 Hello Sunshine!  I just love these cards but I am fond of the f word. I sat down and created a series of these experimenting with various stencils as backgrounds.  I used various colors of Distress inks.

This is my least favorite, I was trying to balance the rays and I feel I did succeed with that element. However, they don't radiate correctly for my eye.

Kindred Stamps Futuristic Family stamps and stencil with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Hello and welcome to my latest project for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I had some new product strewn about my desk and decided to just play a little.  I used a stencil to create the "rays" with my latest Distress Oxide color, Salvaged Patina.  I found the die cut already cut in my stash.  I stamped the sentiment from the same ink.

Kindred Stamps Cursive Curses and Stencils (Warning Foul Language)

WARNING FOUL LANGUAGE
Now that's out of the way, these cards using Kindred Stamps Cursive Curses stamps are fabulously funny.  I have already sold some, some are in a store, Local Studio 325, and I am going to list some in my Etsy Shop.

First I stenciled some plain white cardstock with various stencils and Distress and Distress Oxide inks.

Then I did cut the stenciled background and stamped the sentiments with pigment ink.  

I embossed the sentiments and inked the edges. I adhered the die cut on a coordinating card base.

Finally, I sprinkled enamel dots and bling.

Thing 1 Sketch in Thyme July sketch #4 layout

 Hi there, welcome to my monthly inspiration for Sketches in Thyme.  This month I am back to scrapping my precious nephew.  This photo is a few years old but I finally pulled together the perfect product to highlight the photo.

Here is the sketch:

I created the background with a stencil and a couple of colors of distress ink.  I also used the stencil with a pen to create some extra flourishes.

The highlight is my Out of the bag stamped characters from Kindred Stamps. I colored them with alcohol markers.  I added glassy glaze to the glass fishbowl. 

I used several dies in my cluster.  Along with some paper flowers with gem centers.  I sprinkled some red pearls and crystal gems around the layout.

Kindred Stamps You're Dope 4:20 card

Finnabair Trust the Magic with Dies R Us

Hello, I used several techniques to create this magical card.  I used a new stamp offering from the store, Finnabair Trust the Magic. First, I used Distress Oxide ink and a stencil to create a subtle background.  Then I stamped the image with black pigment ink and embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder-Bridal Tinsel.  I know you expect that powder to create a subtle sparkle and it's there but when you use black ink to begin the effect is a bit different.

 

Here's a side view where you can see the embossing from a another angle.  It's still hard a little hard to see the iridescent sparkle.

After the background was created, I die cut the frame and embellishments.  I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Dotted Scallop Squares to make a frame.  I was left with a beautiful scalloped square that I will use on another project.  I cut the Sue Wilson Industrial Chic Swirl just once in gold. I cut that one piece into several parts and adhered to the back of the frame which I popped up on dots to create dimension on my card.  This photo actually shows a bit of the iridescent embossing.

Memory Box Mini Gears is just one die which makes it easy to cut a lot.  I used it twice once in gold and once in pewter to compliment the inking.  I sprinkled those gears around the card.  I used a couple of different gems and stickers to fill in some of the centers of the gears.

One last look at my stamped image.  I also used the stamp set on some purple paper scraps and tore the edges.  After I inked the edges, I tucked those pieces into the corners that did not have as many die cuts.

Creative Memories Sports Finish Strong for Bitten By the Bug 2

Welcome to the latest challenge from Bitten By the Bug 2.  Our challenge this time around is sports.  I created a layout of a half marathon my son ran last year.  He finished first in his age division. I must say I did not take any of these photos.  I borrowed them from the internet.  They were featured on the race website and the local news.

I used the negative cut from page 2 as a stencil for page 1.  I simply sponged some distress ink and held in place with my hand.  I was NOT that concerned with precision.  

I manipulated the layout of the title.  It was a square with the shoe as part of the design.  I used the shoe in the lower left.  

I made a duplicate of the title and contoured only the shoe to create a stripe of color in the sole.

The second page was actually the first page I created.   I loved the Finish Strong title available with Cricut Access. 

 I also made a duplicate of this title and contoured the runner.  I cut the second runner out of the background paper in a spot that I knew would be covered by the badge mat.

Tim Holtz Witchy Tag

Hello, I am back with another Distress Oxide tag.  I used the same ink colors as last time and continued to use the texture paste I tinted with Perfect Pearls and Pearl Ex and the bat stencil.  However, after that this tag switched is up with some witches and moon die cut.

 

I splattered with shimmer mist before adding the metallic silver moon die cut and witches.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment.  The die cut picked up some of the embossing around the edges.

I added some metallic fiber, rick rack and sheer ribbons.  It's hard to determine but I sprinkled this tag with some tiny black sequins.

Tim Holtz Toxic Tag

I spent an entire weekend inking up and getting messy on some manila and kraft tags.  This one is my husband's favorite.  I started the projects with a layer of Distress Oxide inks.  I used a couple of purples and black soot to cover the base.  I spritzed with water to create the chalky effect.  I thought it made the perfect spooky background.

The next layer was stenciling with regular Distress ink. I can't remember the brand of the blood and small skull stencils.  I layered some ephemera next.

The next layer was texture paste mixed with Pearl Ex Interference Blue and a large skull stencil.  It didn't color the paste too much.  So for the bats I added some black and platinum to the paste.  Next I sprinkled some black shimmer spray to grunge it up a bit more. Then those eyes!  When I was opening the package my husband saw them and thought they were super cool.  It was his idea to used two different colors.  The package of Tim Holtz eyes don't have any two the same size and same color. There are three sizes in each color.  So if you want pairs by two packs.

I added some black bat die cuts and a silver metallic skull die cut.  The final touch was some ribbon and fibers.  And of course, inking the edges with black ink for a cohesive dark look.
