C.A.S.E. A Card Blog Hop

Welcome to the

Remember the old kids game, Telephone? You know the one where a secret is told to the first person in line and then they tell what they think they heard to the next person and they tell the next person and so on and so on.  At the end of the line, the person says what they heard and the first person tells what they originally said and laughter erupts because the two things are nothing alike.

Well today's hop plays that game, but with card making instead of secrets.

This hop is un-like any you've probably ever been too.

We took one card created by Theresa from Scraps by gracie and sent it to the next blogger who then C.A.S.E.d the card (copy and steal everything) and sent her card on to the next blogger who C.A.S.E.d it and sent her card to the next blogger.  You get the idea.

When you are done hopping you'll see how different or maybe how similar the last card is to the first.

So let's get hopping.

You should have arrived here from Jessica's blog If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop click on the blog logo above to be taken to Theresa's blog .

Quick Quotes Gypsy Road Masculine Card "Chase your dreams"

Good morning Quick Quotes readers!  Alicia with you today to showcase some more Gypsy Road collection.  I have a teenage son and I have been wanting to make him a card with the brick side of the Gypsy Road 200 paper ever since I first got my hands on it!  I also used a few other papers from Gypsy Road collection.  I ripped, inked and distressed them with a distressing tool for a youthful, urban masculine card for my son.  I primarily inked with Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink but I used the Maraschino Cherry Powder Puff ink to color the chipboard frame as it matched the bricks the best.  I used some great sentiment stickers from the Gypsy Road Die Cut Sticker sheet and finally I added some burlap trim, brads, and a strip of washi tape to finish it off.  All that is layered on black card stock.  I must not forget to add a liner to write on, I often find myself picking up a card where I have waited to make the liner is to be able to stamp a quick "happy birthday" or "congratulations" inside.  But I should make them when I create the card to insure matching papers. I could give this card for a number of reasons stamping a more specific sentiment inside.

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch

I recently participated in a "get well" card kit swap.  This is what I did with one of the kits and the latest Sketch N Scrap card sketch:

I am sorry I don't know the details of the contents of the kit, I just found out it was my friend Nichole, one of the organizers of our little Facebook group.  I did add some old Creative Memories vellum, the rest of the pieces all came with the kit.  It is really beautiful and I am going to send it to my grandmother.

Here's the Sketch N Scrap sketch:

Make your life a Fairy Tale! Embossed background card

I made this card as part of creative crafty endeavor.  My friend, Theresa made the background and sent it to me.  I made backgrounds and sent them to her.  We made the cards live as part of an online crop.  I love the iridescent sparkles on the kraft paper!  I stamped one of my favorite new sentiment stamps on a marbled paper and die cut with a Spellbinders nestablities.  I used the new Quick Quotes Sky Blue chalk ink.  I added some K & Co florals, bling and an American Craft ribbon.  I think this will be great for a spring wedding card.

I have for my rainbow contribution, something a bit different.  I have scrapped a concert of a Pink Floyd cover band, Welcome to the Machine.  They performed at the Riverbend Music Festival with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra.  The kids were dying to see them, however, it turned out to be a bit more mellow than they figured on...all in all a good show though.  So I tried my hand at CASing the Dark side of the Moon cover, what do you think?

I cut the triangle with a thin die cut (I can't remember with brand) from a black piece of card stock and colored it with white chalk and a white pen and popped it up on pop dots.  The rainbow is washi tape.  I wanted to keep it simple like the album cover.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Up next is Angela

Celebrate! Quick Quotes Monthly Challenge for April

Good Friday!  Alicia here today with your Quick Quotes April Challenge! April is a good month to Celebrate!  So let's celebrate Easter, Spring, births, or create cards anticipating next month's graduations or Mother's Day.  Your entry can include a layout, card or mixed media creation just Celebrate something!  I chose to create a layout celebrating my wedding. What better way to celebrate than with the Quick Quotes Celebrate collection!  This photo is of me and my mother, whom I also want to celebrate.

Here are some highlights of the layout.  I layered some laser die cut flowers on top of the Quick Quotes metal flower.  I hid a Cricut cut butterfly under the ribbon.  It is hard to tell from the pictures but I created an embossed image on the yellow paper with clear embossing powder and Versamark ink to give it a subtle texture.

To create the flowers I first colored them with Powder Puff chalking inks, then I folded all the petals. Finally, I put them all together with a brad and chalk the edges again. Folding and creasing the petals gives them so much dimension even though they are flatten again.

Quick Quotes Products:

laser cut dies from Joy Ride 400 paper

other products:
misc brads and gems
Cricut cart
veramark and Judikins clear detail embossing powder
misc flourish stamp

Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see your entries in our Celebration challenge!!
