Sketch N Scrap June 1st Layout Sketch...it's all in the details

Good morning!  Today is a new month and a new sketch reveal at Sketch N Scrap!  I am scrapping a neighborhood tour of homes from Mother's Day 3 years ago.  These are some architectural details from inside a Cincinnati beer baron's home.  I am not originally from Cincinnati but have been here 20 years now.  I really enjoying learning the history of my neighborhood and the city.  I love going on the "underground" tours and often grab them as a Groupon.  This tour however is only every three years on Mother's Day and I missed this year's.  I find old homes and buildings so fascinating.

Here's the new sketch

I used a real hodge podge of materials on this one.  I sprayed the Tim Holtz grungeboard with shimmer sprays then distressed with Quick Quotes Mocha Mama and added metal brads.

The title is from a PIF I received from a Facebook group recently and the tassel was from my cross over work on the Kiwi Lane DT and Mon Ami Gabby.

The newest items are from my candy win over at Jennifer's blog.  She contributed the David Tutera clock and Archetextural piece.  The oldest contribution would have to be the Mrs. Grossman's alpha stickers!  They would have to be about 15 years old!!

Ingredients:
K & Co Wallpaper paper
misc paper
Tim Holtz grungeboard
Architextures round medallions
David Tutera watch pieces
Amber metallic cover stock
asst washi tape
Mrs. Grossman's alpha stickers
Recollections doily
velvet ribbon
7 Gypsies fabric tape
Mon Ami Gabby tassel
Tattered Angels Heirloom gold shimmer spray
Radiant Rain Autumn leaves shimmer spray
misc brads

Don't forget I still have one more challenge open until June 7.  I am sure there are still some other Sketch N Scrap DT members' challenge still open, too.  I will get to picking 3 winners from my blog candy and first challenge as soon as possible.

Altered Fleur de lis letter B

Happy Saturday!  Today I have for you a project I did last week for a partnered letter swap in one of my swap groups on FB.  I belong to several if you would like to join one or more please hit me up on my crafty FB page! So this letter was for my crafty friend Lyne!  She wanted me to use the B for her last name.  She also likes Paris and her craft room is black and white.  So this is what I came up with:

Close up of the letter with flowers and bling.  I assembled the flowers after spritzing them with Heidi Swapp Navy ink.  I used a variety of bling for the centers. The bling Fleur de lis is from The Paper Studio.

Really close up of the flower and this view gives you an idea of the subtle shimmer I added to the black fleur de lis background piece with Radiant Rain Ice spray.

I spritzed the Cricut cuts from French Manor with Tattered Angels Chalkboard spray in Mantis.

I took lots of pictures since I no longer have this item, it is already in Lyne's hands!

Ingredients:
The Paper Studio Chipboard letter & fleur de lis
Cricut cart French Manor
Graphic 45 Le Cirque Wizards of Wonder paper
Recollections Pretty as a Peacock paper

Crystals by Mon Ami Gabbi

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch

Good Morning!  Today I have created a very happy card!  When I saw this sketch I thought of the upcoming Valentine's holiday but I am not much of a heart girl.  I still had the new Stamp Dr sentiment stamp on my desk and based the rest of the card on it.  The sequin ribbon is hard to see but adds a little dazzle to muted card.

Here's the sketch!

Ingredients:
The Paper Loft Island Sun Starfish & Sundrenched
Dark Chocolate Shimmer paper from Paper Temptress
Stamp Dr. sentiment stamp
Creative Memories punch
Inkadinkdo patterned bugs stamp
Mixed Media Truffle ink and Judikins Chocolate Twinkle
Mon Ami Gabby sequin fiber
Handmade amber glass pin (by me)

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to join the challenge at Sketch N Scrap!

Kiwi Lane Altered Frame/Shadowbox

My second project is a TPC Chipboard frame that I turned into more of a shadowbox. I was hesitant to use the butterflies on a "boy" project, but since they were brown I think it turned out awesome!  The pictures are a few years old but these are some of my favorite pictures of my son ever!  I have made a pendant out of the small picture that I wear often.  I think the plaid CTMH paper lends a masculinity.   I also distressed most of the embellishments.  I crumpled and inked all the Kiwi Lane cuts to distress them.  I made the background the pictures are on from the Celebrate 7T cut from many of the CTMH papers then spritzed it generously.  I also spritzed the flowers and  crepe paper to dull them up and be more boyish.

I used Clara lane 3B on the crepe paper while bunched up and Celebrate 6T for the banners out of two different papers.

This is the best picture of the "inside" background which I spent so much time on and you can't even see most of it!

More close ups of my flowers created with Kiwi Lane templates and Mon Ami Gabby felt flowers.  I added some super cute brads to the center and a few have the same brown gems as the Mon Ami Gabby butterflies.

Here are some pics of the assembly of the frame and Kiwi Lane cuts:

Here I dropped the blade a couple of inches in to cut out only a center square.

Paper and frame

I left an inch for overlap but it still didn't stick as well as I wanted so I added some more strips of paper and more tape to make it stick down.

I used foam from packaging to add dimension.

Using every bit of CTMH paper!  I have had this paper for well over 3 years.

The template is only a "half" so I flip it over to make a complete flower.

Finished flower:

Ingredients:

Kiwi Lane:  Tiny Celebrate 6T, 7T; Holiday 3T, 7T; Nature 1; Delight 1; Clara lane 3B
Mon Ami Gabby flowers, crepe paper, butterflies

TPC Ancestral Columns paper
Bazzil card stock
Spare Parts brads & Misc brads
Tattered Angels Crème de Chocolat spritz
Adirondack butterscotch spritz

The letter A with Kiwi Lane and Recollections Pretty as a Peacock

Hi!  Alicia, here, for today's Kiwi Lane design team post.  I had so much fun working with the products from Mon Ami Gabby.  At first I was a little challenged to use their products with Kiwi Lane templates, but it turned out so well, I did two projects!

My first project is an altered letter A.  I was gifted this paper mache letter from Hobby Lobby through a secret sister program, I can't wait to show her how it turned out!  I painted a couple of coats of white despite the fact I was covering it with paper and I am glad I did.  For instance the "triangle" inside of the A was a bit tight, I could have lined it with paper but was I happier leaving it white.  I did, however, cover the bottom, sides, top and the underside of the "triangle" with a Recollections paper pad called Pretty as a Peacock.  I try not to purchase too many paper pads these days, but I "had" to have this one especially when it was half price!  I love peacock feathers, embellishments and paper but really haven't used it because it is too pretty. I know I have had it for at least a year.  Well, since this is MY letter and I can look at if forever, so I used that pretty paper!

For the Kiwi Lane product I used the featured Playtime template set.  Playtime 4 was the first template that I was dying to use because I love dragonflies so much, but I had not had the occasion to use it yet.  I also used Nature 1T for the leaves and since the flowers were green I made the leaves blue!

One of my favorite things about the Kiwi Lane designer templates is that you can select exactly which section of paper you want no matter where it is on the page!  Here, I have placed the template so that the peacock "eyes" are in just the right place!

I also doodled a bit on my dragonflies to give them more dimension.  And I crumpled and chalked the leaves to "pop" them up.

Ingredients:

Kiwi Lane: Playtime 4 & Nature 1T
Mon Ami Gabby:  flowers and gem twigs
Paper Studio paper mache A
Recollections Pretty as a Peacock paper
Jolee's blue puffy flourish stickers
Recollections frosted dots
Blue gelly roll pen
Queen & Co pearls
Quick Quotes Blue Jean chalk
Colorbox Lime pastel ink
Adhesives:  glue dots, ATG, pop dots

My second project is a TPC Chipboard frame that I turned into more of a shadowbox. I was hesitant to use the butterflies on a "boy" project, but since they were brown I figured it was okay.  I think it turned out awesome!  The pictures are a few years old but these are some of my favorite pictures of my son ever!  I have also made a pendant out of the small picture that I wear often. I think I will elaborate more on this project in another post.  I really put a lot of work into it.
