On Wednesday's we wear black... Hero Arts Paper Doll

The wait is finally over and on Wednesday's we wear black!!!  I own ALL the Hero Arts Lifestyle dies series, they are basically paper doll pieces that came in several themed sets.  If you are a follower of my blog, you will know how much I love paper piecing. So this die set is one of my absolute favorites.  I have only used it once. I made paper dolls of my besties that was over two years ago!  I never even posted them. My Wednesday was of course created  in anticipation of today. It's taken way to long to get a second season of this show.

I used hair from two different sets to create her look. I colored the face stamp with ink pens to get lip and eye color different.

The boots are from the Victorian Lady die set.  Most of Wednesday's dress is from the Trick or Treat set but the boots in that set were a bit too "witchy".  I cut the collar in two and manipulated the pieces a bit to create the cuffs. I cut the legs in black to create the tights.

Barks Marvin Masculine Dog card: Grrrrrrrrrr

Hello all!  I have been playing with this new to me stamp set. I purchased it recently at a creative reuse store, Scrap it up. The stamp set from Stampers Anonymous is called Barks Marvin the Crime Solving Dog. I was ecstatic to score such a great set of just a few dollars.  I pulled out some premade backgrounds and started stamping away with this new set.  I created several cards. This was my husband's favorite.

Since it was my husband's favorite, I figured it was the most masculine of the bunch, but they are are truly masculine cards.

My husband did note this image isn't as clear as some of the others which were stamped and embossed with pretty much the same ingredients.  I believe it is the kraft paper. These images were also pretty large.  I put this on a 5x7" card.

Ingredients:
Stampers Anonymous Barks Marvin: The Crime Solving Dog stamps
A muse French Roast ink
Woven Tapestry embossing powder
Tim Holtz Sizzix Harlequin embossing folder
Distress inks a green and a blue on tag
kraft tag
velvet brad
misc card stock and papers including Bazzill

Pink Paislee Adventure card for Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge

Welcome to my blog today.  I am using the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Challenge Sketch #640.  I found this heart globe die cut in my stash of precut pieces.  I knew exactly where the papers were that I used for this and dug them out to complete the card.  I found a Stampin Up sentiment that worked well with the globe and travel papers.

Here is the SKETCH.

A close up of my globe and sentiment.  I have no idea of the brand of die.  I love it though!  I have used it several times.

The We R Tape It kit dies have proven invaluable as well. I use them all the time for sentiments!

Ingredients:
American Craft Paislee Pink Horizon #5,17 and 23 papers
Spellbinders rectangle die
globe die
Stampin Up Greatest Journey sentiment stamp
Colorbox Heliotrope ink
We R Tape It kit die

Music Layout: Favorite Topic to Scrap for Lasting Memories Challenge as Guest Designer

Welcome to my last post as guest designer for Lasting Memories challenge.  This week's challenge is to scrap your favorite topic.  I used some old stash a Story Tellers Club kit.  It was in my "music" stash and I thought perfect for these photos.

I am not sure if you are familiar with The Story Teller's Club but it was a monthly scrapbook kit that came with several double sided printed papers, punch out die cut sheets, ribbon and coordinating card stock. Oh! and I think they usually came with sticker letters.  At least I still have some in my stash.

Added beyond the kit was some red resin roses.  They are probably Tim Holtz Idea-ology.  They were just perfect for this layout!

Ingredients:
The Storytellers Club kit May 2011
Mrs. Grossman sticker letters
red resin roses

Welcome to my next installment of my guest designer spot at Lasting Memories Scrapbook challenge.  This week's challenge is to use your favorite brand.  I found this to be a true challenge, there are so many brands that I love.  However, I would say I fell in love with Graphic 45 when I saw them at Megameet in Michigan.  I have been a fan ever since.  I hoard this paper, but I am trying to use it up!

Graphic 45 Artisan Style lent itself very nicely to the photos of this gorgeous building in Chicago.  I created a faux stained glass window with die cuts.  I also used it as my journal spot.

Jillibean Soup Unicorn card with Sketch N Scrap

I hope your day is all Rainbows and Unicorns!  What a fun card, I was in a whimsical mood when I found this paper stack on top of my 6x6 stack.  I recently purchased it at a thrift store.  I say good score!  It only had one piece of paper missing and cost 75 cents!  I searched Evernote and found all my unicorn images. I landed on this Jillibean Soup coordinating set and stamped and embossed it in Sparkling Sky blue. I layered it on some pastel blue glossy paper. Finally, I layered it on some glittered papers resulting in sparkle and shine and sparkle again!

Here is the sketch I used from Sketch N Scrap.

Here's a side view.  I popped up the unicorn and only one of the clouds to create depth.  The stamps had coordinating dies which is why I purchased this set second hand from my favorite creative reuse store Indigo Hippo.  They are in the middle of their summer fundraiser if you'd like to help. They use these funds to give all sorts of artists the ability to access affordable art supplies.  They do a lot of work with children including providing free school supplies.

A close up of my unicorn embossed with some glittery embossing powder.

Colorbox Aqua and Sweet Melon inks
Stampin Up Grapefruit Grove embossing powder

Favorite Embellishments for Lasting Memories Challenge as Guest Designer

It's Sunday and time for my July guest designer post for Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenges.  This week's challenge is to use your favorite embellishment.  My favorite is gems/dots/pearls. I threw in a lot of buttons on this sketch but the smaller pearls are really my go to for any layout or card.

I used the July 1 sketch from Sketch N Scrap. I turned the sketch to accommodate my photo orientation.  It really allowed me to highlight my favorite embellishments.

Here is a close up of the embellishments.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Rugged Power Palette
Crafter's Square blue pearls
misc buttons and beads

Halloween layout: My Favorite Holiday for Lasting Memories as Guest Designer

Welcome to my second week as guest designer at Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge blog.  This week's challenge #758 is scrapping your favorite holiday.  My favorite holiday is Halloween.  It's always a fun holiday! This particular Halloween we traveled to New Orleans for a concert.

Here is page one.  I began with a kit from way back...for years I belonged to The Storytellers Club.  They really had some great kits.  Long ago I separated the card stock and kits by theme.  I found this one in my Halloween papers.

I found a Pinterest sketch to use for page one.

I love this green shimmer paper.  I still have a few more sheets but I am getting low after years.  I purchased a 25 count pack at Tuesday Morning.  My purchase has outlived the store!  I used Creative Memories sticker letters.  I keep chipping away at my stash.

For the title I used my Cricut and a rock n roll font with skulls and cross bones. I layered scraps of the green shimmer paper behind the cut outs.

I used a sheet of Halloween circle stickers and layered them on a Tim Holtz Sizzix die cut.  I think the bat is from a Recollections collection but I could be mistaken.

The second page continues the title and more of my circle embellishments.

I found another sketch with four or more photos on Pinterest.  You can find this one HERE.  I loved all the action shots of this song and wanted to include a lot of images, therefore, I printed them small.

The Storytellers Club kits always included several pages of die cut embellishments to punch out.  I thought these brackets were adorable!  I had to use them.  The border with glitter words is a different brand but coordinates well.

A close up of one of the clusters using my circle embellishment and echo park brads.

Ingredients:
The Storytellers Club October 2009 kit
ANC Crestwood Grass Green Shimmer and Plum adhesive backed paper
Creative Memories mini sticker letters
Cricut Rock Star font
Tim Holtz Sizzix Stitched Circles
Echo Park Decorative brads Arsenic & Lace
Creative Memories circle cutting system
Halloween border (K & Co?)
dimensional bat stickers and other stickers
black card stock

You're So Sweet Scrapbook.com Special Fold

You're so sweet to stop by and check out my card today!  I hope you have a great day and enjoy today's card. I spent a lot of time die cutting and designing on this one.  I was very pleased with how it turned out. I primarily used Scrapbook.com product papers, stamps and dies. I used a prefolded card base.

I just adore how the watermelons have hearts for seeds. I also stamped the sentiments and die cut them.  I inked all the edges as it my preference.

I used a Spellbinders label die cut to layer behind the large sentiment.  I was then able to adhere just half so the sentiment remains intact when folded and unfolded.

Ingredients:
Spellbinders Petite labels 1
Stampin Up Word Window punch
Kindred Stamps Sentiment Strip die
UPDATE:  I found the precut base package. The base was the Tri Shutter cards from Our Daily Bread. It came with 2 each of 3 colors. I used both whites.  I will be showing off the second card soon. I still have two ivory and two kraft bases.
