First Day of School for Bitten By the Bug's Use a Number challenge

Good day readers, it's time for a new challenge at BBTB2.  The challenge is to Use a Number.  This one should be easy.  You still have Christmas (25), the New Year (2020), a birthday card or anniversary.  So many ideas for numbers.  Mine is a little off season but I always scrap pages for my SIL/nephew to add to an album I gifted them.  This year was his first year at preschool.  I found the cutest strip of numbers to use.  Then I added the "first day of school" image for a title.

Here is a close up of the Locker Talk First Day of School image.

These numbers are actually the negatives of the image with is numbers in a bubble type strip.  I inked the edges before adhering to the page.

Technically this is the first page.  I left the journal card for my SIL to complete. I cut the title with my Cricut Maker using the Cricut Sans font.

Ingredients:
Cricut carts:  Locker Talk, Cricut Sans font and Close to My Heart-Artbooking
Creative Memories Primary and High School Kits
misc card stock

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to play along for the next two weeks at BBTB2.

Rainbow World Back to School card

Hello,  I whipped up this cute card with some inspiration from various challenges.  I really liked the rainbows at The Card Concept and the sketch from Tuesday Morning.  I also took inspiration from some fall and apple challenges.

The apple is two layers and I used a red dot pattern for the top layer and a golden red printed layer for the bottom.  All the papers are retired Quick Quotes collections.  The stickers are old Creative Memories.  I love putting a new spin on old products.

Ingredients:
Cricut cut from Autumn Celebration
Stickers and bling from Creative Memories
Paper from Quick Quotes
Chalking ink from Quick Quotes

Back to School layout

Recently,  my mother gave me a container full of old pictures and I took the opportunity to spend a few hours on photo organization.  This photo was a random that was left  on my desk so I decided to scrap it.  After I completed the layout I had to research my digital files to confirm it was my son's first day of school last year, his senior year.  He had this bike for two years, so both Junior and Senior year pics include it.  He recently sold it but not to worry he still has three bicycles and that is still his mode of transportation.

Here's the sketch I used from Sketches in Thyme.

I used this bicycle once before because it looked so much like his.  I ended up putting it on a pop up card.  I don't think I ever blogged that card.  The image is from the Creative Memories Traveler cartridge.  I am sure I will use it again, but his primary bike is black so I will use different colors.

I love these lockers, they are on a currently free cart in Cricut Design Space called Makin' the Grade.  I added some metallic embellishments to the front of the lock.  It really adds to the cut.

Finally, my son attended a performing arts school, so I included some different images in this banner.  He was a technical theatre lighting major hence the tragedy and comedy mask with the light bulbs.  The light bulbs were neat to make from vellum and metallic card stock. I am sure to use that cut again in a larger size.  They are from the Close to My Heart Artistry cartridge.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Color My World papers, blue and green card stock
misc card stock, metallic and vellum papers
metal embellishments
Cricut images from the following carts:
Creative Memories Traveler
Makin' the Grade (currently free)
Autumn Celebrations
Close to My Heart Artistry and You are Here

It's time to get schooled!

And this little girl is the one to do it!

I cut her using Cricut Design Space's free images this week.  I used lots of scraps and inked the edges with Quick Quotes Midnight Confession.  I believe the dotted paper is SEI.

I made a second card with a Cricut cut from Create a Friend.  I was looking for just the perfect paper to mat the image and I could not find anything in my stash.  I did find an old set of Creative Memories stickers (I used one here) with writing paper but it wasn't quite right for my project.  So I made my own!  I used the reverse side of the EP blue paper with Prisma pencils and a straight edge to lightly mark lines in blue and red to mimic writing paper.  I just love how it turned out.

Here is a detail picture of the background I created.

Ingredients:
Girl:  Cricut Recess cart (free on Design Space this week)
Teacher:  Cricut Create a Friend
Frantic Stamper Stitched Rounded Rectangle dies
Echo Park blue/white paper
Cucumber shimmer card stock
scrap card stock
Prisma pencils
Distress marker in lucky clover
enamel dots, button, ribbon
Creative Memories sticker

I am the last person in the hop!  Hope you enjoyed yourself!

Quick Quotes Back to School tag set

Hello,  Alicia blogging today.  I have created a cute Back to School tag set.  I used my Cricut and a mix of old and new Quick Quotes papers.  These were really easy and Quick Quotes papers cut like a butter on the card stock plus setting. I inked all the edges with Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink and then used a black sheer ribbons on the ends.

Here is each of tags I made individually photographed.

Upon completion I used a metal ring to clip them all together, however, I may give them each to different teachers as a fun welcome back gift. Quick, easy and versatile!

Let's head on it to the classroom and see these amazing back to school projects!

I made this card for one of my nieces.  It so reminded me of her, she just turned 13 and this is her first year of high school! I used my Cricut and the Autumn Celebration cart.  You can purchase specific themes of images for less but I am so glad I purchased the entire cart.  I have used it way more than I thought I would.

I just love the girl's tie dye purple hair!  The teen girl also came in a card form with not as much detail, I will hold on to this one for later use.

Finally, I made a more unisex card.  I have used the locker image before but not the card version.  It is pretty small.  I would make this one bigger next time.

Ingredients:
Cricut cuts from Autumn Celebration
misc card stock
Quick Quote chalking inks

Up next is Ashley!  I am sure she will get in you in the back to school frame of mind!

Here is my project:

I took these pics last year or so at open house at my son's school.  He is a technical theater major and this was his scenery classroom.  It is also the backstage of the Corbett Theater which is home to the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.  My son's technical education is obviously world class.  We feel so lucky to attend.  It is a public school but auditions are required.  If a student lives outside of Ohio they may also pay tuition to attend.  It is not your typical high school!  Several high profile persons have attended including Nick and  Drew Lachey of 98 degree fame.

I just loved these lockers from Cricut Design Space!

(a piece of silver came off while photographing and I stuck it back in the wrong place...I fixed it when I put it in the album)

Ingredients:
Cricut Autumn Celebration, Varsity font
Basic Grey Obscure papers Random and Rock
WeR Teen Angst Psyched
Bazzill card stock in various colors
Kiwi Lane templates: Accents 6T, Adventure 4, Explore 4T, 5T

Thanks for taking a look!

Denise is up next!
