Sparky~licious!

Good morning! Alicia here today with a scrapbook page featuring my new dog Sparky.  When I saw the Frantic Stamper Bobble Head Sweet Pea die, I had to have it!  My Sparky looks just like Sweet Pea.  It was hard to get a good picture of Sparky, he is always wagging his tail and his black fur makes his face disappear.

I cut my die with white card stock and colored with alcohol markers.  I left a few spots white right where Sparky has white patches.  Since my little guy is black and white, I kept the layout black and white with just a splash of red.  I have been hoarding this adorable paper and using the Tutti Designs Dies Nesting Stitched Banner die as a background for my Sweet Pea was perfect!

Off the Page: Quick Quotes Nautical Birdhouse

Alicia here today with a nautical themed bird house.  I used the Anchors Aweigh collection along with some nautical embellishments to create this lovely home decor.  I have the perfect person in mind to gift this object d'art.  I think the colors and nautical theme are a perfect match.

I started by chalking the edges I was going to leave exposed.  I also chalked the interior of the hole so it would not be bare.  It was refreshing to chalk this instead of paint and the drying time saved was a fantastic bonus.

I cut and measured paper for all the sides.  I marked where the holes were and cut them out before chalking the all the paper edges and adhering to the bird house.  I used a paper straw as the perch.  I found the perfect metal porthole to embellish the hole. I cut and layered some papers, added anchor stickers placed on all four sides.  I shaped a strip of paper to layer on the bottom.  Finally, I added a little washi tape to some of the edges.

I hope I have inspired you to create your own beautiful home decor with paper!  It was really easy and fun to create.

There's a rainbow...

Good morning blog readers!  Alicia here today.  March is making me think about Spring and I have for you a colorful spring card using several dies to create a landscape.  The clouds look so pretty in vellum.  I inked my background with a sponge dauber to create the sky background.

I ended up with 7 rainbows since I cut one set out of each color.  I made 5 of these cards and a couple of another design. It was really fun and easy...who doesn't want to assemble rainbows? Here's a close up:

My last layout of the month.  I am pretty sure I used a sketch but I can't seem to find it. ?!?!?!  This is also one of the last pictures you will see without my lightbox.  I am still getting it together, but I can tell a great difference.  The diffusion of light is great when photographing photos.

I will always love you...more honeymoon layouts

I finally finished all my design team projects for March so I allowed myself to play along with some challenges.  This one is a redo.  I was playing along with the sketch and there is a special prize for combining with the lyrics to I will always love you.  If you read my blog you may remember, I used this sketch and lyrics, just not the lyrics from this song!  So I am trying this again.

Here's the sketch I used:

This time around, I didn't make a specifically romantic layout.  I just used a great pic of my hubby and some wonderful embellishments.

Moonlight Romance: Quick Quotes Mulberry Paper with Sketch N Scrap Sketch

Good morning! I made a corresponding page for yesterday's layout. Using the same wonderful new Mulberry paper pack from Quick Quotes'.  I used the same moon and stars die cuts and Recollections mulberry gems.

I used this great sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

Layout Sketches due February 28th

I did NOT cut this title out of the paper with my Cricut.  I decided to use up some of my old Creative Memories sticker letters since the Blueberry matched the papers so nicely.

I just love the little cluster here at the bottom:

Quick Quotes Night Time Layout with the New Mulberry Paper Pack

Good morning!  Alicia posting a layout with the new Mulberry paper pack.  The colors in this new pack are so rich!  I am loving the blues, purples and yellows.  They are so versatile. Here I have showcased several of the papers but using die cuts, templates and simple strips all on one page.

Here's a close up of my die cuts. I generously chalked the edges of the yellow paper with Desert Sun PowderPuff Chalking Ink for perfect shading on my moon and stars.  I popped the photo of my husband on a thin white mat to make sure the dark photo stood out from the blue papers.
