It's 2022, Let's Rock!  I am always in need of a good music card. This week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge was perfect.  I have several stacks of this DCWV Glam Rock paper but this sketch was perfect for all my scraps.  I just fussy cut the tag and snipped some strips.

Here's the sketch from  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

I did add the perfect die cut sentiment from Frantic Stamper.

Another view of the "set list" tag.

Karen Burniston Tiny Gnomes - Happy Birthday Mom

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  It is the birthday of the most special woman in the world to me...my mother.  I am so very fortunate to have her and since trolls are her thing...

I took out my Karen Burniston Tiny Gnome dies for the first time...oh my the rabbit hole I entered.  I have pieces and parts of gnomes in all the colors!  You will see more of these little guys soon.

A close up of the gnomes.  I usually review Karen's assembly videos as I am creating with a new set for the first time.  Here I used her suggestion of inking the hair dies.  I used Tim Holtz Distress markers for the job.

Ingredients:
Karen Burniston Tiny Gnome dies
Basic Grey Sweet Threads 6x6 papers
Tutti Stitched Nesting Oval die
Frantic Stamper Accessory Words #3:  kissesdie

Altenew Gradiant Stripes Die for Dies R Us

Hello, I have several cards I created with the Altenew Gradient Stripes die.  This die really lends itself to using the negative pieces.  Therefore, it works great in creating many cards in one sitting.  I used pattern paper to make the cards even more interesting.

All of the cards use Quick Quotes double sided designer paper, using double sided papers is another great way to stretch the negatives.  This first card uses the inside of a pattern paper.

This card uses the outside filled with a more solid but still patterned paper.  I used a coordinating solid paper to die cut the sentiment.

This card uses the same paper collection with a different paper.

Another view.  I just love how the inlaid pieces fit perfectly.

Kindred Stamps Rock On - Happy Birthday Freddie

Today I want to celebrate what would have been the 75th birthday of this legend. I actually made this card for a friend and he loved it.  I am super happy about the renewed interest in Freddie thanks to the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody.  That reminds me of the scene from Wayne's World in the car...lol  I really wish I owned that Kindred Stamps set.  If you are about my age I don't need to say anymore, if not here's a video.

I colored my image to match a photo, next time I will change up the clothing colors.

I threw it together pretty quickly but I like how it turned out.

Ingredients:
Close to my Heart Rock On stamp set
DCWV Rockstar paper stack
Stitched Hex dies
Frantic Stamper Stitched Corner Cut tags
misc alcohol markers including Spectrum Noir Pewter
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
silver card stock

Alcohol Ink Background with Silver Foiling for Dies R Us

Hello dear readers. This was my very first attempt with Alcohol inks and yupo paper.  I admit the first time I tried alcohol inks I was not at all impressed with the result.  I also didn't own any yupo paper. I put them away for years.  I recently saw some of the lovely backgrounds, watched a video or two and decided my poor result previously was from not using ALL the appropriate supplies.  So I ordered yupo paper and a few new ink colors.  Needless to say I was much more impressed with the results this time around.

I used a very basic straw technique to move the ink around and didn't dilute them very much resulting in vibrant colors.  I also used scrap foiling on the slightly wet background to create the silver layer in the background. I simply burnished left over pieces over the top. When there is a lot of ink still not completely dried the foil sticks.

I layered my metallic cuts on black card stock cuts to strengthen the them and created a three dimensional effect.  I also cut and emboss to get all the details from the dies.

From the side you can see how the cuts pop on the surface and the beauty of all the silver foil highlights.

I used a Frantic Stamper stitched rectangle die that is no longer available to create my frame.  I linked a very similar Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle that you could use to create this same frame.  I used very strong tape to keep the alcohol ink background panel on the thin framed card.  I wanted to show off as much of the background as possible.

Karen Burniston Unicorn-Be Yourself

Good day.  Today, I created an iridescent unicorn card.   I thought I may send this to my nephew so I wanted to keep it unisex. I thought the snippets of iridescent poster board I had in my stash would make a perfect unicorn.  Of course, I had to throw in some glitter (the mane). I added a metallic blue horn and muzzle.  I stamped and embossed the sentiments in a metallic blue. I layered all that on a stitched rectangle die from cloud paper.

Here is a close up.  I tried to keep the rest of the card simple to not distract from the very unique unicorn.  I added a recent find of iridescent gem accent picks behind the die cut which is popped up on foam for more effect.
