddaugh
K & Co bling flourish
vellum, ribbon and artic gold shimmer paper
Galaxy Gold Brillance ink

Miss Kate Cuttables Woodland Owl card

I have another card from my Miss Kate Cuttables images.  I love owls.  You may have seen my Graduation Owl card for my niece.  This one I created the owl and then decided to make a card using the We R Happy Campers paper as the background.

These tiny stars are part of the MKC cut but the "moon" is a stitched manual die from ODBD.  I used a silver pen for the dots in the eyes.

In this photo you can see the awesome dimension in this cut file.

Ingredients:
Miss Kate Cuttables Woodland Owl
We R Happy Campers paper
Our Daily Bread Designs stitched circle dies
misc card stock
vellum

Toadstool Clippings...Atlantic Heart Challenge sketch inspiration

Good morning, today I have my latest inspiration for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I used several different materials to create the image of a bottle.  I even used a sheet of cork to fussy cut the stopper.

Here's the sketch:

Image may contain: text

I highlighted the ripples of the corrugated paper with chalking ink.  It's hard to discern but I covered white paper with washi tape and punched out the tag shape. That layer is behind the die cut Toadstool label.  In between those two layers is a layer of Martha Stewart spider web ribbon.

Ingredients:
We R label
Martha Stewart spider web ribbon
misc spiders
corrugated paper and cork
washi tape, white card stock and a tag punch
circle punch and Quick Quotes paper

Pineapple Welcome Interlocking gatefold card with Atlantic Hearts Challenge sketch

Good morning readers, I have my inspiration for this week's Atlantic Hearts challenge sketch.  I created two cards both are interlocking gatefolds.  I was participating in a gatefold card swap and felt this sketch was a perfect match for the swap.

Here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts challenge blog:

The interlocking parts are really simple using nesting dies.  Simply adhere one half of each part on opposite sides of the card.

The second card I made flips the sketch.

I used the brads and embellishments on the lower edge in which to tuck the outside part of the closure.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up stamp and Crushed Curry ink
We R Happy Campers paper
Spellbinders scallop circle dies
Quick Quotes Mocha Moma chalking ink
wood and enamel dots
frosted brads
ribbons
various card stock
