Just Because: Pleated fold card with Quick Quotes Mulberry papers

Good morning Quick Quotes readersAlicia here today with a special fold.  I enjoy being challenged by trying a new fold.  I was a little intimidated but it really wasn't that hard.  Whenever I try a new technique I first use a piece of white card stock because it usually takes once to figure it out correctly.

Instructions for the full pleated fold:
  1. For a full pleated front begin with a piece  measuring 3" x 11"
  2. Score at 1.5" next 2" then 3" alternating half inch then inch scores until the 9.5" score, leaving a 1.5" length at the end
  3. Mark the half way point (1.5") on the short side
  4. Cut at a diagonal from that mark to the 5" mark turn the paper and cut the same diagonal on the other corner
  5. These two cuts should leave an inch in the center with no cut
  6. Alternate folds and crease with a bone folder and ink all edges
  7. Adhere the folds in place
  8. Adhere the pleated panel on your card
  9. Cover the top of the panel with another piece of paper, die cut or ribbon

Here's another version.  Quick Quotes' double sided patterned papers lend themselves so well to creating a lovely peekaboo and coordinating panels.

I was inspired to create a wood grain rabbit.  I complimented it with all sorts of embellishments and die cuts.  I also added my own pearls around the edge of the filigree die cut.

I used a wood grain paper for the rabbit and ran the white card stock through the Big Shot with a wood grain embossing folder.  The wood paper is the latest collection from Quick Quotes called Windsong.

Ingredients:
Tim Holtz mini bunny die and frame die (both movers and shapers)
Art-C ephemera kit

Delight in the little things

Good morning!  I have today a sweet little card. I was stuck for several days with what to add then my friend. Theresa suggested sequins.  She didn't know I had these extra large flower ones, which were perfect!!!  The regular sequins are from a Close to My Heart pack but the colors were very, very close.  Thanks so much Theresa for helping finish this card.

I am also entering this in several challenges that involve "something new"...the "new" is the Anna Griffin cart.  Although it came with my Cricut E2 from HSN, I have never used this cart.  I received a very pretty card in a swap that used this cart.  Upon discovering that I owned it, I tried out several projects.

Ingredients:
Cricut cart: Anna's Garden Cards and Embellishments
Quick Quotes  Chalking ink:  Light Moss
Close to My Heart sequins
misc flower sequins
Want 2 Scrap green pearls

Happy New Year with Quick Quotes

Good morning, Alicia here today.  We at Quick Quotes hope you had a Merry Christmas! Now onto thinking about the next holiday...can you believe it will be 2017 next week?  Where has this year gone?  I am welcoming the new year with a little bit of a fancy card.  We all need some sparkle in our lives!

I used one of my favorite techniques with the Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks and that is to highlight embossed surfaces.  I also used another favorite and that is simply to color the white paper with ink.  I wanted the cork to be, well, cork colored. So I made the cut in white and dabbed the ink over the entire cut.  I also inked the "label" slightly with the same color to give it a vintage look.

I chalked all the edges of my cuts with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks.  It really helps to soften the edges of manual and electronic die cuts.  I added Want 2 Scrap bling to the lattice created by the embossing folder for a festive look.  The Want 2 Scrap Mother of Pearl rhinestones blended perfectly with Earth Wind Fire 105 paper.

Quick Quotes products used:

other products:
Cricut cuts:  Creative Memories Divine Wedding and Quarter Note font
Wink of Stella pens:  clear and silver
Sizzix embossing folder
white cardstock

Quick Quotes and Want 2 Scrap Blog Hop: Best Day Ever Mini Album

Good morning Quick Quotes readers, Alicia here today, sharing a sweet mini album.  I used the Want 2 Scrap Chipboard Album and the Quick Quotes Winter Bliss collection to create a one of a kind gift. Highlights of the album include the Best day ever chipboard quote that I inked up with Baja Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink and a die cut flower I made for the front.  I used tons of ribbon scraps around the rings and added lots of Want 2 Scrap bling and shiny things to dress it up.

To create the basic album I completed the following steps for each chipboard page:
  1. Ink edges of chipboard
  2. Cut paper to fit chipboard pieces
  3. Adhere paper to chipboard
  4. Sand all the edges
  5. Punch holes through paper layer
  6. Re-ink edges

Here are all the pages of the album.  I added plenty of pockets for memorabilia.  I punched several tags from various Quick Quotes Winter Bliss  papers, added ribbons and tucked them inside the pockets.  I also inked another chipboard title, Believe in yourself chipboard quote this time with Fuchsia PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I think this will be the perfect gift for one of my four nieces.
