Stamps of Life Pinata stamps and dies for Cinco de Mayo and Double Trouble Guest Designer

Welcome to my final installment as April's Guest Designer for Double Trouble Challenge #165 "SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing". This Challenge runs from Monday, April 29th thru Sunday, May 4th.  The Twisted Sister twist is to use an image from the prompt which celebrate Cinco de Mayo.  I searched my stash and found this adorable pinata set from Stamps of Life.

Here is the prompt for Challenge #165 for more details and to enter follow the link.

I used several dies for this project besides the Stamps of Life Pinata set, I used a Catherine Pooler slimline die. I actually cut the inside to create a frame.

I chose to use an Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch for the Double Dare.

I purchased the set second hand.  I was thrilled to learn the odd die included with the set was the bonus fringe die!  My new favorite.  It just made this card. Apparently SOL sell a larger version independently but this one was a mini included with the monthly subscription.

Ingredients:
Catherine Pooler Slimline Essentials (frame)
Stamps of Life Pinata 2 stamp and dies
Stampin Up Festive Birthday paper
Versafine Onyx Black ink
misc card stock and papers

It's time for my monthly inspiration for Sketches in Thyme.  Join us at over on Facebook to play with this sketch or any of the other three for April. You have until April 30 to play along. Now I will tell you a bit about my take on the sketch.  I decided to mimic the stripes with strips of paper from a Pink Paislee collection.  I fussy cut several images and put them on pop dots for embellishments.  I also added die cuts and hand made tags.

Here is the sketch.

Spellbinders August 2020 Around the World dies (airplane)
Heart globe die
arrow paper clips

Stampin Up Label Love and Artisan Punch with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  I like to keep some premade backgrounds in my stash and I ran across this embossed card.  I thought it would be a perfect compliment for the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here is this week's sketch. It is so versatile.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment.  Then I punched it with the coordinating punch.  I used pop dots to allow for room to loop my fiber under it.  I distressed the top of the embossed background with some copper ink to highlight a "happy".

Here's a close up of my sentiment.  My banner is on a thick paper with specks of glitter inside.  I chose the embossing powder to match the flecks. I finished the card off with copper fiber and stars.

Ingredients:
Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder
Stampin Up Label Love stamp (age about 10 years)
Stampin Up Artisan Label Punch
Brillance Cosmic Copper ink
Ranger Embossing Tinsel: Copper
Stampin Up Sizzix Banners Framelits
Stampin Up Elements: Stars
Stampin Up Copper fiber
misc card stock and papers

Stampin Up Seas the Day CAS Less but Better for Double Trouble Challenge #164

Today is my second installment as guest designer for Double Trouble Challenge for Challenge 164 which is CAS Less but Better.  CAS is a little hard for me to create.  I like inky and I am pretty messy.  The Twisted Sister twist did help a bit, use color cardstock for the "white" space.  As you can see, that worked for me.

Here is the prompt from Double Trouble Challenge 164.  You can find all the details following the link.

I recently acquired this Stampin Up set.  There are so many wonderful layered cards with the set, however, I easily envisioned this CAS design with the deep sea creatures featured on a shimmer ink splatter.

I created a second card with the same set, different creature and colors.  You can see why I am not a fan of CAS.  After I was completely done, I smeared ink at the bottom toward the left.  It's visible in the photo but really apparent in person as the ink is black.  I was also a bit disappointed with the ink I used for the sentiment.  It is the same as the jellyfish but it does not "pop" off the shimmer spray.  Again, in real life all the shimmer inks and sprays do look very pretty.

Another view of the iridescent inked jelly fish and sentiment.

Here are both cards.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Seas the Day stamps and dies
Scrapbook.com Vacation cardstock
Tim Holtz Distress inks: Peacock Feathers, Salvage Patina and Tumbled Glass
Tattered Angels Dazzling Diamonds glimmer mist
Stampin Up Crisp Cantaloupe ink
Versafine Onyx Black
Radiance White Cover stock from Marco's

jellyfish-Brillance Pearlescent Purple and Pearlescent Twilight ink

Scrapbook.com Happy Spring Bouquet

Hello Spring!  This week has really harbored the welcome sunshine of spring here in Ohio. I recently played along with SBC Fest class by Laura Graff. The great thing about the fest is that you can follow along with the classes after the fact.  I am quite fond of pressing pause to catch up with the video.  Here I created an almost exact copy of the case save for a few products from my stash.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Sizzix Wreath Builder (bow die)
Liquid Pearls
misc card stock

Once again, here is the link to the SBC Fest class by Laura Graff for instructions to this project and more.

"Let's Get Krafty" Earth Day card as Double Trouble Guest Designer

Hello and happy April! I have been invited to be the guest designer this month at Double Trouble Challenge.  April's first challenge is "Let's Get Krafty" and runs through April 14.  I  used kraft card stock as my card base.  I used a variety of techniques to incorporate shades of blue as per the Twisted Sister element.

Here's the prompt for Double Trouble challenge #163.

Here is a close up of my die cut and background.  I inked the edges and shaded with chalking ink.  I sprayed the kraft card stock with shimmer spray to lend a touch of sparkle. The sparkle background segues into iridescent paper I used for the globe stand.  I cut both parts of the globe from shades of blue in keeping with the Twisted Sister prompt.

Ingredients:
Spellbinders August 2020 Around the World dies
Kindred Stamps Earth Day stamps
Stampin Up Blueberry Bushel ink
Lindy's Gang Starburst Sprays Bachelor Button Blue
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink Blue Moon

The final piece of this challenge is to join in the challenge over at Inspiration Station.  HERE is there prompt and more details.

This will qualify you for an additional chance in our random drawing. "Try to leave the Earth a better place than it was when you arrived.” -- Sidney Sheldon
