Quick Quotes Catalina Island On Vacation layout

Hello Quick Quotes readers!!  Alicia with you today and I have a tropical layout using the Catalina Island collection.  I just can't get enough of the bright cheerful colors and they go great with my honeymoon photos from Jamaica.

I fussy cut the  zig zag on the Catalina Island 300 paper AND used the scrap at the top for a little more diversity from the orange.  Doesn't that blue sky in my picture pop on the bright orange paper?  I also fussy cut the flourishes from the Catalina Island 200 paper and tucked the end of the Catalina Island 300 paper underneath.  I added die cut flowers from a Quick Quotes kit and embellished them with brads.

I used a piece from Catalina Island 100 paper that was pretty much entirely white for the journal spot and the leaves of the palm tree on the title.  Then I took my Green with Envy PowderPuff Chalking Ink and inked it up.  I topped it off with some chocolate pearls for coconuts.

Other products:
Cricut Cuts
brads

You will see some amazing projects having to do with a zoo or safari related theme and have a chance to win some blog candy along the way.
We have 2 wonderful sponsors for this hop!

They will be sponsoring a $15 gift card for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store.

They will be sponsoring a $15 gift card for the SVG Attic store

You should have arrived from Denise's blog if not start back at the beginning with  Lisa's blog!

Now for a walk on the wild side...I have made for you today a couple of  WILD cards!  I was using my Cricut Design Space subscription so forgive me for not noting which carts were used.

I love this big guy!  So much he got a 6x6 card!  Considering the sentiment, I thought it appropriate.  I also used my brand new star cartridge for my Creative Memories border punch.  I ordered all three of the new designs.  I am sure I will be showing more examples soon.  I layered the metallic silver paper on top of a black card, then the same black card stock on top of the metallic with the stars punched out on two sides.  I cut the banner with a Stampin Up thinlit die.  The blue is a metallic blue paper from DCWV.

My second card is a buffalo, also wild but more a domestic wild.  I chose it because I loved the sentiment!  He is made of Bazzill and other card stocks with a layer of The Paper Loft paper behind.  I used the same metallic blue from DCWV.  I also used a Spellbinders die.

Next up is my really good friend Theresa!  I know she will have some wild thangs for you!!!

Here's the entire line up in case you get lost:

Baseball Layout for Hiding in My Craft Room Color Challenge

This past weekend, I really worked hard and completed 23 pages!!  They are not all "blog worthy" but I finally finished an album that had been unfinished for too long!
When I saw the challenge at Hiding in My Craft room, I knew I had some pages that would work with those colors!  I didn't use the ink, however, I used Creative Memories papers and some red card stock.  Finally, I added some shiny 3-D stickers.

Simple but complete!  I used the natural Creative Memories pages for the "crumb cake"

Quick Quotes Catalina Island Sunburst Cards

Good day Quick Quotes readers!  Alicia with you today presenting a set if Sunburst cards with Catalina Island collection paper and stickers.  Sunburst cards are a great way to showcase all the pretty papers in a collection. I think this collection lends itself so well to a Sunburst even the sentiments from Catalina Island Die Cut Stickers are perfect for them!

Horizontal Sunburst
  • Begin with 4 pieces of 1.5"x4" paper.  Cut each piece diagonally from corner to corner creating triangles.
  • Place the triangles in the order you want your burst on a 2.75"x5" scrap piece of card stock (you won't see any of this piece when finished)
  • You may have to fidget a bit with the triangles to insure complete coverage, moving them up and down on the scrap piece.
  • Chalk all the edges and adhere when your sunburst looks desirable.  Cut off excess paper.
  • Layer your sunburst on a mat 5.25"x4"
  • Use a ribbon to cover the bottom edge of your sunburst and transition to sentiment section.
  • Sentiment paper measures: 1"x5"

Vertical Sunburst
  • Begin with 4 pieces of 1.5"x4" paper.  Cut each piece diagonally as above.
  • Place the triangles on a scrap piece of paper measuring 3.5"x3.75"
  • Place the triangles to ensure complete coverage.
  • Chalk and Adhere
  • Layer your sunburst on a mat 5.25"x4".  Cut off excess paper.
  • Use a ribbon to cover the bottom edge of your sunburst and transition to sentiment section.
  • Sentiment paper measures:  1.5"x3.75"

Some more helpful hints:

  • Use excess papers cut off edges to get the smallest corners of the sunbursts.
  • To create sentiment embellishments, place sticker on white card stock, trim edges and pop up!
  • Don't forget to use both sides of the papers for more variation.

OWH Too Flaky Love Card and Giveaway!

I really, really loved this card.  My friends and I made 30 of this design for Operation Write Home.  While I was preparing the cards, I realized my hands were turning golden.  I thought I had tested the paper thoroughly but I guess I did not.  Therefore, I could not send these cards.  I am sending some to all the ladies who helped that day.

I purchased the card base with envelopes and designed the card around the beautiful gold embossed background.  I embossed the hearts on scrap red paper.  I used Kiwi Lane templates on kraft card stock and gold metallic paper.

The sentiment is inside stamped in red ink.  I forgot to take pics of the lined inside with sentiment.  One sentiment is "All you need is love", another is "because I love you that's why" and there were a couple of more "love" sentiments.

Ingredients:
Kiwi Lane templates: Sentiments 1B, Delight 1
Versamark ink
Michael's card base
kraft, red, and gold metallic card stock
Ala mode gold embossing powder
Stampin Up I heart hearts stamp set
SU Primrose Petals (inside)
Brillance galaxy gold ink (edging)
Recollections flowers and metallic bling

Since I have so many of this card, I would love to give a few away. Please let me know in a comment below you would like one and use the "contact me" button to send me your snail mail address for delivery!  Have a great day!
