Creative Memories Primary Power Palette Back to School layout

Welcome to my blog today. I am continuing to scrap my nephew.  These are his first day back to school pics.  Can he be any cuter?

Here is the sketch I used from this layout.  It's the Throwback sketch from The Scraproom Facebook Group.

Here's a close up.  I used Spellbinders nesting dies one larger and one the next size down to create the brace out of scraps.

I had the perfect title as part of the Elementary school addition to the Primary Power Palette.

One of the criteria for the sketch challenge is to use product at least a year old.  Well, I found this product to date back to 2008.  Way to bash my old stash!

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Primary Power Palette
Creative Memories stickers
Creative Memories circle cutting system

Creative Memories Primary Art layout with Sketch N Scrap November sketch

I have been crafting up a storm in anticipation of my upcoming surgery and subsequent recovery when I won't be able to craft.  Every year I scrap pages of my nephew and neice for my SIL.  I won't get as many done considering I won't be able to craft the month before Xmas but I will be completing as many as possible.

Here is the sketch from Sketch n Scrap that I used.

What a precious memory.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Primary power palette paper and stickers including Elementary school, High school and Zoo packs
Creative Memories sticker letters

Creative Memories Primary Layout with Arrow and Zig Zag Border Maker Cartridges

The week's challenge over at Lasting Memories challenge blog is a Tool Free for All and this layout certainly has it all.  I used the Creative Memories Custom Cutting system, CM circle punch, CM corner rounder and CM border maker. As far as "forgotten" tools, the corner rounder is definitely one that I don't pull out very often, the border maker and punch are also not used very often but I will admit my CM CCS sits pretty near by and does get touched often.  Now that is a great tool system considering I have purchased the base set over 20 years ago!  I have replaced the blades and broke one template over the years.  I would say that was one great investment!

I used this sketch from the Creative Memories World Wide Virtual Crop.

Here is the first page.  The photo is a unique view of the Ryman.  I used all Creative Memories papers and embellishments from the Primary collection.

I used the arrow and the zig zag border cartridge for these layouts.  I also used the negative arrows to embellish the layout.

I created the little "Tennessee" seal from scrap paper and punches.  I was pretty impressed with myself even though it is a simple emblem.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Primary Power Palette including papers, mats, stickers, paper ribbon buckle and paper ribbons
Creative Memories Border Maker Arrow and Zig Zig cartridges
Creative Memories circle punch, corner rounder and oval cutting system
Creative Memories sticker letters
Heidi Swap metal file tab
misc star punch
Quick Quotes Midnight Confessions Powderpuff Chalking ink

Kiwi Lane Designs Basic Sketch with Snorkeling photos and Creative Memories Primary Vacation kit

This is a sample layout I did for Kiwi Lane's Basic Sketch Challenge on Facebook.  The challenge starts today.  Here's the sketch:

Being that this is a tropical layout, I used several templates from Kiwi Lane's Paradise templates.  I also pulled out some old Creative Memories papers and stickers from the Primary Vacation collection.

I created the octopus with the balloon from Tiny Celebrate 2T and Paradise 4.

I free handed the stripes on the fish and added gems for eyes.

I created the letters with my Cricut using the fonts that came loaded on my E2.

I moved the journaling spot from placement in the sketch to the seashell in the corner.

Ingredients:
Kiwi Lane templates:  Paradise 1, 2, 3, 4; Paisley Place 3A, 3B; Celebrate 2T; Tags 1 & 3; Tiny Tags 1, 3, 4, 5
Creative Memories Primary Vacation kit
white card stock
Cricut Explorer 2 built in fonts
gems, QQ denim powder puff

Creative Memories Primary Playground Layout

I chose the old Creative Memories Primary papers because the bright bold colors looked perfect with the bright bold colors of the playground equipment.

I used a tone on one sheet for page two and used some scraps to punch circles and outline them like the print of page one.

Primary Christmas Layout with Creative Memories Border Maker-trees

Close up of the tree border made with the Creative Memories Border Maker system.  I layered with white behind to make the trees "pop".

I used a partial sheet of Primary red tone on tone paper to create a wavy section to mimic the design on page two.  I tucked the border along the bottom into the side border on page one.  Again, this was a very quick simple layout but not "plain" just easy.

Creative Memories Twinkle Chain Border and Primary Winter

This is a very simple layout using Creative Memories Primary Winter Additions and the Twinkle Border maker cartridge.  It did take a extra few minutes to use the "punchie" resulting from the border.  They are so delicate they require the CM precision glue pen but they just add so much.  I was really trying to finish my last few pages in less than 10 minutes.  This one was successful!  Simple but quick using only white cardstock and the CM addition.

This is the opposite page although not a "two page" layout, I used Primary Christmas Addition to compliment the bold bright colors.  A good white pen is really hard to find.  I had to trace over my lines several times and it is still not as sharp as I would like.

Creative Memories Primary Zoo Addition

I used the Primary Zoo Addition from a while ago.  It was perfect for the primary colors of the playground slide.  I thought it was a cute touch to fence in the animals with the rusic fence cartridge from the border maker system.
