Bee Better Soon for Atlantic Hearts Challenge

Happy July! I have a summery get well card today using Atlantic Hearts Challenge Sketch #636.  These photos really don't do the brown hex justice.  It is a lovely paper with tons of gold sparkles inside.  I tried to highlight the gold by layering gold fibers between the curry dotted ribbon.

Here is the sketch.

You can see some of the sparkle from this angle.

This angle really shines!

Ingredients:

So Sweet bee card using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to today's inspiration for the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch.  I love this week's sketch and the vast versatility!  I have been wanting to use this background paper ever since I purchased it as part of a kit.  The kit is really fantastic and I can't wait to use more of it.

Here is the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

When I saw this sketch I wanted to try another shape besides squares and the hex's worked perfectly with the bee theme.  To create this card I used the following steps:

  2. Cut background paper 4.5"x 6.5"
  3. Die cut and emboss four pieces golden Distress card stock with hex dies
  4. Die cut and emboss four pieces black paper with stitched hex dies
  5. Die cut sentiment from golden Distress card stock
  6. Ink edges of all paper with chalking ink
  7. Add bee stickers to center of golden die cut hexes
  8. Add lace ribbon to bottom of printed paper and trim off excess
  9. Add flower with brad in center to ribbon strip
  10. Adhere sentiment below ribbon strip with glue
  11. Layer and adhere hexes to top section of card
  12. Add a writing panel inside

Ingredients:
Recollections card and envelope
Spellbinders Phrases set one
Stitched Hexagon nesting die 7 count
Creative Memories Stickers
Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks
Flower, brad, and lace ribbon
Distress card stock and various papers

Spring is A Buzz! Happy Spring Equinox!

Happy Spring Equinox!  I have created a shaped card using my Cricut Explore Air.  I experimented with some vellum on this one.  I am not exactly how the vellum honeycombs turned out but the vellum envelope is great.  It's so nice to glimpse the lovely card inside.  I also used vellum for the wings which also didn't turn out as planned.  I will try this card again some time with different materials.

All things grow with love...Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to this week's inspiration for the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge.  The next two weeks we are collaborating with Double Trouble challenge.  Their challenge is to use flowers and secondly to add something that goes bzzzzzzz.  I have followed all three challenges with my card below.

Here's the sketch this week:

I started with some American Craft flowers but a couple of layers clashed.  I disassembled them and layered with punched flowers from coordinating Quick Quotes papers.  I also layered a punched flower under the bee brad.  The perfect little buzzzzzz for my flowers.

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes Farmhouse papers and chipboard
Quick Quotes Warm Grey powderpuff chalking inks
Creative Memories Border Maker system
EK Success flower punch
Maggie Holmes Crate Paper Flea Market flowers (altered)
bee brad from my stash (possibly K & Co)
bling

Just beecause...Stampin Up, Graphic 45 and acetate card

Good morning!  I am showing off a card I made for a swap today.  The theme of the swap was acetate.  It is hard to discern from the photos but there is a layer of acetate behind the honeycomb die cut.  I used mostly Stampin Up products but the sunflower paper in the back is Graphic 45.

I cut an opening in the center of a standard A2 card that was just a fraction smaller than the honeycomb die cut.  I cut the acetate just a fraction larger so the die and the card and a layer behind their junction for stablility.  I stamped and embossed the bees then fussy cut them.  I stamped the sentiment and layer the sunflower paper on the inside of the card.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Dragonfly Dreams stamp set
Stampin Up die
Graphic 45 paper
American Craft black ink
Judikins clear embossing powder
Quick Quotes Desert Sun chalking ink
green and yellow card stock
acetate
