Karen Burniston Happy Camper Tent Pop Up card

Hello Happy Camper!  Tis the season for outdoor fun and today I am using several Karen Burniston die sets to create this fun summer card.  On the front I used nesting dies to frame the sentiment and lantern cuts.  I used ink to color the "light" in the lantern.

I love a good pop up and the tent does not disappoint. I used the Karen Burniston Pop Up Tent assembly video to get started.  I found the perfect paper, however, it was not double sided as Karen suggested.  I used blue ink to color the tent flaps.  I added brads to hold them back.  The die cut provides the holes. The cut also has the holes for the twine to go through the tent.  I used more brads to secure the "ropes".

The fire is also a pop up included in the tent pop up set.  The stump and the attaching mechanism are also included in the set.  I used vellum for the pop up mechanism to lessen the visibility. To have a pop up on the other side, simply reverse the folds.

The small lantern is from the Karen Burniston Camping Charms.

Stampin Up and Sunrise in St. Augustine for Sketches in Thyme

Welcome to this months inspiration for  Sketches In Thyme.  When I saw all the photos on this sketch I knew it would be perfect for my sunrise layout.  I took way too many photos but I was able to narrow the morning down to four.  We got up before dawn (obviously) and went down to the beach when were in St. Augustine to watch the sunrise.

Here's the sketch:

Cricut Father's Day - Man of the House for Bitten by the Bug 2

Welcome to the latest challenge for Bitten by the Bug 2 - For the Guys.  I made a couple of neat Father's Day cards. The first one was super easy.  Picking the card stock was the hardest part.  The cut is from Father's Day Card.

This image is cut from Father's Day-Best Dad Ever.  I love the muscle car image with the flames.  I found this retro patterned paper in my stash.  I feel it really brought the card together.  I was having trouble with Cricut Design Space and could not save my project the first time around.  I had to start over and forgot to resize this car.  So it is slightly oversized for this 5"x7" card.

Spellbinders Wreath with Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge

Good morning, it's time again for Team B over on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge blog.  I used a kind of old die cut I haven't used in a while to recreate the wreath on the sketch.  I remember the first time I used this die, I used thin paper and the wreath just fell apart, so this time I used card stock NOT paper and my cut was just fine.

Here's the sketch:

I added my colorful die cuts to a piece of bright plaid.  I am getting my use out of this second hand paper.  I think I only had 2 12x12 sheets I picked up from my favorite upcycle store.  I have made at least 4 cards now and I still have some large scraps.  I dotted the details on the yellow flowers and added gems to the center of the blue ones.

Ingredients:
Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies - Wreath 5 Templates S4-572
Spellbinders phrase set two die set
misc papers
pen and gems

Cricut Country Fair Challenge for Bitten by the Bug 2

Welcome to the latest Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge: Country Fair.  I found this challenge well, challenging but I managed to eek out a couple of cards I feel have a country fair feel.  I found this 7 Gypsies paper that really lent itself to my cuts.

The cow is from Quilted Christmas.  I know right?  An Xmas image?  I find so many great images in this set, I love the intricate cuts that are pretty easy to create.  I layer my cut on a manual die cut oval using My Favorite Things Double Stitched Ovals in a complimentary golden paper.

My second card is a supposed award winning pie from the fair.  How do you like that?  It's blueberry, my hubby thought it should be more blue but I find when you make a pie they turn more purple.  Anyway, the first dark paper cut didn't work, the paper was too thin. So I switched to a thicker paper, the second cut was fine but still quite a puzzle to assemble the blueberries (dark layer).

I used the Sparkly Sweet Treats image set for this one and same 7 Gypsies Spitafields paper.  I also used one of my oldest tools, my original Creative Memories corner rounder.

Catherine Pooler Slimline Essentials Nautical Card

Good morning, I am here today with nautical themed slimline card. I really enjoy playing with distress inks but I also like clean lines. This card combines both my passions.  I was able to get inky while keeping it clean. I used the Catherine Pooler Slimline Essentials dies. The set really does contain all the basics you need for wonderful slimline.

This photo is the first layer of ink application.  I applied ink and splatter plain water here.  After the next layer of ink, I applied shimmer spray.  Finally, I die cut pieces from the optimal areas of the paper.

I love how the cuts turned out.  I added gems as eyes.

I clustered a few of the sand dollar cuts.

I inked the edges of all the cuts.
