Creative Memories with Sketch N Scrap

While I had this old Creative Memories paper out, I found a few more photos that lend themselves to the colors of this paper collection.  Found this sketch from Sketch N Scrap and it went together pretty easy.

I was also inspired by The Scraproom Group's Color Challenge.

Criss Cross Pocket card with Stampin Up and Quick Quotes for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I must admit I created this card a few weeks ago and yes, I did get it to my mother before Mother's Day.  As soon as I saw this sketch I was reminded of this criss cross pocket card.  I made these once before for Xmas cards and loved them.  I was so happy to revisit this fold.  Of course, I didn't remember and had to find some videos.  I still kind of did my own thing here to fit the sketch.

Here's the sketch.

The insert includes a Quick Quotes coordinating embellishment.  The card is used one 8.5"x11" piece of paper instead of half of one but still creates an A2 card.  Cut the paper in half creating two A2's (;long) and score at 5.5".  Then cut a triangle from the "front" half of the card.  Overlap the back solid panels and adhere.  This will leave you with the two triangular fronts.  The mats and inserts are simply cut down by increments to fit.

I love the combination of Quick Quotes Farmhouse and Stampin Up Dusty Durango I had to make another one.  I criss crossed the other way on this one and also it doesn't have the Mother's Day theme.  I used dies to create the layered center piece.

The inside of this card.  I stamped a large bold sentiment from Stamplorations.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes Farmhouse papers and embellishments
Stampin Up Dusty Durango paper and ink
Close to My Hearts sentiment
Stampin Up punches
Petaloo flowers
Stitched scallop dies
Stamplorations sentiment stamp (card 2)

Miss Kate Cuttables Sunshine for Bitten By the Bug 2 Sun Challenge

It is time again for a Bitten By the Bug 2 challenge~Show me the Sun challenge.  Summer Solstice was this past Saturday, the official start of the summer season.  It has more hours of daylight than any day of the year.  I found this great photo of the summer sun over Walden Pond.  I dug out some really old papers with great colors to highlight my photo.

Here are my cuts.  The MKC title was cut with a different sun but I didn't like the colors or style of the sun so I cut another one from Art Philosophy.

I used this sketch from The Scraproom Group on FB.

This is a 3-D embellishment sticker is way more that a year old...from 2013!

Ingredients:
Cricut Close to My Heart Art Philosophy-sun
Miss Kate Cuttables-Summer (title)
Creative Memories Seasons paper and embellishments (2013)

Steampunk DAD card

If you have been reading my blog the past few days, I described my artistic block.  This was the first card that I tried. It sat on my desk for days. I began by stenciling a background with Distress inks.  Then it sat for a few more days. I didn't want to layer too much on top of my handiwork so I used a scrap of paper behind the silhouette die cut.  This is the card I sent my dad.

Ingredients:
Tim Holtz Sticker letters
Distress ink Vintage Photo
Clear Scraps gears stencil
Sue Wilson Industrial Chic Mixed Essentials & Corner
kraft card base

Sue Wilson Shadow Box Wedding for Cuttlebug Mania

Today I am guest designing for Cuttlebug Mania and their challenge is Wedding.  I have used my Sue Wilson set before but I have not created the entire card together.  The set has so many options, there were several dies I didn't use but I think the card turned out perfect with the ones I did use.  I am quite fond of the wedding bells and have used them previously on a scrapbook layout and the heart on a Valentine's card.

I broke out some old unopened Creative Memories paper.  It contained these wonderful soft shades of dotted grays.  I used shimmer paper for the background for an added elegance.  But the centerpiece is the lush red embossed velvet heart.  The embossing is part of the die.  Finally, I stamped and embossed the sentiment on the same ivory shimmer paper.

Ingredients:
Sue Wilson Shadow Box Wedding dies
Creative Memories Starstruck papers
Colorbox Black ink
Sunburn silver embossing powders
shimmer paper, red velvet and misc card stock

Time for a Brake Cricut Traveler card

I made a third card for the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and since I used a different paper I decided to write a new post for this one.  I used the same dies and stamp set but this orange card matched this super cute background paper so well so I switched it up.  The dotted trees makes the enamel dots hard to distinguish but they are there.

Here is the sketch again:

Ingredients:
Chatterbox Sunny Day paper
Lawn Fawn road die
Cricut Traveler car cut
Stampin Up Road to Happiness and punch (from 2013)
misc card stock and acetate
A Muse Mushroom ink
Judikins Clear detail embossing powder
gems

It's time again for my turn at this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I knew immediately that I would pull out my Lawn Fawn road die for this one.  I have used it many times prior but always love it.  I used a paper background with houses here and thought it was so cute.

Here is the sketch:

I made a blue version and stamped a different sentiment from the same set.

Ingredients:

Cricut Traveler car cut
Little Yellow Bicycle Feels like Home paper
