Simple Stories Simple Vintage Garden District for Sketches in Thyme

Good Morning! I am here today with my page inspired by Sketches in Thyme #542 by the sketch designer Brenda Ragsdale. I know lots of folks are shopping today but I am hoping to craft all day!
My inspiration uses a Simple Stories kit I won earlier this year. It is Simple Vintage Garden District. I used papers and embellishments from the kit as well as adding a few sequins and bling from my stash. The photos are of my friends at a very nice dinner in Jamaica.

Here is the sketch.

We will be going back to the same restaurant next year.  It was delicious and the cliffside view is amazing.

Ingredients:
Simple Stories Scrapbook kit: Simple Vintage Garden District
Creative Memories circle cutter
Close to my Heart sequins
additional bling

I hope you join us and play along with the Sketches in Thyme!
The prize this month is a $10 Gift Certificate to A Cherry on Top AND the chance to be a GUEST DESIGNER for the month of January 2023!
We look forward to seeing YOUR take on the sketch. The deadline to submit your layout is November 30th, 2022 @ Noon EST.

Amazing Alcohol Ink Card

Welcome to my blog today. It's going to be an amazing day!  How can it not be with so many days off to craft! I was so pleased with this alcohol ink background. I wanted to show as much of this gorgeous background as possible. I framed the card with the largest die from the Divinity Designs Double Stitched Rectangles set. I cut the bold sentiment from metallic silver paper using Stamplorations Amazing cutploration die.

While creating the background I smooshed scrap foil on the still drying ink layered on black gloss card stock.  The foil sticks to the still wet puddles where the colors meet.  It is even more striking in person.

Ingredients:
Divinity Designs Double Stitched Rectangles
black glossy paper
Stamplorations Cutplorations Amazing die
Metallic silver paper

Graphic 45 with Stampin Up A Corny Thank You and Atlantic Hearts Sketch

Hello and welcome today.  I have my latest design team inspiration for Atlantic Hearts Sketch #500.  I have used two of my favorite brands, Graphic 45 and Stampin' Up. I used G45 Fashion Forward November paper.  I picked up a bulk pack at Tuesday Morning earlier this year.  I have a couple of other months but not all of them. Once I scored those I had to have some coordinating papers, I found the G45 Fashion Forward Pattern Paper pack to assist in stretching out my collection. I dug in my stash for some coordinating card stock for the center section.

Here is the sketch.  I am sure you could reimagine it as a different size card if you are not fond of slimline.

I always have a lot of fun stamping multiple pieces. I used three complimentary Stampin Up inks for the acorn pieces. I die cut some foliage to tuck behind the acorns.

The pattern is a bit busy.  I feel like I did a good job at pulling the various colors from it for all the other elements. The sentiment was cut from reverse side of the floral pattern.

One last look at the complete card.

Ingredients:
Graphic 45 Fashion Forward November  and pattern papers
Stampin Up Acorny Thank You stamps and Acorn Punch
Stampin Up Tangelo Twist, Berry Burst and Gumball Green
Spellbinders Foliage dies
card stock from my stash

Stampin Up Give Thanks for all Things with Atlantic Hearts Sketch

Hello and welcome to November. It is now time to turn our attention from the festivities of Halloween to giving thanks for our blessings.  I have created a thankful card with the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This seemingly simple design involved a lot of die cutting.  The stripe in the middle is my first attempt at a Tim Holtz colorized die.

Here's the sketch.

Here is a close up of the sentiment.  I stamped and embossed then die cut on a Spellbinders oval and found the coordinating lacey oval die to frame it.

Details of my colorized die cuts..

So many tiny layers but in the end I feel they are designed to make as few pieces as possible to get exquisite detail.

A quick final note.  I woke up early this morning and went to watch some of the eclipse.  I meditated on the state of our country and I sent blessings to all for the best possible outcome for our democracy today.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up For All Things sentiment stamp
Colorbox Mix'd Media Leather pigment ink
Hampton Art Clear Embossing Powder
Spellbinders Decorative Elements Dies Lacey Ovals and Ovals
Tim Holtz Sizzix Woodgrain Colorize
paper from stash
