Creative Memories Sports Finish Strong for Bitten By the Bug 2

Welcome to the latest challenge from Bitten By the Bug 2. Our challenge this time around is sports. I created a layout of a half marathon my son ran last year. He finished first in his age division. I must say I did not take any of these photos. I borrowed them from the internet. They were featured on the race website and the local news.

I used the negative cut from page 2 as a stencil for page 1. I simply sponged some distress ink and held in place with my hand. I was NOT that concerned with precision.

I manipulated the layout of the title. It was a square with the shoe as part of the design. I used the shoe in the lower left.

I made a duplicate of the title and contoured only the shoe to create a stripe of color in the sole.

The second page was actually the first page I created. I loved the Finish Strong title available with Cricut Access.

I also made a duplicate of this title and contoured the runner. I cut the second runner out of the background paper in a spot that I knew would be covered by the badge mat.

Cricut Outdoor Adventure for Bitten By the Bug 2

It's time for an outdoor adventure! The next biweekly challenge from Bitten By the Bug 2-Let's Get Outdoors! I have had some beautiful weather lately and just going for a walk is a blessing these days. The adventure I scrapped today was no simple walk around the neighborhood. The event I scrapped was an ultra-marathon. You may have seen my mini album for my son from the same event. This is a page I did for his friend who ran the half. His family did not attend so I hope to frame this and give it to him when the current situation is over.

I found a sheet of the same old Creative Memories orange paper as the die cut cones that was perfect for the title.

I thought it was a cute idea to have the runners coming out of the woods. This event is call the Stone Steps Ultra Marathon because it is in a park with lots of stone steps and very wooded. Mt. Airy Forest is the largest park in Cincinnati.

Mizzou Football layout with Sketch N Scrap

Still scrapping my nephew. He has had so many great experiences this year. I haven't gotten around to his cruise but those will be great. Here is a college football game he attended.

Cricut Total Sports Golf Layout

Hello and welcome to the latest Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge all about banners! I used a couple of different kinds of banners on my sporty layout. First I cut a flag style banner for the title and then I cut several straight banners from the Bits and Pieces cartridge.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

I used the Total Sports cartridge for the cart, title and golf club images. I used the default sizing. I do not know where I got this double sided green card stock but it is lighter on one side. I have found it endlessly beneficial when creating subtle shadow images.

I put a bits and pieces banner behind the title banner for a little extra definition.

The golf clubs were super cute and fun to piece together. I cut the banners at 5"-6" but ended up cutting them shorter since they were tucked behind a photo. I found this perfect printed paper in a Creative Memories Sports stack. It added the perfect pop.

Hockey layout using Rochelle Spears sketch

Good morning dear readers. I have another adorable layout of my nephew.

Here's the sketch I used from Rochelle Spears blog:

Her twist was to use "snowflake" paper. I hope my printed acetate counts as paper. I thought it worked very well for the hokey game layout.

I didn't have many hockey embellishments, but I did find these old rubons. I am not very fond of rubons and did of course destroy some in the process. I do like how I used the rubons for a hockey puck border.

St. Louis Blues with Stick it Down sketch

Hi, I really worked hard last weekend and this is one of the layouts I completed. I used lots of circle cutters to create this sporty layout. A tip to keeping the multiple circles in check, I created a title circle using the same background papers to keep somewhat clean edges.

I am most proud of my duplication of the St. Louis Blues logo. I cut a few on my Cricut for two layout.s I highlighted the rubons by mounting them on white circles.

Graphic 45 Masculine Card set

I am participating in a masculine card swap and thought this sketch would make an interesting card with patterned papers. And what could be more masculine than these Graphic 45 A Proper Gentleman collection. Here's the sketch from the Watercooler Wednesday challenge blog.

On this card I added a few extra embellishments since the graphic was small.

The rest I wanted to keep flat so I could mail them to my swap partners with a regular stamp.

Quick Quotes Finish Line layout with Powderpuff Chalking Inks

Good morning Quick Quotes readers! Alicia posting today with an athletic layout featuring Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks and stencils. I had so much fun using stencils and powderpuff chalking inks on my cards for this month's challenge, I thought I would move to a larger project.

begin with a 12x12 white piece of card stock
tape down the stencil securely
begin with the lightest color and go darker
outline some stenciled images for neater lines

By outlining the edges of the stenciled arrow I really sharpened the look. I added all kinds of punched arrows and arrow brads all pointing toward the finish line!
