With all my Heart...Quick Quotes cards

Good morning, Alicia here today with some alternative Mother's Day cards.  The cards I have created use Quick Quotes Vellum Quotes and Quick Quotes Phrases and Quotes as the primary element.  Any of the cards I made could be Mother's Day cards or for a special mother figure in your life.

On this card I used some dies, glitter stickers, layers of paper, a die cut frame with pearls, buttons and a flower.  I also added the peachy butterfly as the final touch.  I chalked all the edges with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks.

For the second card I used more layers of paper and die cuts.  I also added some lovely fiber and pearls.  Again, I chalked all the edges with Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks.

Finally, I created a card with some of the scraps from the first two cards.  I added some punches and as always inked the edges.

Monochromatic Peach with Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch

I had a brief moment to play around with some sketches.  I purchased a large pack of doilies from Michael's this past weekend.  There were about 8 colors included and this peach on just screamed to be matched up with the peachy papers I scored at Tuesday Morning. Don't you love it when you just look over your work space and your new scores just happen to sync up perfectly!  Or maybe I have just been in a peachy mood when shopping. After being home bound for several weeks, shopping is refreshing for once.  I also knew I needed some thank you cards for my doctor and nurses hence this card and tomorrows.

Here's the sketch I used:

Discover new horizons...Quick Quotes and Clear Scraps Cross Promo

Good morning!  Alicia here today sharing my Quick Quotes and Clear Scraps project.  I used several Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks to color a Clear Scraps 12x12 acrylic layout.  I sealed the color with a spray sealant.  I cut my photos to fit the frames and added embellishments.

I die cut some Whistlin Dixie 107 paper for the sun.  I used white card stock for the foliage and inked it up with the same green Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks I used on the palm trees.

I cut several pieces from Quick Quotes Adventure Awaits 12 x 12 Quotes and inked the edges with more Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalking inks.

Distress Tie Dye technique with Technique Junkies

Today, I am playing with another Technique Junkies stamp that I purchased at Stampaway and using the same Tie Dye technique illustrated on their blog.  This time I used different distress inks for my tie dye.

Here's a close up of my coloring:

I told you next time I would show the difference between black ink and clear detail embossing powder (bottom) and black ink with an equal mix of clear and black detail embossing powder (top):

The mix is much bolder and doesn't get as muted by the inks.

Ingredients:

Technique Junkies Measure herself

Distress inks:  Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves

Martha Stewart flowers

pearls

Colorbox Mix'd Media black ink

Judikins clear and black detail embossing powder

alcohol markers:  copic, prima, american craft

Spellbinders label

K & Co recycled purple paper

ribbon

Quick Quotes Purple Passion chalking ink

I didn't break the rules...Technique Junkies challenge

I purchased this stamp at Stampaway last year.  I have to admit, I haven't even used it and then I saw this month's challenge at Technique Junkies.  I thought this looked like a great technique to try.  I had a lot of fun and made several backgrounds.  Here is the first.

I have worked for Judikins at Stampaway for several years now. Customers flock to Judi's booth to purchase both Black and Clear detail embossing powder.  Northwood Stamps tells their customers for coloring images the best results come from using a mix of both Black and Clear detail embossing powder.  I found my extra container of clear low so I poured in some black.  This is my first time using the mixture and I am really pleased.  I took pics of both embossing results and I will post next time.

Ingredients:

Technique Junkies The Rules stamp

Distress inks:  Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch

Colorbox Mix'd Media black ink

Judikins clear and black detail embossing powders

glitter paper

Alchohol markers including Copic and Prima

Stitched rectangle die

fiber, sequins

Just Because: Pleated fold card with Quick Quotes Mulberry papers

Good morning Quick Quotes readers, Alicia here today with a special fold.  I enjoy being challenged by trying a new fold.  I was a little intimidated but it really wasn't that hard.  Whenever I try a new technique I first use a piece of white card stock because it usually takes once to figure it out correctly.

Instructions for the full pleated fold:

1. For a full pleated front begin with a piece  measuring 3" x 11"
2. Score at 1.5" next 2" then 3" alternating half inch then inch scores until the 9.5" score, leaving a 1.5" length at the end
3. Mark the half way point (1.5") on the short side
4. Cut at a diagonal from that mark to the 5" mark turn the paper and cut the same diagonal on the other corner
5. These two cuts should leave an inch in the center with no cut
6. Alternate folds and crease with a bone folder and ink all edges
7. Adhere the folds in place
8. Adhere the pleated panel on your card
9. Cover the top of the panel with another piece of paper, die cut or ribbon

Here's another version.  Quick Quotes' double sided patterned papers lend themselves so well to creating a lovely peekaboo and coordinating panels.

Quick Quotes products used:

Mulberry Paper Pack

Plum PowderPuff Chalking Ink

other products:

Stampin Up Four Frames stamp and punch

Close to My Heart Just to Say sentiment stamp

Mix'd Media Berries ink

Judikins clear detail embossing powder

Sizzix Rain or Shine embossing folder/die set

pearls, brad and flowers

Smiles are contagious card

I had a minute to squeeze in a challenge last night. I scored a ream of this mustard textured card stock at the thrift store.  Regular readers will be seeing more of this card stock.

Here is the sketch I used:

I added some sequins I purchased from overseas.  I am not sure you can see the stripes on the tiny sequins but they are really different.  I also took a cue from the strip with triangles and cut a couple of corners (pun intended) to place on the sentiment strip.

Ingredients:

Pebbles Lakeside 6x6 paper pad

Inkadinkado Thoughts for the Day sentiment

Colorbox Chalk Rouge

sequins

glittered napkin scraps
