DCWV Green Stack with The Scrap Room sketch

Good morning!  I am on a roll and about to finish another album. This one is pretty small.  It only has about 30 pages.  After I finished my honeymoon, I assessed what other albums I was working on and discovered this one was almost complete.  I have a few other layouts coming in the next few days and just two more to complete before I am finished.

Here is the sketch I used:

Thank you deer

Good morning!  Alicia here today.  I have been in need of some new masculine cards, so I pulled out some nice masculine papers and started cutting.  I made several panels with Frantic Stamper Stitched Corner cut tags, my new favorite die set.  I began with an A2 piece of printed paper and made my cuts in the center so I could use the negatives.  I love a die that gives you two usable pieces.  Since the stitching is on both sides this die provides a wonderful frame.  I used the frame from the largest die to begin my card.  I popped it up to add dimension.  I kept the cut for another card and layered more cuts with the same set inside.

I then selected papers for my decorative die.  Unfortunately, this set is sold out but there are so many deer dies in the store...here's the closest to the one I used:  Frantic Stamper Deer Bust.  I have already made a couple of Father's Day cards this year, so I choose to use a simple thank you.  I stamped my sentiment on a banner included in the set.  I inked all the edges and my woodsy masculine card is complete!

Off the Page: Quick Quotes/Canon Altered Photo Box

Good morning, Quick Quotes readers, Alicia  here today with a fun altered project.  This is actually left over from last year's Quick Quotes' Two Day Mini Reserve.  I did not complete the project at the time of the event since I was not sure how I wanted to use it.  I decided to  give this to my mother for Mother's Day.  She adored it and absolutely loved the colors.  If I had completely this project last year, I would not have had the new 2017 Warm Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink which complimented the box and contents perfectly.

I followed the directions for the outside of the box while choosing my own sentiment for the label in front.  For the inside, I did my own thing.  I labeled some of the dividers with all the grandchildren's names.  Then I grabbed some of the best pictures from their Facebook pages, I am so sneaky...I printed them on my PIXMA iP8720 13x19 Wireless Printer from the comfort of my chair since the printer is wireless.  I dressed up the dividers with papers and quotes from the kit.  I inked up the chipboard pieces with powderpuff chalking ink and adhered it all down.

I filed the left over pics behind the appropriate divider. I will let my mother label the remaining dividers in the categories she finds she needs.  She intendeds to use this box very soon to sort her photos.  There's plenty of room left to complete her task.

Finally, the front photo is removable so she can switch it out as she wishes.  However, she was delighted with the photo I used that features most of her grandchildren.  I took it when my sister and her girls where visiting.  The dramatic view is of them overlooking the Roebling Suspension Bridge here in Cincinnati.

While you can no longer obtain this specific kit, you can purchase the box and quotes from the Quick Quotes website, the links are below.  I hope this inspires you to consider one of the upcoming Quick Quotes Events featuring exclusive projects.

Shoot for the moon!

Hello, Alicia here today with a pretty card of encouragement. I chose to keep the background colors varying shades of dark blue like the night sky. I think the colors keep this card gender neutral as well. I found a scrap of this wonderful textured silver paper from which to cut my moon and stars. I also used a new helpful tool, the Tutti Designs Metal Adapter Plate. It makes the details of fine dies like the moon from Cheery Lynn Designs Hippie Heroine very distinct. All the bits and pieces just fell out of the die, very little weeding is needed.

After die cutting the panels with my new Frantic Stamper Stitched Corner cut Tags , I felt the card needed a little more, so I used the Cheery Lynn Designs Mandala Doily 1 to make a cut with the scrap silver paper. I didn't need to cut the entire die since I only need four "loops" to accent my corners. I cut the "loops" apart and tucked them behind the cut corners. The bohemian details of the moon are accentuated beautifully with the doily accents.
