Quick Quotes St. Patrick's Day cards and decor

What a better soft green to create St. Patrick's cards and decor with than the new Chiffon collection. Alicia posting today for Quick Quotes.  I made some fun and uniquely Irish cards and decor with a fresh spring flair.

First up are my pinwheels.  I love the pinwheels I have received in some of my Quick Quotes Club Q kits so when I found a pinwheel die I purchased it!  The lovely two sided papers make gorgeous pinwheels, don't you think? I used manual die cuts for all the papers and just measured with a ribbon to cut the base of my bottle wrap.  I just loved how sweet this project turned out.

Next is a card.  I started with this sparkling card base and built layers of die cut papers upon that.  When I was finished I added ribbon and pearls.

This gate fold card was also a predesigned base.  I used a border punch to liven up the paper covering the outside.  I just love the celtic knot die, it is only adhered on one side as to open easily.

Peekaboo!  The inside has more celtic die cuts with the same St. Patrick's Day sentiment.  It just fit perfect in that scallop circle punch.  The Quick Quotes Chiffon collection made some beautiful St. Patrick's Day cards and decor.

Creative Memories Simply Beautiful with Sketch N Scrap TBT sketch

Good morning! Another Thursday, another TBT sketch from Sketch N Scrap !  I thought this sketch was wonderful with my two stunning pink sunlight photos.  I am working on several projects and these are from a trip to Red River Gorge in Kentucky from Memorial Day last year.

This sketch is originally from March 2014.

I love the dramatic effect of the pink and brown.

My little friend had a bright pink shirt on which just made these pictures and the layout!

My flower and embellishment clusters are created with Creative Memories matching embellishments.

I loved these brown letters but don't remember the brand.  The had a clear base so they blended on the paper beautifully.  Can you believe when I went to date the layout, I noticed the pictures were taken at 5:23 on 5/23!  I had to add that bit of info.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories Simply Beautiful collection and pink sticker letters
misc brown letters from my stash

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to play with Sketch N Scrap this month, we have 7 scrappy sketches and two card sketches.

Quick Quotes March Welcome to Spring Challenge

March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb...

Good morning! Alicia here today with the new monthly challenge: March Winds.  I am sure you have all heard the above proverb.  March weather can be so unpredictable, so really any weather related project will work with the theme.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, here are some more March weather related sayings:

A dry March and a wet May?Fill barns and bays with corn and hay.
As it rains in March so it rains in June.
March winds and April showers? Bring forth May flowers.

I have designed a few different weather related cards to inspire you.

To make this card I simply used Feather Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink over a raindrop stencil.  Then I layered seven different ovals in rainbow sequence and cut the stack in half.  I die cut some clouds and stamped the sentiment.  Generously edging every element with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking inks.

Quick Quotes Products used:

Celebrate paper (purple)
Purple Passion PowderPuff Chalking Ink

other ingredients:
My Favorite Things Raindrops stencil
Close to my Heart Rain or Shine stamp set
Spellbinders cloud and oval dies
Distress markers:  wilted violet and candied apple
white card stock

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

For the second card I created the background using a template and masks.  I used a template to cut the "hill" on scrap white card stock, I used one side of the the cut to mask off the sky, chalked up the grass then I used the opposite cut to mask off the hill and chalk up the sky.  I die cut the clouds and sunshine and edged them generously.  Once adhered in the position I desired, I cut off the excess. The Whistlin Dixie 102 paper made simply gorgeous sun and clouds!  The other blue paper clouds are from the new Chiffon collection.

Quick Quotes products used:

other ingredients:
Spellbinders Sunny Days dies
Kiwi Lane template Sentiments 1A
Stampin Up Modern label punch
White card stock

I would like to enter card #2 in the following challenges:

For my final card I really wanted the swirls and flourishes in the Whistlin Dixie 102 paper to represents the wind.  I stamped my sun right on the edge using the new Desert Sun PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  Details of the "silver linings":

Quick Quotes products used:

other ingredients:
Close to my heart Rain or Shine and matching cloud Cricut cuts
Ranger Silver detail embossing powder
unmarked sentiment stamp
Stampin Up sequins
misc ribbon
Sizzix die
white shimmer card stock
