Stampin Up Musical card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Welcome once again to my inspiration for the latest Atlantic Hearts Challenge sketch.  I began with the idea to create a thank you card for a friend.  I stamped a musical background on an A2 piece of shimmer card stock.  I used a rainbow ombre ink pad and then die cut strips of the stamped image.  I spaced them appropriately on the green mat layered .25" smaller than the A2 card of white card stock.

Here's this week's sketch:

I cut two nesting circle dies and stamped and embossed the sentiment on the white top circle.  I found some music note dies in my stash and added those as embellishments.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Music background stamp
Stampin Up Music From the Heart
Stampin Up Kaleidocolor Celebration ink
Colorbox Mix'd Media Black ink
Judikins Northwoods embossing mix-half detail clear and half detail black
Divinity Designs Double Stitched Circle dies
Kat Scrappiness Stitched Sentiment Strip dies
Spellbinders Love Notes dies

First Birthday scrapbook page for Sketches in Thyme

Hello, it's my turn over on the Sketches in Thyme Facebook page to be a monthly maven with my interpretation of this week's sketch.  I fell in love with this layout.  I found a great combination of papers and embellishments to compliment the photos.  It is quite a mix of second hand products, old product and name brand tools.

Here is this week's sketch. I used the Creative Memories custom cutting system to make the circles out of some really old Creative Memories card stock, dusty blue and dusty pink (I think).  I would have to say that is my go to tool for scrapbooking.  While my Big Shot is probably my go to for card making.  I also used a punch and Kiwi Lane templates to create embellishments from premium papers.

The designer cardstock was procured from a crafty yard sale. I have a feeling it's Park Lane (Joann's brand) because other papers I purchased were.  This was a partial stack and I just loved the colors but the rose gold foil treatments cinched the purchase.  I had some rose gold foil papers in my stash which I used to make the elements.

The sticker letters were flocked, the perfect soft touch.  I added punched flowers layered in the various scrap card stock and finished with a pearl center.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Custom Cutting System Circles
Creative Memories slate card stock
Stampin Up Blossom Bunch Punch
Kiwi Lane templates:  Nature 3T and Explore 3T
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks Feather Gray
card stock and sticker letters from my stash
pearls

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to play along on the Sketches in Thyme Facebook page until the end of the month.

Waffle Flower Snail card with Atlantic Hearts Sketch

Hello dear readers, I am playing with some new dies today. I recently purchased this set from Scrapbook.com.  I have made a few orders from that site lately.  There is so much to choose from they just have everything on my wish list and more!  Back to the task at hand, building this adorable card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch 516. The squares in the background posed a bit of an issue, they could not be perfectly square on an A2 card.  The card base is based on the squares size of 1.75" x 1.75".

Here is the sketch.

Here is a close up of my snail.  I inlaid the eye and cheek from cuts using the tiniest scraps.  I used some super pretty and thin iridescent film therefore I layered it on a white circle.  The spiral is cut from an alcohol ink scrap I had on my desk.

I stamped the sentiment on a Kindred Stamps sentiment strip, I love these! I used some A muse ink for the first time and loved it.

Ingredients:
Waffle Flower Snail Trio dies
Hero Arts You're a Fungi
A muse Grape ink
Kindred Stamps Sentiment Strip dies
papers from my stash
iridescent film

Kindred Stamps Galactic Hunter with Gemini Fairytale Forest Create a card die set and Atlantic Hearts Sketch

Hello and welcome to my inspiration for Atlantic Hearts challenge sketch #514.  This card ended up being my husband's Valentine's card.  He loves this series.  I invested a lot of time creating this card.  It may not be apparent but I embossed each of the elements of the background forest.  I also used Distress Oxides to color the white of the card.

Here is the sketch:

This is the first layer of embossing.  Clear embossing ink with Distress Antique Linen embossing glaze.  This pen had a blue tint that did not disappear when embossed so the mushrooms did not turn out the color I anticipated.  From here on out I used the Marvy embossing pens in green and brown.

The next layer where the green trees.  They came out a bit darker than anticipated.  I always feel the first time using a new product needs a test run...and this card is just that for this die set.

Here's a close up of the characters and embossing.
