Karen Burniston and Lawn Fawn Out of this World Slider Card

Hello, today I am here with a slider card.  I began with a Distress Oxide ink background. I used several colors then went over the entire surface with Black Soot leaving some color visible.  I sprayed shimmer spray and used a Wink of Stella pen to create stars.

Next I die cut the center with the Lawn Fawn Slide On Over Wave die  In the meantime, I had already die cut the space ship and alien from the Karen Burniston Space Charms I cut the alien into pieces to fit into the space ship.  I added a layer of acetate on top of the alien there is a special die for this in the set.  I cut the other piece from silver metallic card stock. I added gems in the light holes. I used a pen to color the eyes and lips of the alien and tires of the ship using the embossing area of the die. I used the basic penny method to add the spaceship to the wavy slider cut.

I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Beam Me Up Stamps and die cut it with the banner die from Karen Burniston Triple Flip dies.

Quick Quotes Farmhouse with Sketches in Thyme

Hello, it's my turn again at Sketch in Thyme.  This month I created a layout with photos from my vacation last month.  We often travel to see concerts with our friends.  These photos are of my friend Cyndi and her pretty dress.  We were all dressed up to go to dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday in St. Augustine

Here is the sketch:

I used Quick Quotes Farmhouse papers and quotes.  I printed the hibiscus flower twice, fussy cut and pop dotted them on top of each other.  I then blue sprinkled flowers in a spray.

I also stamped some flourishes and added some die cut flourishes.

I matted the photos in navy card stock.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes Farmhouse collection
Quick Quotes Navy Powderpuff chalking ink
Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Flourish die
Autumn Leaves Flourish stamps
silk flowers and brads

Don't forget to play along over at Sketches in Thyme until the end of the month. This is the last sketch of the month, so there's several chances to play along.

Cricut Art Nouveau May Flowers challenge for Bitten by the Bug 2

Hello and welcome to the latest challenge for Bitten By the Bug 2. The theme for this challenge is May Flowers.  I made a trio of cards using flowers from the Art Nouveau image set.

This first card uses the Triple Tulip image.  I found this watercolor printed paper in my stash.  I thought it was perfect for the center cut of the flower.

This is the Cala Lillies image on a background of super pretty printed paper, die cut and layered.

The final card is the Daffodil image.  The light green paper is Stampin Up Pistachio Pudding.

All the cards use Art Nouveau images, Our Daily Bread Designs Double stitched rectangle dies and various papers including Stampin Up Pistachio Pudding, Creative Memories card stock and printed papers.

Miss Kate Cuttables Graduation Owl Congrats for Bitten by the Bug 2

Hello and welcome to the latest Bitten by the Bug 2 Graduation challenge.  I used some Cricut and some Miss Kate Cuttables images.  I had cut this owl before and I actually cut two of them. One with a tie and one without.

The white collar didn't seem to fit correctly.  On this version I fussy cut my own.  So this one looks a little different.

If you look closely, you can see who the white collar is a little different. There's a little bit of brown showing between the gown and collar on this one. It just bothered me.

Ingredients:
Cricut 3 Birds Life's a Party
Miss Kate Cuttables Graduation Owl
Creative Memories Black & White Power palette
misc card stock

Thinking of you for Mother's Day

Hello dear readers, I waited until the day after to reveal the Mother's Day card I sent to my mom.  I thought the butterflies were perfect for this holiday.  However, this could be a great pick me up card for any occasion.  Any PIvot Card Die set can help you create a wow factor card easily. This die cut mechanism is just about the simplest to make, just line it up on your crease with one pass through your machine.  All this is left is to decorate.

I used the complimentary Elizabeth Craft Designs Butterfly Accessory dies to help accessorize the card. I used a flourish stamp to lightly add some interest to the shimmer cover stock I used for the base.  The thicker the base the better the pivot mechanism will endure.

I added bling to the antenna and the centers of the flowers.  I used more shimmer paper and pretty prints for additional decorative cuts.  I finished off the card with a die cut sentiment.

Karen Burniston Triple Flip and Amy Design Friendly Frogs for Dies R Us

Hello dear readers, I was so excited to get a new die set with movement that I began working with it immediately.  I recently received the Karen Burniston Triple Flip die set.  I have all sorts of ideas swimming in my head but I started with my other new dies from the Amy Design Friendly Frogs collection.  There were so many frogs from which to choose, it was easy to fill all the panels on the triple flip.

I found it super easy to assemble with the help of  Karen Burniston's Triple Flip Assembly video.  One of the tips I took from the video was to use foam tape to back the flip panel.  This allowed for plenty of room for the flip to happen behind the scene.  I also cut and inlaid the arrow from a scrap piece of the patterned paper. Another option is to add washy tape between the layers instead of leaving an empty arrow.

I used the same scalloped frame in each panel but the set has a few different combinations from which to create.  The smaller frogs are from the Amy Design Friendly Frogs - Frog Frame die set.

I used the Karen Burniston Party Border Blends to add interest across the top.  I also sprinkled some jewels in the border.

I stamped a one of kind sentiment with an alpha stamp set.  This card is already in the mail to my nephew whom we plan to visit later this month.  Adults are impressed with kinetic cards but I have a feeling my nephew will play with this card.  Good thing it is designed with reinforcements in all the mechanical areas.  I think it will last through hundreds of flips.

I stamped the water across the bottom using the Amy Design Friendly Frogs-Clear Stamps.
