and they danced by the light of the moon...galaxy background with Cheery Lynn moon die

Hello and welcome to October  I have been trying to use up scraps and bits on my desk.  I had this die cut this Cheery Lynn moon a while ago and I had this galaxy background in my backgrounds stack..  I did add an extra layer of gold shimmer spray to match the die cut moon particularly for this card. It's not as visible in the photo as in real life..

I die cut the galaxy background and layered on top of black glossy card stock after stamping and embossing the sentiment in gold.

Ingredients:
Cheery Lynn Designs Hippie Heroine moon die
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks including black soot, squeezed lemonade and wilted violet
Tattered Angels and other shimmer mists
Our Daily Bread Designs double stitched rectangles (largest)
black glossy card stock and fine glitter paper
Rubber Cottage - Danced By sentiment
Colorbox gold ink and gold embossing powder

Quick Quotes, Spellbinders, Our Daily Bread Designs and an Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch.  I found the most beautiful Quick Quotes paper from my time on their design team.  I found it perfect for a Thanksgiving week thank you card.

Here's the sketch:

Our Daily Bread Designs double stitched rectangles make the perfect stitched frames.  The sentiment is a Spellbinders die as are the leaves.  This card came together pretty quickly by using nesting dies and a coordinating paper collection.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes Autumn Blessing paper
Our Daily Bread Designs double stitched rectangles
Spellbinders leaves from Foliage and various sets
Spellbinders phrase set two

Thank you card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the latest sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I took this opportunity to use up some scraps.  I always save these frames created with the Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Rectangle dies.  They were perfect for the nesting style sketch.

Here's the sketch:

A close up of my flowers.  I can't remember if these were Recollections or Prima they were a large mix in a clear plastic container.  I loved the mix of soft colors and patterns.  I found some fancy brads in the same color palette for the final touch on each flower.

Here is my stash of extra die cuts.  These frames get collected because they are the negatives and I needed a place to keep them in good condition.

I often cut a piece only to decide on another color or pattern later, so the extras pile up.

I try to keep circles, ovals and various shapes together.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes papers
Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Rectangle dies
A Muse Thank you Mix stamp
Stampin Up Chocolate Chip ink

Judikins Mica Gloss background thank you card

Hello and thank you for stopping by my blog.  Today I am using some pieces from my stash.  I had this background using Judikins Mica Gloss which I die cut and layered with some other pieces and parts from my stash.  Sometimes I cut pieces I don't end up using.  I have a pocket of circles, one with ovals, rectangles, etc.  I try to use these pieces whenever I think of it.  The stamped sentiment is also from my "made but didn't use" bin.  The image is a print that I fussy cut.  I inked all the edges.

I simply added a few drops of each color of mica gloss and smooshed together.  This one is the last lift of ink off the original press.

Ingredients:
Judikins Mica Gloss:  Green, Peacock and Old Gold
Frantic Stamper rounded corner rectangle die
Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Circle die
The Paper Company Thank you value pack stamp (at least 10 years old)
Distress Ink Fossilized Amber
printed image
misc card stock

Stampin Up A Little Hello with Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge

It's time again for Team B inspiration at  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I was intrigued by the bird in the sketch.  I don't use nearly enough bird images so I found this Stampin Up image with a bird in a cage.  In fact, I pulled a lot from my Stampin Up stash.  I used inks, stamps, punches and an embossing folder from Stampin Up.

Here is the sketch

A close up of the pierced cloud embossing and stamped images.  The papers I used, however, are not Stampin Up but a couple of 6x6 Graphic 45 pads.

Ingredients:
Graphic 45 Cafe Parisian and Birthday 6x6 stacks
Stampin Up Badges and Banners stamps (2017), badge and banner duo punch, cloud embossing folder and Pool Party and Marigold Morning inks
Our Daily Bread Designs Pierced Circle die
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink

Fancy Pants Rusted Sun with Sketch N Scrap

I have been hoarding this Fancy Pants Rusted Sun collection for many years.  I found the perfect photos for a few sheets.  I also tried to use up as many coordinating embellishments as possible.  I found some great Bazzill card stock that matched pretty well, it is hard to see in the photo but it is an embossed dot.  The red strips are all scraps that were already cut into banners.

Here's the sketch I used:

I wanted something made of paper for my embellishments.  I chose these motif dies from Spellbinders as they remind me of suns or flowers. I layered a stitched circle die of the green card stock inside for more dimension then I added a Rusted Sun brad to the large one and gems to the smaller cuts.

Ingredients:
Fancy Pants Rusted Sun collection (papers, stickers, ribbons, brads)
Creative Memories sticker letters small and large
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink Mocha Moma
Bazzill card stock
Spellbinders Persian Motif dies
Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Circles
Recollections gems

Cricut Rockin' Good Birthday card

I am not sure one could receive a more personalized card. I created this birthday card for a friend of mine.  He's obviously the drummer for the band Smoke Healer.  I even flipped the image in CDS since he is a left handed drummer.  I used a deep purple paper for the drums close to the color of his kit but it is so dark it is hard to distinguish.

I also used an actual photo of his drum with the logo.  I put the drum set on pop dots and layered on some super cool background paper. I stamped the sentiment and puched it out.

Ingredients:
Cricut Indie Days-drum image
Our Daily Bread Designs Rock Star sentiment
Stampin Up punch and Black ink
Marah Johnson paper
metallic, shimmer and other card stocks

Creative Memories and Retro Rubber Challenge sketch

And for my second entry in the Retro Rubber Challenge this week.  Another pack in the stack on my desk...this time it was a card kit from a swap group received years ago.  The paper that was in the kit was not exactly what I saw with the waves so I pulled out this ancient wave paper from Creative Memories.

To complete the card I followed these steps:
  • Cut the background paper to 4 1/8"x5 3/8"
  • Stamp sentiment on white card stock
  • Die cut sentiment
  • Stamp images on embellishments
  • Ink all edges
  • Layer die cuts adhere to background paper
  • Add washi tape at bottom edge of die cuts
  • Add stamped embellishments on top of washi
  • Add sentiment

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Wave paper
Our Daily Bread Designs Count the Waves sentiment (over 3 years old)
Prima Seashore Mini-2 sets (several years old)
Stampin Up Midnight Muse and Tempting Turquoise inks
Quickutz Nesting Lace Rectangles
Quick Quotes Blue Moon Powderpuff Chalking ink
wave die cuts from my stash
washi tape and embellishments

Graphic 45 Raining Cats & Dogs with Atlantic Hearts Sketch

It's time for a new sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge.    This one was such a fun one!  I found the perfect papers and dies for this sketch.  The umbrella die I used has a couple of different decorative options and I tried a each on the different cards.

Here's the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge.

All the patterned paper is from the Graphic 45 Raining Cats & Dogs collection.  I used a Spellbinders nesting die to frame the stamped sentiment and the next larger size for the layer.  I used black washi tape for my stripes.

This umbrella insert was an embossed filigree I inked to highlight the dimension.

I created an entire set since this was such a great sketch and I love the variety of rainy sentiments from Happy Little Stampers. I won a challenge one month and used my winning gift certificate on this awesome set.

Ingredients:
Graphic 45 Raining Cats & Dogs papers
Our Daily Bread Designs Umbrella die
Happy Little Stampers Rainy Days sentiment
Colorbox Black pigment ink
Spellbinders Labels Twenty two
washi tape
various papers

Sketch N Scrap Aloha Card

Hello, today I have a summery card inspired by a couple of challenges.  I was really groovin on the Give the Crafter a Cookie inspiration.  I stamped and die cut a dozen fruits.  I made three of these pineapples which worked perfect for the Sketch N Scrap card sketch.

Here is a close up of my pineapples.  I used a single die but did two cuts one fully yellow and one partial green.  I trimmed the extra off to fit on the yellow pineapple.  I inked the die cuts to provide even more dimension.

I used an ink pen to create the dotted line along either side of the yellow dotted blue paper.

Ingredients:
Fancy Pants Wave Searcher 6x6 papers
Sizzix Jen Long Phrases Happy & Pineapple
Stamplorations Aloha stamp
Distress ink Peeled Paint
Our Daily Bread Designs stitched rectangle die
Quick Quotes Banana Bliss Powderpuff chalking ink
misc card stock
pen
