Stampin Up Welcome Baby for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hi and Welcome Baby! I had a couple of baby cards for showers last month.  I found this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge to be perfect to create a few cards.  They are very similar but each has it's unique image.

Here's this week's sketch

Here's the same card with the badge and sentiment in different colors. The panels of printed papers are switched up a little bit and my colored image is different.

I did a third card with the chick images from the Stampin Up Heaven Blessed images.  I like the rabbits better.  I gave both of the above cards to coworkers having boys.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Badges and Banners stamp set from 2016
Stampin Up Best Badge and Duet Banner punches
Stampin Up Heaven Blessed
Stampin Up Not Quite Navy and Rich Razzleberry inks
Distress Hickory Smoke
various alcohol markers
The Paper Studio earth tone 12x12 paper pad

Cricut Country Fair Challenge for Bitten by the Bug 2

Welcome to the latest Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge: Country Fair.  I found this challenge well, challenging but I managed to eek out a couple of cards I feel have a country fair feel.  I found this 7 Gypsies paper that really lent itself to my cuts.

The cow is from Quilted Christmas.  I know right?  An Xmas image?  I find so many great images in this set, I love the intricate cuts that are pretty easy to create.  I layer my cut on a manual die cut oval using My Favorite Things Double Stitched Ovals in a complimentary golden paper.

My second card is a supposed award winning pie from the fair.  How do you like that?  It's blueberry, my hubby thought it should be more blue but I find when you make a pie they turn more purple.  Anyway, the first dark paper cut didn't work, the paper was too thin. So I switched to a thicker paper, the second cut was fine but still quite a puzzle to assemble the blueberries (dark layer).

I used the Sparkly Sweet Treats image set for this one and same 7 Gypsies Spitafields paper.  I also used one of my oldest tools, my original Creative Memories corner rounder.

Karen Burniston Whimsical Animals Pocket Letter for Dies R Us

Hi there, if you are a regular reader, you know I love the Karen Burniston animals. However, I have not played around with dressing them up using the Accessory packs.  I designed a bunch of little animals and dressed them up. I decided a pocket letter was the best way to show them all off.

Here is Professor Owl layered on a Tutti Nesting Stitched Oval.

I created a little scene with the Karen Burniston Backyard Charms flower and snail dies.  I added some fussy cut clouds from the background paper on top of the pocket page.  I like the 3-D look. It also worked to secure some of the openings.

The fox is a super hero flying in the sky.  Helpful tip for this post - cut an extra fox/raccoon head out of white and inlay the ears for a finished look.  You could also layer white paper behind.

Here's another little scene I created with the butterfly, grass and mushroom also from the Karen Burniston Backyard Charms set.

I dressed the raccoon as a football player.  I used scraps of die cut edges for the ground here and fencing on the cow section.

I created a paper cover for the edge out of the same background paper and layered more fussy cut clouds on top.

Cricut Bunny Mandala

Good day, welcome to the latest challenge from Bitten By the Bug 2 - Easter or Bunnies challenge.  I searched Cricut Access and found this lovely bunny mandala.  I stayed monochromatic with purples.

I tried to cut a velvet layer but had a bit of trouble. I ended up scrapping that cut and using another lavender.  I should have chosen a bit more different shade as two of them are very close.

The other papers I chose cut great.  I had to punch out a few random pieces but everything was cut clean.

You can see the depth of the layers in the final side shot.

Bling on the Turkey! Karen Burniston Pop n Swap for Dies R Us

Happy Thanksgiving, Alicia here today.  I don't know about you but this holiday just won't be the same without the large gatherings for food and fellowship.  I hope sending this card will brighten someone's holiday. At first glance it's a nice enough card with a neat cut away but wait for it...

Wow!  the Karen Burniston Pop n Swap die set really packs a punch.  The top turkey is just fine but as he disappears the bottom turkey appears all blinged out with glitter and other specialty papers.

The mechanism works super smooth, however there are a couple of tricks and tips to keep in mind.  The top pop up has a limited field of movement, be sure and test before adhering permanently.  I had to trim the bottom of the top frame.  Always check any movement for catch points before finalizing placement.

I basically followed Karen Burniston's instructional video for this mechanism.  I even rounded the corners of my card.  I found that the best method for my first time working with this die set.  I can't wait to dream up more fun uses for this one!

I used the following products in my card:
Quick Quotes Autumn Blessings designer papers and Powderpuff chalking ink
Inside sentiment-misc fonts cut with a Cricut
misc papers
sequins

and from the store...

Horse Lovin' card

Hello and happy day dear reader.  I have for you today a card I created for my niece.  She is quite the rodeo girl.  She is very earthy with just a touch of bling.  So I paired a glitter cut horse with a kraft doily to fit her personality.

Here is her horse, Gypsy.  I took this at a rodeo back in December 2019.

Another view of the horse.  This glitter paper isn't a basic brown but has flecks of pink and red which is complimented by the red patterned paper.  I added some farm border stickers across the background paper.

Ingredients:
Cricut Access Horse cut
Stampin Up Dragonfly Dreams sentiment (from 2017)
Colorbox Mix'd Media Truffle ink
Judikins Clear embossing powder
Wood heart cut out embellishment
Quick Quotes powderpuff chalking ink
kraft doily
stickers
glitter, card stock and Basic Grey patterned paper
kraft card base

Party This Way! Karen Burniston Tag Pop Up with critters for Dies R Us

Hi there.  It's Alicia and it's been a few years but I have joined the DT again.  I am so excited to bring you my first project!  I created a tag pop up book as a birthday card for my nephew.  I am sure the pop up will be sure to thrill him as I hope it does you.  With the assistance of Karen Burniston assembly videos, these kinetic cards really go together quite easily for a wow factor that wasn't a lot of work.

The real work was in designing all the animals included in his card but they are just so darn cute!  I got carried away making these little guys.  I am sure you will see more Karen Burniston critters from me on future projects.  I own a few sets but not all of them yet!

I had to "fussy" cut the sheriff's badge for the ostrich's hat.  I could not for the life of me find anything that tiny to use.  I am sure there is something in the Dies R Us Store. I will eventually find it!  I added an extra strip of color to the football helmet.  I die cut the center section with a scrap of gold to get that perfect rounded edge.  Then I simple cut the sides to create a strip and adhered. Also of note, I used colored card stock for all the critters but not the cow.  I used white card stock and colored the details with markers.

The most important step is to only place adhesive on the ends of the pop up assembly and adhere to the tag base.  If you get adhesive on any of the pop out portion your card will not work correctly.

As I assembled the project, I continuously checked with each piece that it worked properly.  Stringing the banner was the most delicate part of this process.  Once all the inside pieces were in place, I added the front panel and tied pieces of twine in the holes of the tags.

The following is a list of Dies R Us Store products I used. In addition I used Stampin Up stamps, ink and punch for the sentiments, twine, markers, card stock and Quick Quotes designer papers.
