Hermione Granger Wanderful Day card

I was commission to create a Hermione card with my super cool dies and stamps I have collected.  I spent some time coloring Hermione  and stamped and embossed her face after most of the coloring.  I inked all the edges, distressed most and inked them again for a very Potteresque feel.

I scored this Harry Potter stationary at the thrift store.  I used it and the Hogwart's uniform for a color palette.  I stamped and embossed the Hogwart's flag.  Dobby was stamped using Distress ink on a thin medium, almost like glassine.  I am not sure when or where it came from it was just in my off white/ivory stash.  I think it turned out pretty cool.

I stamped the sentiment on a die cut inside the card.  I used a larger card base from a bulk Recollections pack.  The sentiment from Scrappy Moms is perfect!

Ingredients:
Character World Harry Potter Hermione Granger dies and Harry Potter Icon Stamps

Colorbox Black pigment ink
Wow Clear embossing powder
Distress Stormy Sky ink

Cricut Easter Challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2

Good day friends.  Today I have a couple of different bunny cards for the Bitten By the Bug 2 Easter challenge starting today.  I love playing with bunnies because you know how quickly they multiply?  This is a forewarning, you may see more bunny cards on my blog soon.

For now I have this simple but elegant card made with the Simple Holiday Cards cartridge.  The metallic pink paper is some of which I purchased a 25 count pack many moons ago.  It is from DCWV and white on the reverse, perfect for a Cricut card, you just have to be sure not to cut on the corner with the UPC...believe me I learn from my mistakes.

To dress up this card I added some pearls to the flourishes.  I also added a twine boy on my bunny's neck.  I liked how the printed paper worked so well with the textured metallic card stock, it turned out elegant. I also used the scrap pieces to line the envelope for the final touch.

This card uses Simple Holiday Cards
DCWV card stock
Little Yellow Bicycle Vintage Summer 6x6 paper
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink
pearls and twine

I used the same metallic card stock for this card.  Pairing it with purple gives it an entirely different look.  My Cricut Explore Air did not want to place both of these cards on the same mat.  I simply moved the second card on the second mat to the far rights and ran the mat through for the next cut.  Therefore, getting full use of the 12x12 paper and that pesky UPC is on the back of this bunny which was cut using the Folk Art cart.

I added a few pearls to this card and used some manual die cuts for matting. The card is cut from Close to My Heart Artfully Sent.

I did line the back of the sentiment with the same light pink paper as the bunny's bow.    I didn't embellish this one too much on the inside a simple teardrop pearl on the bow.

This card uses Close to My Heart Artfully Sent and Folk Art.

Creative Imaginations and Whimsical Words for Creativ Fusion

Good morning.  This card was created with this month's Creativ Fusions' Spring challenge in mind.  I had a lot of fun with this old 6x6 stack and matching embellishments from Creative Imaginations.

This month's Creativ Fusion's challenge is Spring.  The twist is to use one item from each row on the grid below.  I chose to use Butterfly, Script and Oval.

RIBBON or LACE
YELLOW
BUTTERFLY
DAFFODIL
SCRIPT
GREEN
OVAL
BUNNY
GLITTER

Although it looks like the large butterfly is an embellishment it is not.  It is part of the printed paper.  The other butterflies and heart are embellishments.  I roughed up the edges of the background paper and the heart.  I inked all the edges with Quick Quotes chalk to add to the shabby chic feel.

I stamped the sentiment with Distress Oxide ink in Hickory Smoke and mounted and layered in on stitched oval die cuts.  I cut a piece from a pearl flourish to tie the embellishments together.

Ingredients:
Creative Imaginations Beautiful You 6x6 paper and embellishments
Stampin Up Whimsical Words
Distress Oxide Ink Hickory Smoke
Tutti Stitched Nesting Ovals
Want 2 Scrap pearl flourish
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink in Cool Gray
brads and pearl topped pin

Spring is A Buzz! Happy Spring Equinox!

Happy Spring Equinox!  I have created a shaped card using my Cricut Explore Air.  I experimented with some vellum on this one.  I am not exactly how the vellum honeycombs turned out but the vellum envelope is great.  It's so nice to glimpse the lovely card inside.  I also used vellum for the wings which also didn't turn out as planned.  I will try this card again some time with different materials.

Stampin Up Ahoy! with Quick Quotes Anchors Aweigh and Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge inspiration.  I have a nautical themed card for you today.  I had so many thoughts about this sketch but it had been a while since I pulled out my nautical embellishments.  I recently acquired these wood pieces and took them out of the package to put them in my scraprack.  I can't be sure of the brand, but I did purchase them at Tuesday Morning.  I inked the edges to blend with the navy in the card.

Here is this week's sketch:

Here is a close up of my rectangles.  I die cut both small and large sets of Spellbinders Label 59 to frame the various nautical stamps and embellishments.

I used Quick Quotes papers mostly from Anchors Aweigh and inked all the edges with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks in Navy.

Tim Holtz, Crafter's Companion and Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to today's inspiration for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I saw the "window" image and ran with the whole window theme.  I recently purchased this Tim Holtz Window die and matching pediment die and have been wanting to use it.  I found the Crafter's Companion curtains to decorate the inside.  I stamped on top of a navy dot paper with navy ink.  Next I cut with the matching die.  Perfect!

Here's this week's sketch:

For the life of me, I can't find this quote stamp in my stash now, so I can't say where it is from...if you know leave me a comment below.  I layered die cuts to make it stand out.

Cute N Crafty Guest Designer using Millie from PolkaDoodles

Hello, today I am guest designing at Cute N Crafty blog.  I was a provided an image of Millie from PolkaDoodles with which to play.  I swear I colored this image a total of seven times!  I printed it on two different types of paper.  I used Stampin Up Watercolor pencils for this one but I tried alcohol markers as well.

Here is a closer look.  I cut the printed paper with the same die as the base card, since the print was only 6x6 I had to cut it twice and piece it together.  It was easy to cut at the seam leaving room for a flat fold while covering the entire inside of the card.

I cut the same label die as the image base and mat in a larger size and cut it in half to create the top and bottom coordinating edges.  I inked all edges with Cool Grey Powderpuff chalking ink and finished off the card with some simple paw prints stamps and pearls.

Another view.

Ingredients:
Creative Imaginations Beautiful You 6x6 paper
Stampin Up Watercolor pencils
Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts Magnetic Insert Label, Sassy 3-D pop up with card base
Spellbinders Labels Nineteen
TCP Studios Bad to the Bone clear stamp (paw)
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking ink in Cool Grey
Snoopy's Homemade Fun digital sentiment
Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Circles
grey textured paper
pearls
