Kindred Stamps Motel Family and TV Time die for Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Hello, it's time again for an Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This week I have used some new products.  I mentioned before Kindred Stamps are my latest obsession.

Here's the sketch:

A close up of my coloring.  I added a layer of acetate to the front of the screen.  I used inlaid die cutting for the knobs and simply added a layer of gold behind the three bars.  So, technically that could have been a different color but I felt like my TV was already pretty dark.

Here are some of the alcohol markers I used in this coloring session.

Ingredients:
We R Summerwashed 6x6 paper stack
Alcohol markers
acetate and misc card stock

Cricut Bunny Mandala

Good day, welcome to the latest challenge from Bitten By the Bug 2 - Easter or Bunnies challenge.  I searched Cricut Access and found this lovely bunny mandala.  I stayed monochromatic with purples.

I tried to cut a velvet layer but had a bit of trouble. I ended up scrapping that cut and using another lavender.  I should have chosen a bit more different shade as two of them are very close.

The other papers I chose cut great.  I had to punch out a few random pieces but everything was cut clean.

You can see the depth of the layers in the final side shot.

Kindred Stamps Gal Pal Bookmark ~ Damn, You're Good

Hello and welcome to my latest Kindred Stamps project.  This is for their March FB Fan Club challenge - make a bookmark.

I started with kraft paper board and a very old piece of tissue paper.  The tissue paper wasn't large enough to cover the entire book mark which I cut to 2.75"x 6".  I ripped it into the three pieces.  I covered the bookmark with Black Soot Distress ink then applied the tissue paper with liquid glue on the bottom and top.

I colored this gal pal with an emphasis on heavy make up.  I layered her on a red velvet die cut shape to pop on the leopard pattern. I used pigment ink to emboss the sentiment I randomly stamped on the bookmark.

I used the same Spellbinders die shape in a larger size to create a shaped top to the bookmark.  I finished off the bookmark with fiber reminisce of a feather boa and ric rack.

Ingredients:
Kraft paper board
Kindred Stamps Gal Pals stamp set
Momento Tuxedo Black ink
Colorbox Black pigment ink
Judikins Rockin Red embossing powder
Spellbinders label four dies
Ranger Distress Black Soot ink
tissue paper
red velvet paper
fiber and ric rack
misc alcohol markers
glue, red line tape, and tape runner

Kindred Stamps Magic is Everywhere

I am celebrating the full moon today with a card using my new die from Kindred Stamps.  Well that is how I started this card.  I also picked the Kindred Stamps sentiment but I wanted a full moon rising up behind the standing stones.  I found that in my stash from Altenew.

I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and blended Black Soot and Hickory Smoke to complete the background.  I added the die cut stones and stamped and die cut moon.

I made two versions.  The one above is black where as this one is more grey.  I finished off the card with Wink of Stella stars.

I stamped and embossed the moon then die cut.

Ingredients:
Kindred Stamps Weirdos sentiment
Altenew To the Moon stamp and die set
Distress Oxide Black Soot and Hickory Smoke
Colorbox Black pigment ink
Judikins Black Detail embossing powder
misc papers and card stock
Wink of Stella

Fancy Pants Wishmas with Sketches in Thyme

Welcome to the last sketch of the month for Sketches in Thyme.  I have used my favorite subject matter as usual, my nephew.  This photo is a few years old but I haven't got around to scrapping it yet.  I used some new papers I won back in December from Scrap with Stacey.  I thought they were perfect for this photo and the sketch.

Here is the sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

The banner included in the embellishment pack worked perfect for the banner in the sketch.

Drew is just the cutest!

I used more pieces from the embellishments pack for journal strips.

The collection came with matching enamel dots which I sprinkled around.

Ingredients:
Fancy Pants Wishmas Collection including papers and embellishments
black ink

Don't forget to play along with Sketches in Thyme until the end of the month.

You're a Peach with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Good morning, it's my week to inspire over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I made a cut on my Cricut for the focal point.

Here is the sketch.  I am not big on bows hence my Cricut cut.  Since my sentiment is part of my cut I added some enamel dots in place of the sentiment.

Here's a close up of my cut.  I used the same grey brown card stock for the mat and the "ribbon" for a cohesive look.

Ingredients:
Cricut Thoughts & Phrases image
Creative Memories card stock
enamel dots
plaid paper from my stash

Boho Graphics Peace Guitar for Cricut Music/Dance challenge

Hi and welcome to the latest Bitten By the Bug 2's Music or Dance challenge.  I created a few round cards for the occasion. I used the round base from another Cricut card as the base for the right and left handed peace guitar cuts.  I just had to add them to beautiful tie dye paper.

I stamped the sentiment on the die cut circle inside mat.

Here is the second card on both cards I die cut a thin circle border using the inner circle for the sentiment inside.  Waste not want not right?

I used different complimentary colors of blue.

This is the original card from 3 Birds image set.  I also added the thin die cut circle behind the Cricut cut.  I cut the center out so the notes would remain black.

I used the negatives of the music notes and inner cut circle from the mat on the inside of the card.

Ingredients:
Boho Graphic Iron On and 3 Birds Life's a Party
Jillian Vance Music Speaks Sentiment stamp
Our Daily Bread Designs pierced circle dies
Spellbinders Circle dies
Recollections and DCWV tie dye papers

Karen Burniston Fancy Label Accordion card for Dies R Us

Hello there, today I used the Karen Burniston Fancy Label Accordion die set to create a fun 3-D card.  I used several Karen Burniston die sets to make this outdoorsy make.  I think this will really make someone's day and hopefully will be displayed.

I used the same coordinating blue card stock for the sentiments throughout to create a flow.

Here's a close up of just the front panel.  The trees are actually from the Karen Burniston Long Nature Edges.  The trees in that set are a bit smaller than the Karen Burniston Outdoor Scene trees with the birds, clouds and deer border that I also used on this project.

The second panel has the cute little bear from Karen Burniston Winter Animals.  I just cut him in brown instead of white.  I added the stick, hat and fish from
Karen Burniston Camping Charms.

I colored the fish with alcohol markers. I simply cut a piece of the blue paper against the bottom edge of the pivot label for the water.

I learned something creating this card.  Well, perhaps I just should have thought it through more thoroughly the first time.  But I will impart the wisdom I learned from this project.  I wanted the tree line to fit the pivoted label so I placed the cut on the label die and ran it through my machine.  It's obvious from this photo, I ruined the rest of the cut as it got chopped up by the rest of the die.

Second time around, I cut the border strip to fit the label panel.  I also used both the top and bottom cutting two at once! Better cuts and time saver.  I hope this helps you in a future project.
