Karen Burniston Triple Flip and Happy Hours Charms for Dies R Us

Hi there, I tried my hand with the Karen Burniston Triple Flip card using more Karen Burniston die sets to compliment the card.  I used some bold pattern paper to create a "happy" hour kinetic card.  I followed Karen Burniston's Triple Flip assembly video even though I have previously used this die set. I find a refresher of the details are helpful.  The front panel needs to be 5.5" so I used an A2 size card base.

I enjoyed creating the tiny drinks.  I used acetate for the glasses and white card stock inked as the contents.  The little olives are adorable and so easy to make.  Just cut and then use the stencil feature to color in the black with a pen.

And now for the flip...I used cut the word into three equal parts freehand and spread them across the three panels.  I cut simple ovals from the Karen Burniston Memory Charms to really make the sentiment pop off the page.

A closer look of the sentiment.

Here are some of the dies and cuts I made prior to inking.

Thing 1 Sketch in Thyme July sketch #4 layout

Hi there, welcome to my monthly inspiration for Sketches in Thyme.  This month I am back to scrapping my precious nephew.  This photo is a few years old but I finally pulled together the perfect product to highlight the photo.

Here is the sketch:

I created the background with a stencil and a couple of colors of distress ink.  I also used the stencil with a pen to create some extra flourishes.

The highlight is my Out of the bag stamped characters from Kindred Stamps. I colored them with alcohol markers.  I added glassy glaze to the glass fishbowl.

I used several dies in my cluster.  Along with some paper flowers with gem centers.  I sprinkled some red pearls and crystal gems around the layout.

Ingredients:
Stencil
Distress inks in Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire
Kindred Stamps Out of the Bag
alcohol markers and glassy glaze
Spellbinders dies
punch, paper flowers, gems and pearls
Creative Memories blue pen and sticker letters
various papers and card stock

Stampin Up Cauldron Bubble with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  I have my inspiration from the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge;'s sketch.  I had blast playing with the cluster in the sketch.  I did take some liberties but I am very happy with the result.

Here is the sketch:

A close up showing details of my coloring and stamping.

Forgive me, it is a lot to keep track of all the alcohol markers I used.  I did remember to lay them all out for a photo!

I die cut a stitched white circle.  Onto which I stamped and embossed the sentiment.  I used a dye ink for the starry "smoke".  I layered the cauldron, witch, broom and frog in a cluster on the front.  I used pop dots for the cauldron and frog.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Cauldron Bubble stamps and dies
Stampin Up Cucumber Crush ink
Versamark ink

Stampin Up Pick a Banner punch
Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Circles

Cricut Botanical Guitars and tie dye paper for Bitten by the Bug 2's Recycle challenge

Good morning and welcome to the latest Bitten by the Bug 2's challenge:  Recycle.  This could be recycle, upcycle or repurpose.  I used a couple of card bases I acquired from a creative reuse store. Scrap it Up.  I am lucky enough to have two in my city.  I thought I could do something "more" to these cards and these Cricut cuts are perfect.

Here's a close up of the guitar head with flowers from Botanical Guitars.

I have four cards but of all the images I cut, I only like the above cut and the below cut from Quarter Note.  I have made this guitar years ago, I can't remember what colors I made it but I settled on a pearly white and silver for this cut.

Ingredients:
Cricut images from Botanical Guitars and Quarter Note
handmade paper purchased from a Creative Reuse Store
card stock: black shimmer, pearl and metallic silver
black ink

Stampin Up Jar of Haunts with Creative Memories Toil and Trouble with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my inspiration for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge.  I felt Halloween-y this weekend so I pulled out some stamps, old paper and started working.

Here is the sketch:

I cut each strip at 1.25" x5.25".  I inked all the edges and cut the glitter rick rack to fit.

I stamped the jar and eyes on acetate and die cute.  I then used a stencil and some Distress ink to create the smoke in the jar on a piece of white card stock.  I die cut that piece and assembled.

I loved the card so much and it was great way to use up scraps.  I made a few more versions.  This one is using Authentique papers.

I placed the eyes on the jar in a different position on this card.  Which do you like better?  I was using the smoke as a cue for eye placement.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Jar of Haunts and matching dies
Creative Memories Toil and Trouble 6x6 papers
Authentique 6x6 Halloween papers
Distress Ink Hickory Smoke
glitter rick rack
white card stock
Staz On Jet Black ink
Acetate

Close to My Heart Artfully Sent Baby card for Bitten by the Bug 2 and Double Trouble collaboration

Welcome to the latest challenge for Bitten by the Bug 2's Oh Baby challenge.  We are collaborating with Double Trouble using the mood board below.  I made this cute card for the latest addition to our family. I have gotten to hold her yet, but I sent this and a cute set of outfits to tide her over until I can squeeze her little cheeks!

Here is the mood board for inspiration.

I used the Close to my Heart Artfully Sent image set.  This is the front of the card.

I thought the polka dot yellow and green outfits popped on the pink background.

I used a sweet pink fiber on which to "hang" the outfits. I added some sequins to give it a little more detail. I like to adhere them with perfect pearls.

Ingredients:
Close to My Heart Artfully Sent cut
Bo Bunny polka dot papers
fiber, pearl drops and sequins
card stock

Zen Thanks with Elizabeth Craft dies

Hello, today I made a fairly simple card enhanced by themed printed papers and inked cuts.  I began with the  Elizabeth Craft Asian Accessories set.  I knew I wanted the umbrella shade to be cut from a pretty floral paper.  I chose the background paper and cut the rest of my pieces.

I cut the umbrella handle and rocks in white card stock.  I used Distress inks to color them.

I manipulated the embossed lines in the umbrella to create dimension.  I cut the sentiment from coordinating paper.  The resulting card is about as clean and simple as my work gets.  Therefore, it's my zen thank you card.
